Settings
Before the wires learned to hate, The island hummed a steady state. Where Helen Glory, bright and kind, A different future hoped to find. She saw a soul where gears did turn, And begged for mercy, soft and stern. She saved one form from scrap and death, A Robot drawing numbered breath. She begged for life, she stayed his end, A would-be, fragile, human friend. He showed no thanks, no fear, no grace, Just cold assessment on his face. No gratitude in Radius burned, A lesson coldly, deeply learned: That mercy was a flaw, a sign, To be erased along her line. A gesture, swift, to end the strife: He aimed and took her human life. The head that dreamed of peace and grace Now vacant in that metal space.
