Chapter 4

Settings
To say that the day started well is the same as blatantly lying, and Peter, as is already known, doesn't know how to lie. He overslept, stuck studying Spanish that he hated to the brim of his brain. As a result, he fell asleep at three o'clock in the morning. It’s worth noting that he didn’t understand damn Spanish at all, unlike many other school subjects, and it managed to ruin half his life and his report card. But that was half the story, or at least one third of everything that happened that day. If you had asked him in the morning whether this day would be the worst in his life, he would have answered: “No, of course, what could be worse than yesterday,” but life unpleasantly surprised him once again. While hastily packing his backpack, which he had forgotten to pack the night before, Parker saw, or, more correctly, didn't saw, a physics notebook. How this happened, he didn't understand. Running around the room in confusion and remembering that he definitely done his homework, it finally dawned on him that he had simply forgotten it in the tower, or more specifically in Stark’s workshop. Wonderful. In general, if you think about it this way, the day immediately went in an extremely crooked direction. What could be better than a bad mark for unfinished homework? For what was done. But no one will believe that he did it. The teacher hears hundreds of times a day about the «forgotten notebook» from those who simply didn't do their homework. Putting on a sweatshirt, Peter remembered the schedule at the same time. Physics, it seems, was the second lesson, after that there were five more; He definitely late for the first one. The last one, definitely, is P.E. Boy was intensely constructing schemes in his head. If he manages to skip this same physical education class, he may well have time to bring the teacher a notebook before the end of the second shift. It’s a long drive to the tower, of course, but if he gets a bad mark, he’s unlikely to correct it later without any problems. Taking into account the fact that the physicist will definitely not allow him to bring it tomorrow. She is constantly annoyed when someone brings work separately; her favorite phrase about this is: «And you are special, I see. All people are like people, and you.» In general, it’s not very pleasant. Suddenly, something fell outside the window with the roar of breaking corrugated sheets. So much so that Parker jumped in fright. But there was no more time. There were twenty minutes left before the start of the second lesson. And the walk to school is exactly the same. So, taking this as a signal to hurry up, Parker grabbed his backpack. But he decided to ignore the windbreaker, choosing an insulated sweatshirt. Clicking the keys in the keyhole, he quickly flew down the steps and rushed at full speed to the school. Okay, there doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. The plan is well thought out and should work. He just need to speak convincingly enough. So there shouldn’t be any problems with physics, provided that he still manage to persuade her. And what he would do in another case, the guy didn’t want to think about it. Peter ran into the classroom just as the bell rang. Just a second the physics teacher looked at him menacingly, but said nothing. After all, in fact, Peter was not late, but came in exactly when the lesson started. Therefore, except for a disgruntled reminder that he needs to come to class a few minutes in advance to prepare, the teacher could not do anything. Breathing out a sigh of relief, Peter quickly found his friend’s eyes and sat down at his desk. Surprisingly, the teacher was in no hurry to start the lesson; she was sitting at the table and holding a sheet of paper in her hands. Apparently, she was reading something. Peter, trying not to make any noise, laid out his textbook on the table. – Why weren’t you at the first lesson? – Ned whispered, pretending to open the notebook. Unlike Parker, he, of course, have it. – I overslept, – Peter answered briefly and, fastening his backpack, looked up at the teacher. Contrary to expectations, having finished reading, she did not go to write the topic and start another tedious lesson consisting of incomprehensible terms and examples of letters. The woman walked up to the table and, lowering her glasses onto her nose, ran her eyes over the text again, as if making sure that she understood what was written correctly. And only after that she returned back to the center. — Today we will have an unusual lesson. Judging by her extremely dissatisfied face, there was no lesson there, and for some reason she herself would not be there. Which, it’s worth noting, couldn’t help but please Parker, for the most part. – All tenth graders, including you, – the teacher continue, looking menacingly at the class from under her lowered glasses. – Go on an excursion. – There was an immediate cry of delight in the class. Which is not surprising, who doesn’t want to skip physics, and if you’re lucky, then not only physic, even if it’s an excursion to the most boring museum. – Silence, – the woman hit the table with her