«Happy news! Emperor Palpatine has been overthrown!» All the news sources, screens, and holograms were abuzz with such headlines, making people genuinely happy. To think how fast the news was spreading across the Galaxy: everything happened just a few hours ago, to be exact, a little less than a day, and the first rumors began to spread in five hours. It started with officers, who passed the information to people with lower ranks, and those passed it to soldiers.... And so it went on and on. People, of course, were happy, even if they had guessed in advance about what was happening. But who would be the new Emperor? Such a question made the society think. However, their doubts faded quickly enough when Lord Vader came on the line. The dark figure stood majestically in Palpatine's former office on Coruscant, looking through the camera at everyone gathered. — Palpatine was gone. My son and I will now rule the galaxy in his stead. — a young man a little shorter than Vader came into view. A kind face, a frail yet strong physique, coupled with a truly powerful image of the Sith Lord at his side, somehow created not a sense of fear, but a deep respect along with a sense of security and stability. It seemed that they could indeed bring order to the galaxy and make it blossom after the tyrannical (and it could be called that) rule of Sidious. — We will bring peace and prosperity to the Empire. We will bring freedom, justice and security. Whereupon the connection was cut off. Of course, there would still be an official introduction, but... Still, what an impression they gave! It was as if the long lost Balance was back again, blending perfectly. Which meant that all the issues raised were highly likely to be sorted out and some action taken. And yet the people had no idea how close their new rulers were. Not just father and son, no. Though, of course, they liked the fact of kinship very much, given that they were both in a romantic relationship. It fueled the fire of passion and truly sincere love. Once between them there was a conversation about keeping the secrecy of the relationship, but in the end... For now it was decided to just wait. On the one hand, wanted to open up, knowing that the first time the public will be perplexed and even condemn, and on the other hand it would be easier to keep such a secret. But, perhaps, to the first option both of them were most eager. They just had to wait, prepare everyone and then reveal themselves completely. There was plenty of time, so.... So, the announcement is made. People (and more) are informed. And that means we can show our son the planet. At least superficially - Luke had only been to Tatooine, Hoth, Dagobah, and Bespin before. His black cloak fluttered as he walked: Vader decided not to drag his feet and give a small introductory tour. After all, this was where he had spent most of his life, which meant he knew the planet in question very well. Perhaps he could thank the Jedi Order for that - they had sheltered, raised, and taught the man a lot of things (even after Vader's transition to the dark side, he didn't deny it). Let the hatred for the Jedi, not counting Luke, remained, but they really gave a lot. Maybe that's why the Temple building, previously burned down, was then rebuilt as similar as possible. Some records, however, had survived, which couldn't help but please Luke at least. The Admirals probably didn't understand how Vader could be loyal to the Jedi beside him. The attempts to bend the younger Skywalker had stopped long ago, about a few months after the meeting on Bespin. The plan to overthrow himself had been in preparation for practically two years. But how long had everyone involved been waiting for this moment! Everyone had sworn allegiance to Vader and Luke beforehand, knowing that they would not fail. And they had both kept their word. The only thing left to do was to draft the first set of innovations. And edit what was already in place. Because as much as they both disliked Palpatine's rule, even Luke, who had been in the Rebellion before, recognized that there were some good things about it. At least the quality of the tech. At the thought of tech, Luke smiled involuntarily, remembering something. A funny situation, really: one day Vader had decided to give him a starship. He still didn't understand why, by the way, but nevertheless, he had a small squadron with him now (how the ship had transformed into a squadron was a good question). At first, of course, it was embarrassing and unusual: I had experience before, but not so grandiose. And then somehow my father suggested choosing fighter planes. Both of them agreed on good old Nabuan fighters from the first time. Sleek, light ships, just like Luke. It was the first time he'd seen them, but he knew at a glance that they were the same ones. Star Defenders, affectionately known as Stars, were now in the Empire's arsenal. They were actually diplomats rather than a military unit, although, admittedly, Luke personally selected pilots who were good at both combat and diplomacy. And they were rarely sent anywhere, only when necessary. To Vader, these guys reminded him of the 501st Legion he'd commanded as a Jedi. Even the colors were blue! True, more clones were created, so there weren't any. But actually the idea of clones was a very good one. Maybe they'll even bring it back. It's worth considering and weighing the pros and cons. — It's beautiful. — Luke said, looking at the setting sun from a small balcony and leaning on the handrail, hiding among the skyscrapers. Part of the planet was gradually sinking into night time. The first lights of bars, restaurants, clubs, and other places where different races gathered at night had already come on. A light breeze occasionally played with his blonde hair, causing Vader to have a keen desire to stroke it. Who was he to ignore his own thoughts? So a strong hand lay affectionately on the soft hair, stroking and running through it. Luke smiled gently in return and caressed the palm of his hand contentedly. Vader's heavy breathing beside him didn't bother Skywalker at all. First, it was a necessity due to the injuries he had received on Mustafar. Secondly, Luke could never get tired of it or get annoyed by it: after all, it was his own father. Why would something like that even bother him? And finally, he even liked the twist. For some reason Vader, realizing that he couldn't sleep with that kind of breathing, went to another room, even though Luke had said many times that he didn't have to do that. His father was adamant and silently left, leaving his son to stare reproachfully at his back, covered by a long black cloak. Well, what could be done. It was better not to argue with him unnecessarily. Yes, and Luke, admittedly, liked such care. Maybe it was due to the fact that in childhood his aunt and uncle didn't take much care of him — yes, they fed him, raised him, educated him, but... They didn't touch him unnecessarily. But the boy is clearly not spoiled, he knows how and what to grow, how to collect dew from the moisture collector, even knows how to cook. Not a man, but gold. That's probably why Vader never gave him to anyone. Though he could understand it: they'd only just met. The sun had finally set, giving way to the stars in the night sky and the bright illumination of the skyscrapers. Still, it's a beautiful place. I can't believe that now with a high probability they won't have to hide on various bases, planets, even asteroids. Now everything will be different.
