Toxic Closure

Notes:
"Toxic Closure" that became a soundtrack for the book "The Lost And Forgotten Memories" I wrote this song back in the summer last year alongside more tracks that I still want to publish (but I still don't know when the time comes). In "Toxic Closure", I want to broach the topic of happiness of freedom from a toxic relationship, which the hero of the song is madly happy to end. It tells us about how it got him exhausted rapidly and brought him to a certain boiling point. To the moment when he realised that he was done with it! When the hero finally managed to find the strength to break this vicious circle, ignore the one who was sure that she would press on him again and again. He managed to break free before a certain toxic poison destroyed the victim. Though it's sometimes madly hard to do it for one or another reason: love, an addiction, fear, affection, or anxiety. And after this, the hero didn't break down. He didn't withdraw into himself after the pressure he was put under. He became much stronger. He learned to understand people. He broke contact with those who didn't prove their loyalty with no regret. And he started to appreciate freedom much more. So much that it became a problem to some extent. However, next to the right version, even a fear of losing control of your life and ending up at the mercy of someone who loves to assert themselves at the expense of others can go away slowly, so that the person can feel beloved and happy.
[Verse 1]
She always said I wasn't good enough
Jealousy and criticism, no hints of love
She always had a thing for manipulation
Praises and blackmail were her addiction
[Verse 2]
She never said I was the man of her dream
Scandals and hysterics, endless extreme
She never cared she took my energy out
Pressure and violence left me all in doubt
[Pre-Chorus]
Time was wasted, I'm full of regret
But it was so easy to put an end
[Chorus]
Done with pleasing, no more kneeling
I'm sick of worrying, tired of drowning
No, she will no longer change my mind
All she says are just words to the wind
And now I realize it was never true love
Her promises were nothing but a bluff
Poison's coming out, I'm getting sober
I shall survive even if it's a toxic closure
[Post-Chorus]
Toxic closure (toxic closure)
Toxic closure (closure, closure, closure)
[Verse 3]
She never asked if I felt good or bad
Empathy and sympathy were her act
She never listened to what I ever said
Insults and contempt she used instead
[Verse 4]
She always ordered to praise her beauty
Silence and obedience were my only duty
She always had a thing for provocation
Fights and offenses were her obsession
[Pre-Chorus]
Time was wasted, I lost the real me
But it was so good to set me free
[Chorus]
Done with pleasing, no more kneeling
I'm sick of worrying, tired of drowning
No, she will no longer change my mind
All she says are just words to the wind
And now I realize it was never true love
Her promises were nothing but a bluff
Poison's coming out, I'm getting sober
I shall survive even if it's a toxic closure
[Bridge]
We are now over, that's for sure
She was toxic, now I need a cure
I've had enough, I can't take it all
Done with lies, I slammed the door
[Chorus]
Done with pleasing, no more kneeling
I'm sick of worrying, tired of drowning
No, she will no longer change my mind
All she says are just words to the wind
And now I realize it was never true love
Her promises were nothing but a bluff
Poison's coming out, I'm getting sober
I shall survive even if it's a toxic closure
[Post-Chorus]
Toxic closure (toxic closure)
Toxic closure (toxic closure, oh-oh)
Toxic closure (toxic closure)
Toxic closure (toxic closure, oh-oh)
[Outro]
I'll survive after toxic closure
(Freedom never felt so real)
I won't die after toxic closure
(Freedom never felt so good)
Oh-oh, oh-oh, toxic closure...