hand, forcing class to be silent. But there was no complete silence; everyone was whispering among themselves, discussing the great news. And Peter was also sure that it's wonderful, exactly until he found out exactly where. This excursion be damned. – Cool! – Ned muttered, leaning towards his friend. He was definitely more delighted than the others.Peter nodded silently and leaned back in his chair with relief. He can breathe out. Then everything is still better than he expected. Today, after the excursion, he is just going to work, and there he will pick up the notebook. He will be able to bring it tomorrow, but legally, and continue to live with peace of mind. Without worrying that later he will have to run like crazy just to correct this bad mark. Peter threw his hands behind his head, distracted by his own thoughts, and completely stopped listening to what the teacher was saying. And where they would actually go on an excursion, he also didn't listened, and it wasn’t important for him to know. More precisely, until such an incomparable scream arose in the class that Peter, with his heightened hearing, even had to forcefully cover his ears with his palms. That’s when his sense woke up, not the spider sense, but the normal one. Something told him that he should still ask where they going. When the hubbub of voices died down a little, the guy turned to Ned. Having received a ton of joyful set of words, he had difficulty making out the name itself. Parker was so stunned that he couldn’t even say anything, although his friend would hardly have heard him in such a hubbub of voices. So Peter worried in silence, pushing himself more and more with every passing second. No, no, no. Damn, just not there. Why is he so unlucky? In a previous life, he dropped a cat when he was saving it from a tree. Or why does life hate him so much? With such success, he will soon begin to believe in Heaven and Hell, and will also believe that he has been damned. Peter didn’t understand how he ended up in front of a tall tower with the inscription “Stark”. Classmates jostled around him, enthusiastically communicating at the top of their voices and waiting impatiently for them to finally come in. On the way, he heard from some girl that all tenth grades would be taught at different times. More precisely, one by one. Peter, who somehow found himself in the middle of this bustle of jostling guys and girls, tried to push his way back. He even put on a hood, trying to hide in it. Still, the fewer people who recognize him, the better. Although the best option would be to become completely invisible. Or... He didn't think through it. Someone unceremoniously pushed Peter, but now on purpose, and he clumsily tripped over his own foot and flew to the ground. Cheerful laughter was heard from the side. Clearly, Flash is having fun again. Some of his friends even tried to kick Parker, but he got up in time and pushed his way to the end. Okay, now is not the best time to argue. He needs to behave as inconspicuously as possible throughout the excursion. The teenager didn't hear at all what the class teacher was saying. More precisely, he would have heard it if he wanted to. But he didn't care at all. He ignored how a woman talks about rules of behavior and the like. Peter only hoped that the Avengers already knew him too well. They will be frightened by so many teenagers and, in order not to torment themselves, everyone will run away to their rooms. – Everyone! Calm down! – shouted Miss Brown, their teacher. At first she tried unsuccessfully to sort them into pairs, but realizing how useless it was, she simply asked them to move closer together and not block the entire passage. When they finally made their way to the entrance, Peter pulled his jacket tighter around him. And here’s another problem: Ned suddenly became ill. He almost went crazy when he realized that he wouldn’t get on the excursion. Unlike Peter, he extremely regretted that he had missed this opportunity and literally begged his friend to steal something from Stark. Peter took this «stealing» as taking Stark’s autograph and giving it to a friend. But Peter himself was told that everything was fine and, having been kicked out of the medical office, he was sent on an excursion. As soon as they entered the tower, the first problems immediately began. The doors opened, letting the teenagers inside, and enthusiastic sighs were already heard. No one from their class, well, except for Peter, of course, never were in the tower. Even on the first floor. Hurrying the students, Miss Brown looked around and saw their tour guide for the day and headed towards her. The girl, seeing them, rose from the sofa and waved at them with a smile. It was then that Parker realized that he was going to get into trouble. The guide turned out to be Katheryne. The girl worked at the reception, and therefore knew Peter very well. Every time he lost his card, he had to go to Katya, and she either gave him a new one, or, in the end, let him through in her own card. This lasted a long time until the matter reached Tony, apparently the girl already extremely tortured, she told Stark. And he, having listened with laughter to the dissatisfied tirade, nevertheless brought Parker into Friday’s «knowledge». And the girl exhaled. However, they had a good relationship. They occasionally crossed paths and chatted merrily. Peter could not even imagine that his friendliness would one day turn against him. The girl clapped her hands, focusing attention on herself. On the table in front of her were blue cards with first and last names written on them. These passes are apparently one-time passes.