Every day, an ocean maiden looked at winged creatures in the sky. A dark feeling hurt her heart. But one day one of the birds was about to fall down on merciless waves. Ignoring envy, a mermaid saved a poor bird. She asked with sorrow in her eyes: "What are you doing!? Fly! You have an ability to fly!" "I can’t. No strength left. It’s time for me to die…" Salty drops began to fall from the mermaid's eyes. With all her strength, she swam after a flock of birds flying in the sky. She hardly saw them, but she never lost sight of them. She held a bird above the water. A mermaid let a bird go only on the dry shore. As a reward, a winged creature promised to tell its chicks the legend of the noble mermaid. Fairly beautiful one and kind, who saved bird destined to die. Envy let go of a heart of an ocean maiden, it was then filled with warmth. A bird that was on the verge of death made the mermaid look at her life differently The mermaid found a new meaning in life by saving dying birds. During her long life, an ocean maiden saved hundreds of its lives. Other marine inhabitants criticized her not starting a family, because she was too busy saving birds, but she didn’t care about their opinion.
