Chapter 1

Settings
Notes:
Lip is now seventeen. He's an obedient guy. If we describe him externally, he is light-skinned, red-haired, whose eyes sparkle with black reflections at night. He does not like large crowds, he just prefers silence. Music is what makes him calm. Lip also prefers a normal, simple lifestyle. Just shorts and a T-shirt. Nothing more, nothing less. Two years ago, the guy moved to an apartment in another city from his father, saying that he wanted to study at a good university alone. At first, the teaching went as usual, he had no friends or acquaintances, and a little later a guy joined them. He seemed cold to Lip from the first meeting, however, as he studied him and learned something new about him, his opinion gradually changed to suit him. The guy is a year older than Lip. Danny is his name. He turned out to be an affable and good-natured person who became a loyal friend for Lip. At this age, quite unpleasant situations happen. Boys grow up and want to fight; girls need a partner. There are also troubles in colleges, universities, schools. Moreover, quarrels with parents are possible, The reason can be quite different, from manners to personal life. The last one is just very banal. This principle seems to be widespread.

Fourteenth of April. Lip silently collected his briefcase. He didn't cook breakfast. I don't care about him. Moreover, Lip did not have time to complete his homework, concentrating on the practice exam itself. Despite the fact that Lip transferred to college not long ago, he absorbs topics and draws up plans for reports, projects and other necessary materials. The teachers in this place are too angry and demanding. No one is surprised anymore when a student hits a teacher; this happens more often than ever. Lip reached the stop and sat down on the edge of the bench. There weren’t that many people there anymore, so he managed to sit in silence and not do anything stupid. The bus stopped, opened the doors and patiently waited for passengers to enter the cabin. Lip was almost the last to climb. The trip and arrival at the college went quite normally, Lip immediately remembered the area. And although he knew that he could find a common language with his classmates, his thoughts and heart kept repeating the same thing: “you won’t cope.” This was very alarming for Lin, it did not give him the opportunity to come to a sense of self-care and confidence... Lip was afraid of this day as if they were trying to throw him straight off a cliff. The guy walked down the corridor and found office number twenty-two. He knocked before entering, and later, seeing the smile on the teacher’s face, he stepped forward. There were a lot of guys and girls in the office, twenty, maybe... thirty? The teacher immediately introduced Lip Dorster to the whole group, after which he chose a seat at the end of the room. Disrespectful, because there are almost no empty seats left. "Lippi," Danny said, holding his breath. He stood at the entrance for about twenty minutes, waiting for his friend. Lip, seeing Danny, slowly walked towards him. In just two months, he made many acquaintances and enemies, when Danny - or simply Dan - was the only friend and support for Lip. He never refused anything, gave no reason to be upset or angry, did what he considered every day. He was the only person alive for Lip who penetrated his Heart. "Let's go, bug," Dan said, diving into the arms. “Listen, bitch,” Lip said mockingly. "Asshole. What's our subject now?" "Woah, wow, how rude!" Lip pushed his friend lightly. He smiled, making a sad grimace. He paused and kissed Dan on the temple, writing it off as offensive phrases. They walked to the classroom in silence. Dan crossed the second row and sat down next to Evie, and Lin sat down on hers. From the very beginning of the semester, the teacher assigned everyone to their seats, and if anyone changes seats, there will be a pogrom. Lip, of course, did not know this, because he joined the group halfway through the semester, and still tried to adhere to the rules. He doesn’t know who Ollie Bordor is, he doesn’t know what he’s capable of, what he’s inclined to do.