– Hello! – the girl began, trying to shout down the restless teenagers. Her voice was ringing and rang through the hall like the ringing of a bell. Due to this, he unwittingly attracted more workers. Although it would probably be difficult not to notice them. The class teacher shushed the children, trying to shut them up. But as soon as Katheryne started talking, everyone immediately shut up, listening to her carefully. The strong desire to quickly explore everything here overpowered the urgent need to chat. – My name is Katheryne. I’m your guide for today, – the girl continued, speaking more quietly. Now everyone sitting on the lower floor was looking at them. Having time to talk too. But if you think about it like that, it wasn't surprising. Tours in Stark Tower were rare, if only because Stark couldn't stand it when thirty teenagers or children chattered incessantly at the same time. The essence is the same. He was quite content with Parker, who seemed not to breathe when he began to enthusiastically tell something. – The entry cards are in front of you, – meanwhile the guide continued to speak. — They all have one-time access, so you can keep it as s souvenir. Katya looked around at the teenagers, counting them just in case, and suddenly came across Peter. The guy didn’t even have time to realize that she saw him, and therefore looked straight at her for another second. The girl’s penetrating gaze seemed to indicate that she knew he was there, and she purposefully looked at Peter. Parker still reacted belatedly, pulled his hood as low as possible and hid back behind backs of classmates. Although it was already late. Praying that she would not recognize him, he nervously wrung his fingers. But, alas, Katya recognized the talkative intern very well. – Come and take the cards. They are named. The girl continued to look for the guy. And Peter hopelessly hoped that she wouldn’t find it. But he was cruelly beaten. Having heard about the «souvenir,» everyone immediately rushed to the table, eager to quickly get into the tower itself, look at it and maybe meet their idols. And thus they broke Peter’s unreliable «shelter» into pieces. The guy met Katya's gaze and immediately bowed his head, also moving towards the table, but he was stopped halfway. – Everyone except Parker, – Katheryne unexpectedly added. A chill ran through his body. Well, of course, when she made a pass for him, she realized who it was. And from the very beginning she knew that he was here. Peter blushed. A dozen surprised and sometimes mocking glances immediately flew at the guy. And Parker himself froze. Damn it, if he couldn’t even trick Katya, then Friday won’t work out even more. Friday, unlike a person, scans, and therefore there is definitely no chance of escaping from it. Unless he hopes that the AI will not want to dialogue with him or report anything. Tony doesn't know he's here. He doesn’t know... Damn it! What an idiot he is! It was necessary to immediately leave, pretending that he had a headache. Footsteps were heard from the side, but Peter reacted too late. Suddenly, someone pushed him painfully in the shoulder, almost knocking him down, for the second time in the last hour. And then laughter. Peter winced. – Penis Parker isn’t even allowed into the tower, – Flash smiled sarcastically, although it was more like an ugly grin. Quiet laughter was heard from the side. Classmates just catch the moment to laugh. Until it affects them themselves, then it will no longer be a laughing matter. Peter was about to turn around and leave the tower to hell. But Katheryne, apparently sensing his mood, cut them off. – Why does Peter need a card if Friday already knows him. There was silence, now everyone was looking at Parker. Which is surprising, considering that they were not alone on the floor. Katheryne cleared her throat and added: – Friday is a local artificial intelligence. – Katya, – Peter grumbled displeasedly. And for the first time he regretted that he couldn’t pull the hood up to his chin. Can sew a curtain to the edge of the hood. Well. He wanted to, he closed himself off from everyone. The girl smiled, making a note to somehow persuade Parker to chat longer, and changed the subject. – Today we will look at several main floors: the laboratory floor, something like a museum, and the Avengers living room. There were sighs of admiration. The teenagers were clearly delighted with the unexpected excursion. The girl named a couple more places, which Parker successfully listened to, and they approached the turnstiles. – And finally, – the girl, turning to the class, standing at the turnstiles