Gummy was not a religious person, but right now she was praying to every deity she could think of, because Cardigan of all people was in the kitchen right now, and unlike Ceobe, she was not here to eat. “Am I doing this right?” Cardigan asked, her apron completely covered in flour, since she was mixing it a little bit too hard. “Yes, don’t stop mixing though, it needs to be the right consistency.” “Mhm~” Cardigan nodded cheerfully, and kept mixing. Miraculously, she managed to not spill any of the batter itself before it was ready. “Maybe I should bake them?” Gummy asked sheepishly. “No, I need to do this myself!” Cardigan was very insistent on this, and so she turned the stove on and placed a pan onto it. She was already about to pour some batter onto the pan, but Gummy stopped her. “You have to heat the pan up first! And you forgot the oil too!” Gummy wasn’t angry or anything, she was afraid of the entire kitchen burning down with them. She took the pan off the stove, and poured some sunflower oil onto it before placing it back. “Oh, right, sorry~” After 3 minutes, Gummy carefully dripped a few droplets of cold water onto the pan, and they instantly vaporized with a sizzling sound, indicating that the pan and oil were hot enough. Cardigan scooped up a ladle of the batter, and poured it onto the oiled up pan, spreading it evenly across the surface. After a few minutes, she flipped the soon-to-be-pancake with a wooden paddle, and another few minutes later, the now-complete-pancake was moved to a plate. The first few pancakes were a bit thick, but eventually Cardigan managed to perfect how much batter was needed for one.

“Happy Birthday again!” Merry said to you when you entered the dorm that you two were sharing. She walked up to you and hugged you tightly. “Thank you Merry, I love you.” You said as you hugged her back. You noticed a plate of freshly baked pancakes on the table then. “Hm?” You walked up to the table and realized that your eyes did not deceive you, those were indeed Ursus-style pancakes. “Wow, did you bake them yourself?” You asked. “Yep, you like them?” Merry responded with a proud grin. “Well, there is only one way to know if I like them or not.” You said before going to the bathroom to wash your hands. When you returned to the living room, you noticed that Merry had placed 2 plates for you, as well as placed a small jar of honey to go with the pancakes. “Gummy said that people in Ursus eat pancakes with a variety of things, but I could only find honey here on Rhodes Island.” “It’s good, but i will go prepare some tea, because pancakes with honey might be a bit too sweet, and tea will help with that.” You responded to her, before going to the small kitchenette that was attached to the living room without even a door to separate it from the rest of the room.

You definitely liked the pancakes that Merry baked. They really made you feel like you were back in your family home. Merry only made a few since you still had a big dinner with the rest of Reserve A4 planned for the evening, and eating a lot now would definitely affect how much you would be able to eat then. You kept telling Merry how much you liked everything and how you were so happy to have her as your girlfriend. She couldn’t help but grin this entire time. “Oh, right, there is one more thing.” You said. “Huh? What is it? Did I make a mistake baking them or something?” Merry was slightly worried about this. “No, no, nothing like that. It’s just that I also have a gift of sorts to you” You explained to her. “Really? But it’s your birthday and not mine.” She was clearly curious about why would you want to gift her something today. You picked up a small box out of your pocket and placed it on the table. When you opened the box, it revealed a flat golden ring with a bright purple gem in the middle of it. Merry carefully grabbed the ring and brought it closer to her eyes to inspect it. There were multiple small snowflake shaped grooves along the entire surface of the metal, and the gem had the same tint of purple as her eyes. “It’s beautiful…” Was all she could say as she put the ring on her ring finger. “But this ring, uh, is it a…” She couldn’t finish her sentence as words got stuck in her throat. “Yes, it is. Will you marry me Merry?” You asked as you gently grabbed her hands and looked her straight into her eyes. But Merry could only snort as she heard the way you phrased your proposal. “Pfft, I knew you would make that pun.” She giggled. “And I knew you would like it.” “What, the pun or the ring?” She asked teasingly. “Both.” You responded with a tease of your own. “And you are correct about that~” She said as she gave you another hug and then added “And yes, i will…MARRY you~” Both of you bursting into laughter.
