Meeting

Settings
A quiet cloudless night, calling to feel your own charm with a cool wind - a small number of lanterns and people in one of the districts allowed to fully enjoy it, without feeling blinded by the light and without making you feel embarrassed by your drooping shoulders. I would like to dissolve in this blue, called darkness, forever and leave the noisy worlds of demons and people without any help from myself. To leave, breaking Gwi-ma's plans for victory and actually betraying everyone, if they do not find a replacement in time. If only it were possible without the immediate death of many ... But for now, all that remains is to accept your own role and seek pleasure among people. A smirk touched his mouth and a quiet, full of poison from sarcasm, laughter cut through the night silence. «What a wonderful world, if I did not live here! And how crazy joy I feel now. So I would have died, twice...» Raising his head to the sky, he tried to express all his disappointment, all his hatred for his situation and both worlds through laughter and words. His back straightened, throwing off the unpleasant burden. But this was only a moment of freedom, tomorrow this would hide behind another smile for the fans, behind a heart made of fingers, behind the falsehood that he would put on and accept as a «role». He found himself laughing at himself, and everyone could see it! Or maybe he just wanted to convince himself that he hadn't gone too far, lost in the mask of a «romantic nerd» even before part of his memories were erased, and that at least one of his friends saw right through him and was simply silent, knowing how much lying had turned out to be too convenient for him personally... A ragged breath, similar to a frightened one, was heard. Mira, one of the hunters, froze on the opposite side of the road. Her shoulders were tense, and her eyes were closely following his every action. «Charming...» - a smile involuntarily appeared on his face, and warmth began to fill his chest. The demon closed his eyes and bowed his head, not feeling any particular danger. – «Are we going to continue meeting like this? We could...» - He didn't have time to finish, there was a sound of hunters taking out their weapons. «O-oh, a knife» - As soon as his eye caught sight of the familiar glowing blade, Romance turned around and ran to a busier part of the street, where the shops were located and it was easier to get lost. Behind him, he heard the sound of heels accelerating and clearly turning into a run. «She's also wearing heels!» - Laughter burst from his lips. Adrenaline was intoxicating his mind, forcing him to move without controlling himself, and rely only on reflexes and brief moments when the brain clung to the signs of shops. One of them was open. The door swung open with unusual force and abruptness – the demon’s figure slid inside and, deftly maneuvering between the customers, disappeared between two shelves near the cash registers and the exit before it had time to slam shut. «There’s no one in front of the cash register, great.» Bending down so that he wouldn’t be noticed due to his height, Romans adjusted his hair and covered his mouth with his hand in a fit of silent and hysterical laughter. The fact that there were keychains and other trinkets in front of him, suitable for couples, made the situation even more comical. Quickly bringing himself back to normal, the demon took off a couple of them and began to examine them, as if choosing something suitable for himself, but glancing at the large display window from time to time. Two keychains caught his eye as he looked for a place to put the ones he had recently picked up.in his hand. A raccoon figurine with a heart on its chest and a white rubber ribbon on one of the rings of the chain and, seemingly more refined, with a shiny pink and blue mother-of-pearl shell and a composition in the manner of bracelets made of transparent colored beads. A couple of seconds later, long bright pink hair flashed in the window, Romans grabbed the «necessary» keychains and waited until the door slammed from the enraged queen who entered the store and began to wander along the shelves, looking for him. When she almost reached his modest «shelter», Romans came out from the side close to the checkout and with a feigned confident look went to pay for the «purchases». - Are you in a hurry to please your girlfriend? - The cashier looked with a grin: «What a cheeky guy...» - Yeah, I'll be in another city in the morning. - Romans answered him with a smile and intonation, with which any convenient phrase acquires a double meaning. And then, taking the purchases, he turned around and left. As soon as the door closed, the bags from the keychains flew into the trash, and the demon walked into one of the gateways in the direction from which he had fled. «You and I have different ideas of what is pleasant.» - The polite smile gave way to concentration, and the madness from adrenaline - to a colder calculation. The darkness is his ally, and he does not intend to simply give up and run away: either he will come to an agreement and continue walking calmly, or ... Well, he will do everything to ensure that one of the hunters does not return home. Mira jumped out of the store and cautiously took a few steps. Every muscle in her was tense and silently tracking the slightest sign of the demon nearby. Golden eyes flashed in the gateway and a human-like silhouette disappeared around its turn. The huntress ran headlong after him and cut the darkness with her blade, briefly seeing Romance in the distance. She continued to pursue, but soon her brain was blinded by the thought: he CALLED her with his hands?! «And what a mocking smile!? …» – Mira stopped and put her weapon forward. She was being driven into a trap. Whatever was happening, she needed to get out quickly! There was a crash behind her. The Huntress looked there, illuminating the space with her blade. «Where did the pallets come from? And why are there so many of them?!» – Something touched her shoulder, and Mira turned sharply, trying to deliver a killing blow. No one was visible. Panic began to grip her brain. «Why did you run