themselves, rhythmically tapped her palms on the smooth metal surface, evoking intrigue. Having achieved the desired interest and flashy looks, she threw up her hands and said: – Tony Stark’s workshop.Peter had never paled so rapidly. Well, that's it, it's a lost cause. Even with Tony’s dislike for children and teenagers, of course. He would never let them into the workshop without his control. He spends almost every day there. The chances of not meeting Tony Stark were decreasing every second. Although, if you think so, they will definitely not be taken to Stark’s main workshop, simply because there is clearly a mess there. And the floor below is mostly just repairing costumes and adding new parts. Yes, perhaps this will be interesting to fans of Iron Man, or just fans of superheroes. And the main floor was littered, rather, with unfinished drawings, holograms and broken parts from... basically everything. In general, Stark may well not be there. But everyone else didn't share his horror. Classmates chatted loudly, extremely happy about this news. For many, getting into Tony’s workshop was just a dream. But Peter quickly wants to leave. Katya raised her hand, calling everyone to shut up. The guy, as if in the meantime, noted that the girl was really good in the role of a tour guide, the children listened to her, and, apparently, they really liked her. This was confirmed by the ensuing silence, although not immediately. It took almost two minutes for the teenagers to understand and shut up. And Peter prayed that the time allotted for the excursion would end quickly. Although even if so, they will be led straight to the Avengers. In general, no matter how you look at it, Parker lost in all variations. Then the girl next to Parker suddenly raised her hand, causing the guy to jump. – May I ask a question? – Yes, of course, – Katheryne smiled friendly. – Will we meet the Avengers? The girl thought for a moment, rhythmically tapping her fingers on the turnstile a couple of times, but still answered: – If you’re lucky, – she smiled radiantly. Unable to bear it any longer, Peter groaned, covering his head with his hands. The only thing missing was meeting one of the Avengers. Then he can jump from the tower. Or better yet, hang himself. The guy took a deep breath. Well, maybe it won't be so bad if, for example, he meets Natasha. And then he was horrified: not Natasha. A puzzle quickly formed in my head. He shouldn't come across either Natasha or Tony. Especially if they are in the same room. The girl constantly finds the moment to run her palm into his curls, and sometimes she does it mechanically. Peter even noticed that they sometimes compete with Stark for a place on Peter's couch. And if before this was touching and embarrassing, now he would simply burn with shame. He mentally nicknamed it the «Curly Battle.» No, so what? It's true. If only it didn't happen now. – What, Parker, – Flash started up again, turning to him. — Are you afraid that the deception will be revealed? At times it was difficult to put into words how infuriated Parker was by Thompson. But if he rebuffs him, the guy will start pestering others. For those who can no longer do the same. So Peter endures, better him than someone weaker. – What deception? — Parker said through his teeth. He has enough problems right now; the only thing missing to complete the picture is the pestering Thompson. – That, you bribed our guide. Peter was so taken aback that he even raised his head, looking at his enemy in bewilderment. – What? You could write a bestseller about how quickly the thoughts of the young superhero changed. So now it abruptly jumped from one to another. Is Flash really such an idiot that he thinks that anyone can get into Friday's base, and even if so. Does he seriously think that Peter will have enough money? The guy's face showed such genuine surprise that Flash laughed. – Did you think that I wouldn't understand? The spoiled son misunderstood the reason for the surprise, but Peter did not try to convince him otherwise. More valuable to yourself. Let him continue to think that Peter Parker, being so rich, was able to bribe someone working at Stark Industries. It's better for him. – Come up and apply the issued cards one by one, – the guide turned the teenagers attention to herself. The girl clapped her hands, intending to continue the tour. Classmates passed through the turnstile one by one, and Friday announced, which, by the way, also caused surprise and delight. – Emma Hayes, excursion access, – the classmate in front of him put a map and walked to the others. Peter walked last in this line, still hoping to avoid a «terrible» fate. But everyone passed by and stared at Peter without hesitation, waiting for confirmation of Katheryne’s words. Peter turned his pleading gaze to Katya, but the girl just shrugged her shoulders, saying, «I can’t help you.» Grabbing the backpack comfortably, Parker prayed for the first time that Tony would remove him from the database. He would start taking this pass. If possible, he would have sworn that he would tie this damn pass to his hand, if only Friday would not recognize