revival

Notes:
apologize for my absence. i was busy with practice and study.
It was raining on Kamino, as it always did. A strong wind blew in his face, but Vader, protected by his mask (perhaps one of the few moments when he was grateful for it), was unfazed.
The fabric of his cloak was instantly soaked as he stepped out of his personal shuttle. Nothing had changed since his last visit. However, the weather did not concern him; he had come for a specific purpose.
Vader always had a special connection with the clones, especially with his 501st Legion, which remained loyal to him until the end. They were great guys, but Palpatine's reign gradually eradicated the artificially created humans from the army. However, it was time to revive the idea of the Grand Army of the Republic. The Sith Lord noticed that the quality of the stormtroopers' training had significantly declined over the past twenty years, despite their advanced armor technology. This was because the clones were superior in every way. It seems that the former teacher decided that it would be better to invest a lot of money in the Death Star, which was later destroyed after only a couple of years of operation, but to reduce spending on the army. Vader chose to remain silent at the time, carefully concealing his true feelings. However, now that he was finally making decisions, it was time to revive the Grand Army. Perhaps he would even make the 501st Legion an elite unit, closest to the Emperor, as he was now. Of course, no one could replace Rex, but he would try to find a suitable replacement. As well as a suitable donor. It was unlikely that the previous DNA data had been preserved, and finding a new donor required a lot of effort and nerves. Fortunately, Vader knew that he wanted a Mandalorian as the new face of the clones.
But first we need to come to an agreement. Maybe they won't agree. After all he's done.…
The Dark Lord quickened his pace, pushing aside his dark thoughts. He should have thought about how to make peace with Luke. But he felt that his son understood him, and he didn't want to go through his head at all. Anyway… This is probably the only person whose head he basically didn't want to get into.
Okay, maybe he really overreacted. At the very least, he should have consulted or warned them.
The factory doors slid open, revealing an almost snow-white interior. Once upon a time, there were many more people here, and it was much noisier... It was much more cozy, somehow.
However, all is not lost.
"Good evening, Lord Vader," a melodious voice said behind him.

Luke was disassembling another droid. It was small, but for some reason it was quite problematic. Or maybe it was just because of the thoughts that filled his head.
His hands trembled treacherously as he made particularly small movements. Soon, the droid made a quiet squeak and moved. The work was done.
The technical marvel rolled away as soon as Luke covered its metal innards with a lid.
The Jedi washed the machine oil from his left palm and looked out the window.
Coruscant was beautiful.
Endless cities, never-ending streams of speeders and other vehicles...
It was beautiful. No wonder his father always said he liked it here. They were so similar. Too similar. The same facial features, the same personality... Only Luke was much softer and more loyal, which sometimes worked against him. Vader had recently become the other half, the one who contrasted with warmth and kindness. However, no one knew how he could be alone with only one person.
Father…
Luke was bored. Truth. He wasn't angry at all, at least not anymore. Vader probably thought that with his peaceful decisions, his son took after his mother. The younger Skywalker, however, did not know whether this was true or not, but judging by his father's stories… Maybe that's true , but we should still make peace.
As if to confirm this thought, there was a short beep from the holoreceiver. The difference between this particular one and the others was that Vader and Luke had gathered them for a private communication. They had even set up a private channel to ensure that no one could eavesdrop.
Of course, the Jedi knew who had called him. Remember the sun...
A hologram of Vader appeared in front of the blue-eyed man, showing him up to the waist. They stared at each other in silence for a few seconds.
"It's good to see and hear you, Father." Luke was the first to break the silence, looking into the black visors with a sincere, warm smile. "How did it go?"
His heart beat a little faster.
"More than successful." Vader tilted his head to the side, his amber eyes fixed on his son. Oh. He had no idea how good it was. "I'll make an official announcement in a few standard weeks. The search for a donor will begin shortly."
"Understood. You did well." It's a pity I wasn't there. Skywalker replied. His smile grew even warmer. "When do you plan to return?"
"I think it's in the near future. I need to settle some matters here."
Luke nodded in understanding. There was still time for them to meet.
"I'll be waiting for you."
They were no stranger to being this far apart, but... Even a Jedi's iron-clad patience could run out.
And he was a master of waiting. All for him.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Maybe... it's for the best."
They spoke for a few more minutes, and then the room fell silent.
Luke stared out the window again, lost in thought...

A few years ago.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Skywalker asked, looking at his father.
They were on the Executor, hidden from prying eyes in Vader's private chambers. Surely everyone thought he had decided to administer some special torture or even eliminate the young rebel. Who would have thought that at that moment, a large, gloved hand was gently stroking the hair of the very rebel who was nestled comfortably on his shoulder?
"It would have happened sooner or later. Palpatine is too old, and his new laws have been absurd in recent years. But he was a good senator once upon a time." Vader emphasized the last word as if in mockery. Everything had gone wrong since Palpatine became Supreme Chancellor. And he, Vader, had trusted him... Only to become the cause of his own nightmare. Maybe Obi-Wan was right to keep his children away from him. He probably wouldn't have been a good father in his current state. But at least they wouldn't have gone hungry... And the Empire would have been the first to recognize Luke's potential as a pilot, inherited from his father.
With his son in his life, the nightmares had surprisingly disappeared. And his mind was surprisingly quiet. For the first time in twenty years...
Had he finally found his true angel?
"You're right," Luke agreed. "Then I'll help you as much as I can."
"You already are. You have no idea how much..."
Jedi didn't respond, but he smiled sheepishly.
Vader had been planning to overthrow his master for a long time. At first, he had doubts, considering all that Palpatine had given him. But then he remembered all that Palpatine had taken away.
His health, his wife, his children... Even his entire body.
The Dark Lord didn't understand how he was still alive. Physically, he shouldn't have survived such injuries. But the Force seemed to be helping and supporting him. Even after all he'd done.
She seemed to understand and forgive, protecting him. Despite his sins, he never denied the existence of the Force, even though he had long believed that the Light Side was too simple and unexplored.
Looking at Luke, Vader realized how wrong he had been. Perhaps it was due to the amount of midi-chlorians in his son's blood.
But Luke had fully dedicated himself to the Light. In different times, he would have been a master... Yes, he was young. But his wisdom and character were beyond his years. And Vader believed in and loved his child.
"What's your plan?"
