Chapter 1

Settings
The snow fell gently outside the frosted windows of the cozy little café, where Sofia sat with her hands wrapped around a steaming cup of peppermint tea. She stared out at the winter wonderland, her heart fluttering with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Today was Valentine’s Day, and though she had always been skeptical of the holiday, something about this year felt different.   Damian Knight had been on her mind all morning. They had been friends for years, their bond growing stronger with each passing season. But lately, Sofia had noticed something shifting between them—a warmth in his gaze, a tenderness in his touch, and a way he seemed to understand her without her having to say a word. It was as if their souls were intertwined, two halves of a whole that had finally found each other.   The bell above the café door chimed, pulling the girl from her thoughts. She turned, and there he was. Damian stood in the doorway, his dark hair dusted with snowflakes, his blue eyes scanning the room until they landed on her. A soft smile spread across his face, and Sofia felt her breath catch in her throat.    “Hey,” he said as he approached, his voice warm and familiar. He slid into the seat across from her, his coat still damp from the snow. “Sorry I’m late. The roads were a bit slippery.”    Sofia shook her head, her cheeks flushing. “You’re fine. I was just enjoying the view.”   The guy's gaze lingered on her for a moment, his expression softening. “Me too.”   They sat in comfortable silence for a while, the kind of silence that only soulmates could share. It wasn’t awkward or heavy; it was peaceful, as if their presence alone was enough to fill the space between them.   “I have something for you,” Damian said finally, reaching into his coat pocket. He pulled out a small, intricately wrapped box and slid it across the table to her.   The girl's eyes widened. “Damian, you didn’t have to—”   “I wanted to,” he interrupted gently. “Open it.”   With trembling fingers, she unwrapped the box and lifted the lid. Inside was a delicate golden necklace, its pendant shaped like a star. Her breath hitched as she traced the edges of the pendant, her heart swelling with emotion.   “It’s beautiful,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.   The gue reached across the table, his fingers brushing against hers as he took the necklace from the box. “May I?”   Sofia nodded, her heart pounding as he stood and moved behind her. She felt the warmth of his hands as he fastened the necklace around her neck, his touch sending shivers down her spine. When he returned to his seat, his eyes met hers, and she saw something in them that made her chest ache—a depth of love and devotion that took her breath away.   “Sofia,” he began, his voice steady but filled with emotion, “I’ve known for a long time that you’re my soulmate. You’re the person who makes me feel whole, who understands me in a way no one else ever could. I don’t want to spend another Valentine’s Day pretending that we’re just friends. I want to be with you, in every way that matters.”   Tears welled in the girl's beautiful green eyes as she reached across the table, her hand finding his. “Damian, I feel the same way. You’re my other half, the person I’ve been waiting for without even realizing it.”   His smile was radiant as he stood, pulling her to her feet. They stood there, inches apart, the world around them fading away. He cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs brushing away her tears.   “I love you, Sofia Langley,” he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. “More than anything in this world.”   “I love you too, my Damian Knight,” she replied, her heart overflowing with joy.   And then, as the snow continued to fall outside, Damian leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. The kiss was soft and tender, a perfect reflection of the love they shared. It was a kiss that spoke of promises and forever, of two souls that had finally found their way home.    When they finally pulled away, he rested his forehead against hers, his eyes shining with adoration. “You’re my everything. My heart, my soul, my forever.”   The girl smiled shyly, her heart full. “And you’re mine. Always.”   In that moment, surrounded by the warmth of their love, they knew that they had found something rare and beautiful—a love that would last a lifetime. And as they walked hand in hand into the snowy night, they knew that their souls would always be intertwined, two halves of a whole, forever united.