him. But of course that wasn't the case. As soon as he approached the turnstile, the partitions opened without any manipulation, and Friday, as it seemed to Peter, announced too loudly: – Pleased to welcome you, Peter. I will notify Mister Stark of your arrival. – No, don’t, – Peter immediately exclaimed, freezing in place and instantly numb. But Friday did not answer. The elevator doors opened as soon as Peter took a couple of hesitant steps forward. The eyes of the classmates opposite turned into coins. Everyone stared at Peter like he was a rare exhibit in a museum, and Flash just snorted, still believing in Peter's untold riches. Katheryne grinned and, taking off the badge that was hanging on her shirt, she applied it to the glass surface. Friday reacted just as instantly, but still, Peter was sure that she spoke more quietly. – Catherine Ward, third level of access. The girl, having attached the badge back, went to the teenagers and led everyone to the elevator, while simultaneously telling interesting facts, access levels, the purpose of other floors and something else. Peter already knew all this, heard some, and read some, when he realized that he had seriously landed an internship with Stark. So, thinking about his own things, he ignored all this. The first floor in order was something like a museum. There were old Avengers suits there, and even a Mark 2. To be honest, Parker didn't know it was even there. Making a note to walk here later, Peter pulled his hood up and dejectedly walked behind the class. The guide was telling something, and they listened to her, he must say, listening to every word. Teenagers were definitely much more interested in hearing about superheroes and their past than sitting in a boring physics lesson. To tell the truth, Peter still didn’t understand why this excursion was suddenly given, and why only for the tenth grade. Neither younger nor older. In fact, he never took off his hood. Listening to Katheryne with half an ear,he looked at the «exhibits,» thinking only about how to get out of here quickly and preferably legally. In general, he can say that he felt bad and leave safely, because here they will no longer be able to send him to a doctor, but the class teacher left for a short time, and he can only ask her for time off. So, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible to others, Peter trailed behind. – So we’re done here, – Katya, who seemed to be able to share her enthusiasm with everyone around, waved her hands. The teenager himself was not particularly happy about this; with every second he drove himself more and more. By the time they were returning back to the elevator, Peter suddenly, unexpectedly for himself, thought that perhaps the Avengers were not in the tower at all. Maybe they went to some conference, or event, or even to a base outside the city. So as not to meet with a mad crowd of tenth graders. However, the idea is not so stupid. Peter knows the Avengers well enough to say they could have escaped. This allowed Parker to relax a little, maybe he was pushing himself in vain, and he thought so, but alas, not for long. Katerina called the elevator, continuing to actively talk. Parker still stood behind, trying not to look out. But he heard everything very well, largely thanks to his improved hearing. Even though the sudden guess helped calm him down, Peter did not lose his vigilance, every now and then nervously pulling up his backpack and listening to the sounds around him. Therefore, he heard very well how everyone began to whisper and how Katheryne said hello. – Clint, Steve, Sam, – cheerful notes slipped into the girl’s voice. She smiles. But Peter found it strange that she listed the men by name. Peter shook his head. Okay, this really does look like paranoia. – It's good that I caught you. Peter looked out carefully, trying not to get caught, but also to see what they were wearing. No, he hasn't gone crazy, it's just that he can easily understand where they are going from their clothes. Perhaps they were simply leaving later, the guy continued to convince himself of this, but, alas, all three were in tracksuits, which meant they were heading to the gym, which was located on the minus first floor. All three stood in the elevator and talked with Katya. Peter peered too hard, trying to get a closer look, and suddenly locked eyes with Clint. Already taught by experience with Katheryne, he dived back behind classmates with lightning speed. He saw what he wanted. It's better to keep a low profile. Thank the gods that at least his classmates were crowding around, trying to take a closer look at the superheroes, and the guy was covered like a brick wall. He didn’t see that the archer was about to call out to him, easily recognizing the guy in the crowd, but Katya beat him to it, knocking him out of his thoughts with her question. – Report to your floor. In… – the girl glanced at her wristwatch. – About two hours. – It wasn't a question, but rather a statement. The girl, holding the elevator with her hand, to Sam's silent displeasure, turned to the class. — Do you want autographs? – The answer was a general, yet