The first couple has begun. Everyone sat silently and listened to the new topic. They didn’t care about it in any way, but everyone would like to pass the test on it with the highest score. Lip is not like them! He listens attentively, not because he needs a high rating, but because it’s really interesting. Lip is different from them in everything. He lived in poor conditions when they had the time of their lives, walking with their parents in parks and sleeping on luxurious soft beds. They ate expensive food when Lin Dorster looked for leftover food or stole from stores and markets. The second half of the pair was always “repetition”. Each student prepared a piece of paper for himself, and the teacher handed out a printout. In general, the test consisted of ten numbers, and as luck would have it. The students were indignant every time. Of course, it wasn't that bad, but the daily checks were really annoying. Most often, a small part of the group managed to achieve the highest level; for average mark The larger half copes, but the lower half seems to be written differently. “Silently,” the teacher said when a fight broke out in the group. The guy sitting in front of Lin turned around. “Lippic, you’ll let me write it off?” He said. Lip nodded, because he couldn’t refuse. He knew who he was and who his friends were. Lip encountered such people often, so he learned his lesson. It is better not to meddle in their affairs and agree with their preferences and opinions. “Keep it up,” he said again and turned away. A minute later, Lip noticed an inscrutable look on himself Dan, sitting half sideways, looked in his direction. He traced the outlines of his face with his eyes, frowning for some reason. Danny pointed to the phone he kept under his desk. At first Lin had no idea where this was going, and then he heard a vibration. Dan sent a message: "What the hell, Lippy. Knowing that this scum is just taking advantage of you, are you giving answers?" “It would be better if You helped me, not Theon.” Lin looked at Dan sarcastically. He no longer looked at him. Instead, Danny scribbled something in his notebook, running his pencil angrily and mercilessly across the paper. The teacher once again threatened the students, and everyone fell silent. Less than half an hour left before the bell. Dorster glanced over the text and questions, and then began to plan. This time the test consisted of seven numbers, so Lip completed half of it in ten minutes. He didn’t want to hesitate, especially since Theon needed answers. Lip completed all the tasks and began to write down answers for Theon on a separate piece of paper. He wrote down the first option on one side, and the second on the other, so that Theon’s neighbor at his desk could copy it. Lip poked his finger at the back of the person sitting in front. Theon quietly turned around and took the piece of paper, nodding as a sign of gratitude. Then Lip wrote the second version again and got up to hand in the work. Passing by the third row, Lip tossed a piece of paper to Danny so that he could check the correct answers. The bell rang, everyone slowly handed in their work and began to pack their things. Dan waited at Lin's exit, talking to Wal. A little later Lip came out and greeted Wal. "Did you rewrite it?" Lip asked Dan. "Yes, thank you," Dan said. They walked silently to the bus stop, after which Dan continued on his way, and Lip remained waiting for transport.

The night crossed the line and enveloped the entire city. However, this did not last long. It seemed to Lip that he would lie down for two or three minutes. Having collected his briefcase again, Dorster walked around the kitchen, looking for his phone. Thankfully Danny called at that moment. Lip quickly found his phone. He saw that this was not the first time Dan had called, which meant that at the moment he was either standing at the bus stop, waiting for him, or at college. Lip hurriedly got ready and left, taking some money with him. He quickly trudged to the stop, realizing that he was already late. There Dorster was forced to wait about ten minutes for a bus, although he could have gotten there on foot. In general, Lip got there in half an hour and twenty-four minutes. Dan sat on a nearby bench at the entrance, waiting for his friend. He didn't notice Lip at first. Dorster approached Danny with quick and incomprehensible words that sounded like an apology. And only when he heard Lip, Danny stood up from the bench in surprised horror and rolled his eyes. It was quite funny, but Lip seemed to understand that he could not escape now. "We've been walking for a long time, haven't we?" Danny muttered. “I apologized,” Dorster said, stepping back a little. A minute later the first opening bell rang, and Dan gave Lip some more time to explain. “The alarm clock rang... I only heard it the third time.” Dan clapped his hand on Lip's shoulder and headed to the college without expecting him. Lip looked at him full of misunderstanding, and then followed his friend. Lip took his things to the dressing room. Looking down a little, he spotted Dan in the crowd and followed him. Together they reached the desired office and Dan knocked. Having waited for the teacher's permission to enter, they silently walked down the rows, taking their seats. The teacher immediately announced that today would be an easy day for them. Of course, in terms of the fact that the tasks will not be so difficult. In general, this happened rarely, rarely, but everyone knew that these days there is always no other part of the couple. Independent test. The students were jubilant. Such a day occurs extremely rarely, approximately once every six months. The teacher began to explain the recently studied topic so that everyone would remember it by heart. It's not that important, but it seems like it should be useful in the future. — "You still haven't explained yourself." Danny said as he walked out of the office. "I apologized," Lip muttered. The first class ended, and therefore the whole group headed to the second floor - English. Everyone walked extremely quickly in order to have time to walk around the college and go outside. Lip and Dan walked slowly, not because they wanted to, but because Danny was waiting for a clear answer. "Okay, I'm waiting." Dan said, stepping aside. Lip smiled, rolling his eyes. "Will you keep up?" Dorster asked with conviction. "No." "Let's say. In short, I overslept. Alarm clock, remember?" Lin stepped forward, "I didn't hear it, so I woke up twenty minutes later. Then I looked for my phone