Chapter 1

While you're wrapped in melancholy's embrace, And sadness looms like a cloud overhead, I'll shine like dawn, with a radiant face, With happiness flowing, a river widespread. While you read the glass, so cold and clear, I'm on the couch, cozy, PG13, Everything around me feels warm and near, In my world of pink and fiery sheen. Autumn's the season of blankets and light, Of candles, of shows, of friends, and of dreams. My friend and I laugh with all our might, And life feels more vibrant than it seems. I leap in the leaves like I did as a child, Running from caretakers, far and free, In my heart, not gloom, but a legacy wild, Of joy, of light, and sweet revelry. Let the autumn wind whirl and play, Let the rain drum its tune on the pane, I'll hum with my joy, come what may, Like a bee in the blooms, never wane. And if someone says, "You're strange, it's absurd, To find joy in autumn, it's a jest!" I'll live like a volcano, undeterred, Burning away autumn's unrest. For life isn't just sorrow and pain, It's the rustle of leaves underfoot, It's the friendships that in our hearts remain, And laughter that flows, like the sea's salute.