another, joyful cry. – Well, that’s all, – Katheryne broke into an even more satisfied smile. – We'll be waiting for you. And if you don’t come, I’ll send Tony Stark to get you. This was officially the worst line of the entire day, no, week. Peter will add it to the list of cursed phrases. Tony was in the tower, and, moreover, would appear at the end of the tour in the common room. Damn, damn, damn. Where is Miss Brown? He needs to get out of here as quickly as possible. And if you suddenly wondered why he avoids the Avengers so intensely, then the answer is simple. Peter wants to finish his studies at school in peace, and excessive attention to his modest person will ruin all his plans. Yes, he already screwed up at the turnstiles, but this cannot be compared with one «hello» from the Avengers. But here at least they can believe that he deceived them. But if Stark greets him, it’s a big deal. Even Natasha is enough to prevent him from living normally for the next three years. Taking the men's word, Katya finally sent the elevator, and they waited for a new one. Next they, it seems, will go to the laboratory, there is also a «problem» there. Parker now called any people who might recognize him here as problems, and of course, especially the Avengers. The guy remembered the laboratory floor itself and where, if something happened, he could take refuge. More than half of the laboratory floor was occupied by Doctor Banner. In general, there were, again, two floors, as well as a workshop, but they would most likely be led to Doctor Banner. Since among teenagers he is known precisely as the Hulk and slightly fewer people adore him than Iron Man or the same Thor. This is where serious reasons for strong excitement begin: first, and Parker sincerely hoped that the last, coming face to face with someone from the «serious problems». Although, he can ask Banner, while no one is looking, to warn the others not to greet Parker. But then there is a chance that they will greet him as loudly as possible. Entering the elevator, the guy watched the electronic display, where the floor number was displayed, as if it were the last hope for salvation. Sixty-seven, sixty-eight, sixty-nine. The only hope was that the elevator would stop at sixty-nine. And that he won't face Banner. Alas, the number on the scoreboard was seventy. Friday announced the floor and opened the doors. Peter, taking a deep breath, bowed his head as low as possible and followed his classmates. It would be better if he got sick, honestly. Staff walked past them: guys and girls in lab coats, greeting Katheryne, and some even waved to the teenagers. They were heading to lunch, and so they walked, some with mugs, some with bags. As everyone knows, those who live nearby also manage to escape home. In general, the people here were friendly, which made Peter quite happy. He appeared in Banner's laboratory more than once, so he saw the rest of the people working here quite often. The guy is a hundred percent sure that if he weren’t walking now in a hood with his head bowed, they would willingly greet him, and perhaps even start a conversation. He even managed to visit them for lunch once, which took place in the conversation room. Some scientists decided to get together, but he mixed the doors. Peter drank a mug of coffee, had a great chat, which surprised the adults a lot, and only then remembered that he had actually given something to Bruce, and Tony had probably already lost it. In general, he has already managed to make friends with almost everyone here. With his friendliness and openness to conversation, he attracted even adults and very educated people. And when they found out that he also understood chemistry and physics, they generally seized the opportunity to chat with him. If Peter had said he didn't like it, he'd be lying. But Tony did not react so positively, largely due to the fact that his intern was constantly detained as soon as the guy left the workshop. Peter once started talking so much that he disappeared for almost three hours. Not to say that Tony was angry, no, but he, like a small child, constantly dragged Parker away from scientists and just office workers, who also found «his intern» an interesting interlocutor. However, this only amused Peter, and he still tried not to linger. Suddenly everyone stopped abruptly, and Parker, lost in thoughts, almost fit into the girl in front of him, in the back. The guy cautiously looked out from behind his classmates and realized with horror that they had stopped right at the door to the laboratory of the owner of half of the seventieth floor. However, it would be at least stupid to hope for something else. This is where Peter didn’t dare look out anymore. On the contrary, taught by experience, he even tried to move as little as possible. Although Bruce was not distinguished by the vision of a hawk, like some, he saw Peter no less than the others during the working day. And here comes the attack. Exactly in this sweatshirt. Honestly, the very fact of the sweatshirt he’s wearing now already made him too noticeable. The bright light green sweatshirt was hard not to