Dear Tom, Thank you for listening to me! Finding you was the best thing that has ever happened to me or second to the best. You are the first boy that has ever listened to me. You will say it’s hard to believe when I have so many brothers… but you don’t know what it is like to live in a house full of boys! They never shut up, they never listen, and they smell like a racoon died in their jumpers… well, not exactly but you know what I mean. They always talk, and I mean always, and when they say that they’re listening they are just waiting for a pause to make it all about themselves. Take Percy, for instance. He asked me how I felt, and when I said that I felt fine he proceed to tell me about how terribly tired he was being a prefect and all, and how I couldn’t even begin to understand the amount of responsibility a prefect has towards the school, the teachers, the headmaster — by the way, headmaster has a new rope, it’s magenta and Sally said he looked like a happy ripe plum and I almost died of laughter! So, Percy was unbearable. Like all the boys, except you and H. I am writing to you while sitting under a big tree near the lake. Girls think that I have a special friend, you know, like a boyfriend I am always writing secret letters to, ha-ha, isn’t that funny? If they knew, they would have said that it’s like you and I are having a date now, near the lake. The lake is very nice today, you would have liked it. I have very long ginger hair. Do you think it’s better when a girl has long hair braided in two braids or loose? And what color of ribbon suits ginger? Sally says blue but I am not sure. What’s your favorite colour, Tom? Finding you was like finding a friend who is always with me and is always ready to listen. If only I could meet you in person! I would show you all my favourite places in Hogwarts… Do you think we would have been friends? Or maybe… Nevermind! I also wanted to thank you for your help with Potions. Professor Snape is so mean! I think he hates children. Why would he become a Hogwarts professor then? Sorry, I am blabbing. Please, don’t think that I’m such a terrible chatterbox in person. It’s just that I have finally found someone I could really talk to, and it’s amazing! I feel like nobody understands me the way you do. I want to say something silly. But I shouldn’t.