if you don’t know these places?! Especially since demons can teleport!!!» - Hey~ – A voice was heard around the corner. – Are you coming to kill me, Mira?... The Huntress approached the sound, intending to deliver a stealthy blow. It seemed that she had already seen the silhouette – one jump, and the demon would have been defeated. - Yes! – The blade cut through the air, but did not penetrate anyone’s flesh. - What a pity~ - The voice came from another place. - Such a cute girl... ~ - WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN?! - Patience was running out. Following the glittering eyes in fruitless attempts to attack, Mira came to a place similar to a crossroads, where her vision, which had begun to get used to the darkness, saw several alleys connecting together. «That's how he moved, and I couldn't notice the teleportation. But why did he...?» - She was suddenly grabbed in a strong grip, but the position of the hands resembled... a hug? - That I don't want to kill you now ~ - A whispering voice sounded right next to her ear. - But if you continue to try to do this to me, you will die. - What made you think that would scare me? - Mira tried to break free, but she was squeezed harder, as if in a vice. The air was knocked out of her chest, and something sharp touching her neck and drawing a line like a claw on her hand made her start to get more nervous. - If you die, you will not be able to set up the Golden Honmoon with your friends. So call off your weapon. I will stop holding you, and then we can talk calmly. Mira didn't want to give up. She retreated for a moment, so that as soon as she got free, she could cut the darkness with the newly summoned spear and see Romance's frightened face when the blade almost touched his neck - only a few millimeters were missing. The huntress brought down a series of blows on him, intending if not to hit, then to cut off the demon's escape routes. Her face was radiating rage, and the only thing left was to knock her off her feet in order to take the spear away or free up some space for herself to maneuver. Mira held the weapon tightly and even being on the ground, having hit her back, she tried to attack. Romance had to jump away from her to a safe distance, closer to one of the walls, to catch his breath and see ways to stop the fight. - Are you going to shake my spine like that?!~ – Mira smiled, showing her superiority and, apparently, trying to hide the pain. - IF YOU NEEDED AN EROTIC MASSAGE, YOU COULD JUST SAY SO!!! - What? – The girl’s momentary confusion allowed his to dodge the blow and grab the weapon by the shaft when it slid next to his side, and then sharply pull it towards herself, tearing it out of Mira’s hands. Throwing the spear as far as possible, Romance grabbed the huntress by the hands and, turning around with her, pressed her against the wall. - REVOKE THE WEAPON!!! - Otherwise what? – Mira looked with a challenge in her eyes. - Otherwise… – Romance thoughtfully tapped his fingers on Mira’s wrists. Then he raised them above the huntress's head and, crossing them, squeezed them with his hand, demonstrating his free other hand. - I will break through you in the stomach. In the best case, I will finish you off right away, in the worst case, I will leave you to die from blood loss. Another event may occur where you do not die, but you will not want to live from the injuries you received. I am not going to do this; I am just reminding you: there are ways to destroy you without claws or other demonic tinsel. - He looked into Mira's eyes, noticing the fear that, against the will of the huntress, began to draw unpleasant outcomes in her imagination. Then his gaze dropped lower, and the demon ran his fingers along her cheek, smirking when the huntress quietly growled at this action. - Take your hands off me. - So you accept a peaceful solution to the conflict? - Ugh... Yes, if it means that you will stop pawing at me! - The sound of a disappearing spear was heard from the side. - Oh, I'm sorry it looks like that to you - Romance let go of Mira and stepped back a little, keeping his hands at shoulder level. - I just wanted to survive. That's all, no spice~ - And that's why you did everything to piss me off? - The huntress smiled bitterly and took a step forward. Something jingled on her skirt and was apparently attached to one of her belt loops. - And what is this...? - Would you believe me if I started saying: «Hey, I don't want to hurt you! Let's just part ways nicely and continue walking like we haven't seen each other»? I seriously doubt it, considering that you pulled out a weapon after my first phrase!... Oh, and this is a keychain - Wha... Are you a fraud or something?! Take it off right now! - Okay... - The demon came up and, kneeling down, took off the trinket and, standing up, put it in his hand. - Although I thought you'd like the color. You can keep it, it's not poisoned. Mira sighed. - Why would I even think about something like that? And how do you think it should look from the outside? ... - It looked cute on you and it matches your outfit. So I don't see any reason why fans should be upset that you acquired it somewhere «off-screen.» - Romance looked away. - Unless they start thinking that you have someone... - Exactly. And that's a problem. - As you wish... In any case, - Demon extended his hand to her. - I suggest we get you out of here. So take my hand so you don't get lost somewhere along the way. And then you can decide whether to keep this thing or throw it in the trash~ I don't need it. Frowning, Mira placed her palm on Romance's hand and allowed him to squeeze it, then followed. After a while, they managed to get to the place where this whole chase began. - Are you in pain? - What are you talking about? ... - Your back. I think you hit yourself hard. You might need help... - No, I'm... fine. I've been through worse, you know. - She let go of his hand and looked at the metal chain in her hand with an iridescent shell and a bracelet attached to a ring with a chili pepper figurine. - Well, I'm glad. Until next time. - Without another word, the demon left. It seemed that there was a subway in that direction...
