Seven years ago.
It was still dark. The sky was dotted with stars and a thin crescent moon. A light breeze blew, causing the leaves to rustle softly, and some were blown off the branches and carried into the open window of the room where a 10-year-old girl sat, looking thoughtfully at the whole scene. Her chestnut hair fluttered slightly in the wind, and her gray eyes stared at a single point—the stars.
“Lia, let's go. Mom is calling,” said a girl of about 12 or 13 with dark chestnut hair as she entered the room.
“Coming,” replied Lia, jumping off the chair she was sitting on and running after the girl, who was her sister. The girls entered a small room, which was the living room. Their mother was sitting in an armchair by the fireplace, above which hung a tapestry depicting their family, reading a book. It should be noted that Liah and her sister Fennec were the daughters of two senators. These senators were not very wealthy, but they were not poor either. The head of the family was named Arthur Shilly, and their mother was Asmi Shilly. They lived on the planet Malkor in the city of Caldar. It was not the capital of the planet, but rather an area considered to be a city. The people living in Caldar loved their senators. Lia lived at a time when the entire galaxy was on the brink of war between the Great Galactic Republic and the Separatists. Malcor remained neutral for a long time, but when the girl was 8 years old, the Malcor government decided to join the Republic. Lia really liked the clone troopers, how they fought, wielded weapons, and feared nothing. Lia read everything about the clones on the holonet and learned that they were divided into legions and squads, and that each legion had its own Jedi general. Lia also wanted to fight and protect the weak. Her father had been the commander-in-chief of the royal guard in the past, but then he was elected senator of Caldar in the elections, and now he decided to pass on all his knowledge and skills to his younger daughter, Lia. But Asmi was against all this. She wanted Lia and Fennec to continue their family business and become senators in the future. Fennec was obedient to her mother in everything, unlike her sister, who flatly refused to wear dresses on a regular basis, fly with her mother to Senate meetings, and especially engage in politics. So Asmi called the girls and told them that tomorrow they would have to go to the capital for a meeting and that the girls would go with her. Lia, of course, did not like this and, wishing her mother good night, rushed to her bedroom. Fennec quietly agreed with her mother's intentions and slowly followed her sister.

(from Lia's perspective)
That night, I couldn't sleep properly. It seemed to me that if I fell asleep, something terrible might happen. I turned and looked at my sister. She was sleeping peacefully in the bed next to me. I listened and checked to see if she was breathing. Then I remembered tomorrow's trip and frowned. I decided that tomorrow I would get up early and hide somewhere in the house so that they would leave without me. Or I would run away. Just in case, I decided to pack my things. After gathering everything I needed, I checked on my sister again and went to bed.

The next morning, I woke up to noise outside the window. Still half asleep, I got up and went to the window. What I saw there shocked me. There were lots of people standing in front of our house. A crowd! They were all shouting and holding signs that read “Down with the Republic!”, ‘Neutrality’, “We want justice!” and so on. I noticed that some of them had weapons. A sudden panic began to overwhelm me. I turned around to call my sister, but she wasn't in the room. I ran out of the room. I ran down the hallway, calling for my parents and sister, but there was only silence in response. No one was home. In utter despair, I decided to go up to the roof, but what I saw there sent my childish mind into complete shock. Right in the middle of the crowd stood... a Jedi! But his sword was strange. It was different from the swords I had seen in the holonet. It was red. That's right! It was a Sith (my dad had told me about them once) and they brought him out. No. They pushed my parents out. They started talking about something. Dad was emotionally arguing with the Sith, while Mom stood silently, holding Dad's hand tightly. And then... the Sith... killed my parents! His blood-red sword pierced both bodies at once. I couldn't believe it. I wanted to scream, but something was stopping me. It was as if I had lost my voice. Burning tears welled up in my eyes. It was the first time I had encountered the death of people close to me. I realized that I had to run. Run as fast as I could. I quickly went downstairs, grabbed my things, and ran through the back door. That horrible image was still in my head... Then I saw Fennec. She was standing right at the exit of the back door.
“Fennec! Stop! We need to leave immediately!” I shouted, “That Sith... he...he killed our parents! We have to run, as fast as we can!!!” But Fennec just looked at me coldly with a cold stare. She had a gun in her hands.
“I'm sorry, sister.”
At that moment, there was a deafening shot. Something hit me and I lost consciousness. Darkness fell...
