Chapter 1

Settings
Through shadows of words that linger in the air, I shouted at you, though I never meant to scare. I longed for your presence each day that went by, But you turned away, like a whispered goodbye. You say she's just a friend, nothing more, just a chat, Yet I see in your eyes there’s something more than that. You shine like the morning, so kind and so bright, While I feel like a shadow, lost deep in the night. You laugh with such ease, but I’m burdened with pain, I tell all my friends that this friendship's in vain. You seem ever happy, while I bear the cost, When you share in your joy, I feel like I’ve lost. Like a puppet on strings, I dance to your tune, Unspoken our friendship, a dark, haunting rune. The ache in my heart grows heavier each day, When your laughter surrounds me, I’m lost in dismay. You don’t know the bitterness that shadows my thought, As I struggle alone with the battles I fought. I cannot walk away; you are my delight, Yet your happiness stings like a thorn in the night. Words fail to express the hurt and despair, But inside me a void where your warmth used to flare. I become my own horror, a rage I can’t tame, While in secret, our friendship sparks flickers of flame. So here we both linger, in silence, alone, You’ll flourish beside her, while I turn to stone. Together in quiet, lost words left unspun, Unspoken friendship—a sorrow begun.