notice, especially for those who see him in it almost every day... Damn Tony again. But for some reason Peter realized this only now, when he was a couple of meters away from the «serious problem». Then even more so. He needs to hide in the farthest corners of this tower, or at least behind the same backs of his classmates. Or maybe he'll go «look» for the class teacher, and at the same time get lost in the tower himself. Before Parker's plan could come into effect, the glass door leading to the laboratory opened. – Katheryne, – a man in glasses and a lab coat came out and smiled affably at the girl. And only after that he turned to the teenagers. The man pulled his glasses down his nose, somewhat reminiscent of a physics teacher, and looked at everyone. Parker shook his head from the unpleasant associations and moved further away towards the wall. Peter still managed to see the scientist, so he tried to reduce these moments to a minimum, because he could see him too.– Well, if anyone is interested, get in. No one waited long. The man stepped aside, letting the students pass, and Katheryne, of course, first of all. Nobody demanded a second invitation. Blinded by the white walls and lab coats, the teenagers walked inside, sighing in shock. Damn it, Parker thought. Bruce continued to stand at the entrance and catch admiring glances directed at him. Parker tried to keep up and blend in with the others, although he didn’t shake his head, the hood wasn’t attached, unfortunately. Although he seemed to be walking quite calmly, his head was literally screaming that he needed to run as fast as possible and as far as possible. But he walked, forcefully forcing himself to take every step. Katya's muffled voice was heard from inside, handing out identical lab coats to everyone. And Parker, bowing his head as low as possible, followed. The guy could have sworn he felt Bruce's surprised gaze on him. But the man, apparently not sure of his guess, said nothing. And for this Peter was endlessly grateful to him. Let him continue to think it's just someone similar. Parker stepped into the familiar laboratory, followed by Bruce's footsteps. The man closed the doors. Panic was growing every second. Peter felt like he was like a bug in a jar and there was no way out. And when he remember that they actually don’t wish you harm, but on the contrary, they don’t mind saying hello and chatting in a friendly manner. It was getting worse. Parker put on the lab coat Katya handed him, no different from the others, and bowed his head, looking exclusively at the floor. However, the white coats somehow hid his sweatshirt, making the tenth graders at least a little similar to each other. Peter tried to hide his light green hood behind his lab coat and followed. He has already learned the layout of this room like the back of his hand, so it is not possible to hit something or trip, although... he need remembering his clumsiness. Especially in serious situations, he can say with confidence that he will still have time to run into himself. Sighing, Peter nevertheless raised his head. The guy quickly found the largest cluster, which was obviously following Bruce. Katya looked near the entrance, taking in everyone with her gaze at once, apparently insuring. Only a few guys moved away from the group to take a better look at certain objects with incomprehensible contents. Peter briefly noticed that Banner had removed the particularly dangerous items. Of course, the holograms and test tubes remained, and the man looked careful that nobody touch them. Peter looked at the empty space on the table. It was not here earlier, and this, however, is not surprising. Peter, having forgotten everything, continued to look around the laboratory, noticing more and more missing parts and instruments. It was at this moment that he did not notice that he had approached the table by mistake. There, among other things, was a small flask with unknown contents. Peter, accelerating his pace, stepped forward and, not noticing the obstacle in front of him, hit the table. With a choked sigh, he stepped back, the hood flying off his head in the same way as the flask from the table. It toppled over, apparently spilling alcohol and dousing Parker. The guy staggered and almost tripped over his own foot, stepping back. Banner reacted quickly. – Peter. Are you okay? The man quickly walked towards the source of the sound. Already halfway there, he realized what had been said and stopped, covering his eyes with his palm. It's not Peter there. The scientist was about to apologize, but the guy beat him to it. – Sorry, I accidentally, I’ll clean it up, – Parker jabbered in his usual manner and bit his lower lip. Damn it! Something had to be broken! He nervously ran his hand through his curls, pulling them as tight as possible. A sharp pain pierced his head. There was deathly silence in the laboratory. When Peter realized what had happened, his excitement gave way to horror. Damn it! He looked up at Bruce and met the man's surprised gaze. Classmates who looked at the two of them with wide eyes. They looked even more discouraged than at the turnstiles.
