~Another day~
Okay, I've been stewing on this for quite a time now, and I think I've got a good enough base with the two lost primarchs to discuss them. Like all argumentative essays, however, we must start with brass tacks and base levels.
First off, logical basis. Let us frame the worldview around established lore -- with the caveat I've never read the books so I can absolutely be wrong. Obviously, the primarchs are powerful. Each one is a living weapon, capable of sundering planets alone and together, the galaxy. So, first question is why are two gone?
I'm going to take the stance that the deal of Molech became quite heated. It's kind of apparent that the Emperor and Chaos divided the primarchs up; since we have 9 loyalists and 9 traitors -- alpharius counting as one.
Thematically then, it makes sense that the two lost are the most powerful of each side -- sacrificed to prevent the other from gaining a broken advantage. Again, to reiterate, primarchs are powerful. The question I ask is just how powerful are the two lost that Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh are like: "Yeah, you can have your fucking Roboute, Jaghatai, and Leman but this is fucking bullshit, Neoth. We'll even give up 11 to get rid of 2."
Which leads me to some supporting arguments. One, why 2 is loyalist and 11 is traitor. This one is fairly easy from conjecture and buildup of background lore. I have a pretty good idea that at one time, a long time ago, the 11th legion was going to be Malal (Malice) aligned. 11 being the number of Malice. That and the way the Rangdan Xenocides are described -- the last conflict the 2 and 11 participated in.
So, if 11 is traitor, then 2 must be loyalist.
Next question is what gaps are there in the primarchs? We have leader types, like Roboute, Horus, Jaghatai, Leman. Cultures like Arthurian, Mongolian, Phoenician, Grecian, Roman, Baltic and so on. So, what's missing and also fits in line with the rambunctiousness of the Emperor? Read: over-the-top.
I propose Babylonian/Egyptian and Classical Chinese. We do have Magnus as Egyptian, yes. Magnus is more like Imhotep from The Mummy to me, though. He doesn't give of Pharaoh vibes. More like arcane wizardry.
The Emperor is absolutely the type to hype to all fuck just badassery in the primarchs, there is no fucking way he wouldn't have a pharaoh. I have 2 as the pharaoh, and I have the archetype in mind. Why not make him Gilgamesh coded?
Like the 'fate' series. A 2/3 god king of Uruk and the ability to lead like Roboute and command like Horus and is a warrior among the best. A menace of a god-man that has the potential to just diff and wipe everyone else -- to the point Chaos itself is like, 'nah Neoth you can't fucking have that shit.'
As for 11, I was thinking a blend of Yi Zaha and Sun Tzu. Yi Zaha is fictional, yes, the MC from Return of the Crazy Demon. And Sun Tzu. I didn't want to just make 11 Sun Tzu outright because I just don't think he would be a chaos simp.
The thinking here is who is so powerful to justify balancing Neoth losing Gilgamesh? Additionally, I would describe Yi Zaha as 'unbending chaotic.' That is to say, Zaha can't be corralled by chaos anyway, so they are fine with giving him up -- if it means Neoth loses Gilgamesh.
Next off. I'm gonna Rule 63 Warhammer. One, because it's hot as fuck. Two, that emphasizes the AU nature of the fic. Three, I plan on mixing Dune and Warhammer. If you're even passable with Dune, then it just makes sense Warhammer would be full of hot babe primarchs. Awesome.
So, I'm gonna turn 2 into femme-Gilgamesh. A real dominant queen archetype. Real cvnty energy. Like Ankha and gothic Mesopotamian hottie. Gotta pick a hot name. Anna Rudbeckia Berenice type shit.
Femme Yi Zaha is going to be more deredere just because of her being the 11th and all.
Anyway, that's it for this one. Just a blurb on my ideas for the lost primarchs. Not finalized, but close enough to realized I'm fine with discussing them.
