Lisa stood on the podium, holding a gold medal in her hands. Her face shone with happiness and pride for winning the national fencing tournament, a goal she had worked towards for a long time. Winning this competition opens doors to many universities.
The crowd applauded, and among them stood Jennie, looking at Lisa with admiration. For her, Lisa was more than just a friend; she was something more—something Jennie dreamed about every night.
When the award ceremony ended, the fox headed to the locker room. Jennie decided to wait for her at the exit. She felt her heart beat faster at the thought of the upcoming conversation. All these months she had hidden her feelings, but today, after the fox’s triumph, she wanted to tell her everything. She had waited for this moment for so long.
**During the Competition**
The hall was filled with tension as Lisa stepped onto the fencing strip. Jennie sat in the front row, clenching her fists in hopes of her friend’s victory. Lisa looked focused and confident, her movements smooth and precise. She was a master of her craft.
The first match was tough; the opponent was experienced and agile. But Lisa remained calm, her technique and endurance allowing her to control the situation. Jennie watched her every move, her heart beating in unison with the strikes of the saber.
- Go, Lisa! You can do it! — Jennie shouted, supporting her with all her heart.
In the second match, Lisa faced a stronger opponent. It seemed he anticipated her moves, and several times the fox was on the brink of defeat. But at the most critical moment, she gathered her strength, remembered all her training, and delivered the decisive blow. The crowd erupted in applause as Lisa won. But this was only the beginning.
Then came the final match, the most intense of all. Only the best make it to the final, and Lisa was one of them.
Lisa and her opponent went point for point, each strike precise and quick. Jennie could barely breathe from the excitement. As the match neared its end, Lisa executed a brilliant maneuver, delivering the winning blow. The hall exploded with joyful cheers, and the fox raised her hand in victory.
After the matches and the award ceremony, Lisa approached Jennie, all glowing and excited. Jennie couldn’t hold back her smile as the fox hugged her tightly.
- Did you see that? I won! — Lisa exclaimed joyfully, holding Jennie in her arms.
- Of course I saw it. You were magnificent, Lisa, — Jennie replied, feeling her heart melt with happiness for her friend. They decided to celebrate the victory.
They headed to a small café nearby to celebrate. Lisa couldn’t stop talking about her feelings during the final match, and Jennie listened, admiring her every move, every word.
But despite the joy of victory, Lisa couldn’t help but notice that something was bothering Jennie. They were sitting in the café, enjoying hot chocolate and pastries, when the fox decided to ask the question that had been bothering her.
- Jennie, are you okay? — Lisa asked, leaning closer. — You look a little tense.
Jennie took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. She looked at Lisa, feeling her heart start to beat faster.
- Lisa, I just… I’m thinking about how proud I am of you, — she finally said, trying to smile. — You really deserve this victory. You’ve worked hard for this, and now you’ve finally achieved it!
Lisa smiled, but her eyes remained cautious. She felt that Jennie was hiding something, but she didn’t want to pressure her.
- Thank you, Jennie. You always support me so much, — she said softly. — It means a lot to me.
They continued their evening, discussing future plans and reminiscing about moments from the past. But deep down, Jennie knew that sooner or later she would have to confess her feelings.

After the celebration, they went for a walk around the city at night. Lisa walked beside Jennie, feeling the warmth of her presence.
- Jennie, thank you for everything. You’ve always supported me, even when I doubted myself, — Lisa said, stopping and looking at Jennie with gratitude.
Jennie took a deep breath, gathering all her courage. This was the moment she had been waiting for so long.
- Lisa, I have to tell you something, — she began, feeling her voice tremble.
Lisa looked at her, surprised by her serious tone, but decided to stay silent and listen.
- I’ve wanted to tell you this for a long time, but I didn’t know how… Lisa, I love you. Not just as a friend. I’m in love with you. You’re incredible, a ray of sunshine in my life. When you’re around, all my problems fade into the background, and I can rely on you. I can’t imagine what I’d do without you, — Jennie said, looking straight into Lisa’s eyes.
Lisa froze for a moment, her face filled with surprise; she hadn’t expected to hear that. But then her eyes softened, and she moved closer to Jennie.
- Jennie, I love you too. I just didn’t know how to tell you. I can’t be without you either. You always support me, you’re always there when things are tough. You helped me with my studies when I got too deep into sports, — Lisa replied, her eyes shining with happiness. She couldn’t imagine the evening ending any better.
They stood on the quiet street, bathed in the light of the street lamps, and the world around them seemed to stand still. Jennie and the fox took a step towards each other, and their lips met in a tender kiss, full of all the feelings they had hidden for so long.

The next day after the confession, everything seemed different. Jennie and Lisa met at practice, their eyes sparkling with new feelings. It was a day off, so Jennie, as usual, sat on the bench, watching the fox, who seemed to move with even more grace and confidence.
Regardless of yesterday’s competition, Lisa came to practice. That’s what set Lisa apart; no matter what, she would come to practice. She lived for this sport and couldn’t live without it and Jennie.
After finishing practice, they decided to go to a small café where they could talk and discuss their feelings.
- I’m so glad I finally confessed to you, — Jennie said, leaning on Lisa who was sitting next to her. — All this time, I was afraid I might lose you if you didn’t feel the same.
- I felt the same, — Lisa replied, holding Jennie closer. — Every time I stepped onto the strip, I thought about you. You were always my support, and I couldn’t imagine my life without you.
They spent the whole day together, walking around the city and enjoying each other’s company. Now that their feelings were mutual, every minute spent together felt special.
In the evening, they returned to Lisa’s house. She invited Jennie to stay for dinner, and they spent the time cooking together and laughing at their clumsy attempts to follow recipes.
When night fell over the city, they sat on the balcony, wrapped in warm blankets, and looked at the stars.
- Lisa, I’m so happy that we’re together now, — Jennie said quietly, resting her head on the fox’s shoulder.
- Me too, Jennie. We’ve been through so much together, and now I know that nothing can tear us apart, — Lisa replied, hugging her tighter.
They sat in silence, enjoying the moment, knowing that a bright future awaited them. Their hearts beat in unison, and the world around them seemed full of possibilities and hope.
