Me.
It was a normal morning on the planet Belogorye. Rostik and I were decorating the castle for the wedding of our sister Zhenya, who was proposed to by the Supreme Mage of Belogorye Viren yesterday. Zhenya was very happy.
- Do you think we decorated it beautifully? - asked Rostik.
- Yes, - I answered.
Zhenya.
I spent the whole day in my chambers, preparing to marry the man of my dreams and the love of my life. And then in the evening the bell rang, informing the whole kingdom about our wedding with Viren. My dad, the king, took my hand.
- You are so beautiful, daughter, - my dad kissed me on the cheek. - Viren is a wonderful man, you will become wonderful rulers of Belogorye.
- Thank you, dad, - I said.Dad took my arm and we left the room.
Everyone looked at us when my dad led us to the altar, where the most beautiful man this land has ever seen stood. Dad passed me into Viren's arms, kissed me on the cheek, and shook Viren's hand.
"We are gathered here today to tie the knot between two beautiful people, Princess Eugenia and the High Mage Viren," the priest said. "I can see in your eyes how much they love each other, and how that love is reflected in each of your eyes when you look at them. Is there anyone here who is against their marriage? Speak now or be silent forever.
When no one answered, the priest told us to put the rings on each other. Viren put mine on, and I put them on his finger.
"By the power vested in me by the planet Belogorie and magic, I pronounce you husband and wife," the priest said. "You may kiss the bride."
Viren took my face in his arms and kissed me. I happily responded. We kissed for a long time, everyone clapped, and Beit, wearing a top hat, sang a serenade written by the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The celebration began, the whole of Belogorye celebrated my wedding with Viren, and when we were tired, Viren and I retired to our chambers, where we tore off our royal clothes and gave in to passion.
Rayla.
I was looking for my target, Nubis. Emperor Viren ordered me to kill him. I searched every corner of the castle, which was very richly decorated. Pushing one door, I found myself in an incredible patio. The patio floors were wooden, and there was even a pool that overlooked the rest of the city.
Whoever Nubis was, he was rich.
I stopped in the kitchen, catching the faint, distinctive sound of running water. I smiled thinly. My target was still here. I followed the noise to what she assumed must be the bathroom, and my suspicions were confirmed. Nubis was taking a shower or perhaps a bath. Near Nubis were girls dressed as belly dancers. They belly danced for him, and then Nubis came up to them, undressed them, and started fucking them. Rich people liked baths and harems, right?
It didn't matter. I would wait for him in the castle before I pounced on him.
Not for the first time, I missed my friend Danya. I was sad that I would never have the chance to know. He left suddenly, without saying a word to me.I positioned myself in the darkness at the end of the hallway and waited for Nubis to come out of the bathroom. Finally, a man came out of the bathroom, wearing trousers and pulling a sleeveless shirt over his head. I peeked out of the closet behind him and walked out, walking lightly, following him and creating bloody lightsabers with magic. Nubis walked down the hallway back to the main hall, completely unaware of the shadow that was following him through the castle.
He was young and fit, not exactly muscular, but there was a lean strength in his back, shoulders, and buttocks that I couldn't help but notice. His hair was blond, damp and tangled from his shower, and rivulets of water ran gently down his back, some soaking into the fabric of his shirt. I briefly wondered what the rest of him looked like. She wasn't a flirt, but there was nothing wrong with looking, was there?I got close enough and swung my bloody lightsabers, the cold hiss of their activation causing a definite tremor in my hands. In an instant, I had the blades wrapped around the front of Nubis's neck. The boy froze in place, lowering his chin and looking at the scarlet blades now neatly wrapped around his jugular.I growled over my shoulder, almost pressing myself against my target's back and holding him as close as I could.
- Nubis. It's so nice to finally meet you.
- You can always kill me, - the guy said. - You can do anything.
The rest of my composure evaporated as his name slipped off my tongue.
- Danya?