to tell you about it, but lost it. Thankfully you called. It was lying around in the kitchen." "Did you hear the bell?" “Yes, I didn’t answer only because I was late.” Danny glanced sideways at his friend, turning his head to the side. “I was really in a hurry, sorry,” Lip apologized. “The bell rings, are we going?” Dan nodded. They still slowly stomped to the desired office, discussing evening plans. Actually, tomorrow is Saturday. They study on this day, although it is shortened. Two pairs and voila. Most of the time is wasted. In order not to waste this period, Dan takes Lip out for walks. Their places are very diverse: Their places are very diverse: cafes, restaurants, playgrounds, abandoned places. If you're lucky, they might just be walking on the sidewalk. There was one case when Danny got too talking... They, without noticing it, left their area. It's funny, because after that Lin leads Danny by the hand, carefully watching the road. On the way to class they met a teacher. The three of them silently reached the office and took their seats. The teacher walked through the rows, checking homework. Then he noted those who were absent and only then began the lesson. This is the same teacher whom the whole college loves, and he himself is the leader of the B-2 group. That is, their groups. It seems that Lin was very lucky to transfer to this particular group. Twenty minutes passed, after which there was a knock on the door. It was the director. Say Warr sometimes goes through the offices himself to check if everything is fine. In most cases, he sends assistants: Layla or Tevin. In particular, they come only about those who are absent, In particular, they come only about those who are absent and the state of the office itself. And can simply talk with one teacher or another, discussing other elements. The teacher left the office, closing the door tightly behind him. He knew that during his absence the group would be destroyed. And nothing can resist this. "What's next for us?" Bina asked. “Guess it five times,” said Karl, a friend Theon. The conversation escalated. Someone discussed the weekend, someone asked about something necessary. And then someone in the first row shouted out “test”, which should be next week. Theon turned to Lip and, Theon turned to Lip and, smiling, asked: "You heard?" Lip nodded, then noted: "I'm not sure I can help..." he began, "but I'll try." “Okay,” Theon said and thought a little. “If I write a perfect score, I'll buy you a chocolate bar. Which one would you prefer?” Dorster was a little confused by the proposal. No one had ever been inclined to do this, and Lip could not imagine what it could mean. He shook his head absentmindedly, to which he heard a chuckle. Theon turned away. In general, Lip had a hard time believing that he was capable of such a thing. And so, everyone wants to get a free chocolate bar. Lip glanced around the group, stopping at Danny. Dan glared menacingly at him. Dorster quickly turned his gaze to the window, pretending that he had not noticed him. A minute later the teacher returned, clapping for everyone to be quiet. — "Come on, come on,” Danny said. Lip hurriedly collected his briefcase and left the office in order to catch up with Dan. Danny is also an electric rat. Going into the dressing room, Dan took both his and Lip's things. Dorster had to wait a little longer, because Danny did not change his shoes and put on his cape. They left the college, talking animatedly about something. Danny complained about the constant questions that people asked him. He doesn't like that. Dan talked about the past, going back a little into his childhood. And then bam! Danny stopped abruptly, looking sideways at Lip. He seemed angry. "Theon" He said. And Lip immediately understood what was going on. "Why did he turn around? To him need answers again?" Began to interrogate Danny, “Listen, can you stand up to him for once?” "What's the point?" Lip concluded. "You know, if I refuse, then I'm fucked." Dan smiled. “You are in his treacherous clutches, do you understand? Maybe you'll go to bed with him, hmm?" "Fuck you," Lip said, moving away from the topic. Danny followed. The conversation reached a dead end and never got out of there. They walked silently to the bus stop, after which Danny said goodbye and continued on his way. However, Dorster grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him onto the bus. Danny didn’t dare or resist, but on the bus he gave him a good whack in the back of the head. Lip paid the fare for two. They drove in silence, Dorster was even surprised at such a quiet place. Usually, when he gets on the bus, he feels that “death has come.” No, well, like... The journey took about twenty minutes. Lip came out first, waiting for Danny. He stood almost at the end of the crowd. Most of the bus was occupied by elderly people, and they certainly knew they were in no hurry. Dan, after waiting a little longer, jumped off the last step and ran up to Lip. “I brought some money with me to give you a ride on this piece of shit. But there was a reason for this," Lip said, "How long have you been riding a motorcycle?" Dan's eyes sparkled. He Dan's eyes sparkled. He quickened his pace so as not to waste time talking and walking. Lip smiled and followed his friend. — "Yeees!" Dan shouted joyfully when he saw the motorcycle. He was absolutely delighted, and Lip knew it. Otherwise... Why did he need to drag Dan with him then? Dorster knows that Danny still lives with his parents, and if this is so, then there is no car or motorcycle in sight. Yes, they can afford some kind of transportation. But again, that's not the point. "The helmet is over there," Lip said, pointing to the side. "Put it on and get in. Can you drive?" "Am I crazy or something,” said Danny, grabbing his helmet, “I’ve never seen the steering wheel, what are you talking about?” Lip grinned and sat down on the motorcycle. Danny followed, hanging onto his friend's waist. Dorster started the vehicle and drove onto the public road. There were a lot of cars, but Lip was not the first to ride, so he knew a quiet, free place. It was still too early before sunset, but it was possible to take a look at the area. The road was surrounded on both sides by fields with grain crops. They sang, some areas were mowed or not planted at all. The wind was warm, as was the sun. All Dan heard was the motorcycle itself. He was delighted with this, because he had never ridden it. Perhaps Dan, after graduating from college, will promise himself that he will buy a motorcycle.
