A decisive day

And there he was. Standing in front of the impressive, beautiful temple in the kidneys, about to enter and get himself cleaned up like every day after a tiring work shift. He had never felt like this before in his entire life, but was sure that this had to be love. Yes, he loved her, loved her dearly, wanted to be with her, to spend time with her, to care for her, to hold her, to protect her… to live his life with her! But… was she feeling the same way about him? Did she love him too, or just see him as a friend? QJ didn't know. He could clearly see affection in her eyes every time she looked at him, but what kind of affection it was… no clue… There was only one way to find out… exactly: by telling her about his feelings. But now he started to hesitate. Would he maybe come to regret it? What if she didn't feel love for him, after all, and wouldn't want to see him ever again after his confession? That thought was unbearable for QJ0076. So was he really willing to take such a risk? The risk to sever their bond forever? So should he just keep quiet instead and continue being friends with her, as this was better than nothing at all? Would he even be able to live with these unrequited feelings for the rest of his life? Or could it even be that she did love him too, and would get frustrated and eventually leave him, tired of waiting for his confession? QJ’s head was a mess. He had really wanted to speak with someone about his feelings, before taking any actions. But his childhood friend SS1104 would obviously be the wrong choice for that. So his other childhood friend DA4901 maybe? But the problem was that they had very different work shifts right now and would continue to for a while, so he wouldn't have the chance to talk to him in private. After struggling for a while with himself, QJ decided to do the confession after all. He just couldn't live with that doubt anymore. In an attempt to set his horrible worries aside, he entered the temple, trying to think of the exact words he would say to her. Luckily, it wasn't that busy right now in the kidneys, so he was pretty sure to be able to talk to her after having been cleaned up. The opportunity couldn’t be any better! There! There she was! He gave his hands a light slap in order to try to get them to stop shaking and continued his way towards her. As soon as she saw him, a beaming smile appeared on her face. “There you are, 76-kun. I’m so glad to see you!” He gulped, blushing violently. Holy capillaries, she was an angel! “Y-Yes, m-me too…” Damn, now his knees were shaking as well! She noticed his odd behavior and got worried. “Are you alright? You aren’t hurt, are you?” “N-No, I’m fine. Just tired after work.” She smiled at him again, accepting his excuse. “I see how filthy you are. Come, let me clean you up.” She started walking towards her washing station, and he followed her, trying to control his trembling. The cleaning passed without any incidents, and as soon as they were done, he dried and dressed himself and then gulped again and looked into her eyes. This was the moment! Now! “Say, Glomerulus-chan, do you have some free time right now? I have to tell you something very important.” The young woman was surprised for a moment, as she had very rarely seen him being so serious before. But then she smiled once more at him and nodded. “Sure, let’s go somewhere no one will disturb us.” She led him into an empty room in the temple, and once they were alone, stood in front of him, looking at him expectantly. He hid his now once again trembling hands behind his back and forced himself to look at her. Speak! He had to speak! QJ nervously cleared his throat and began: “So… you know, there is something I’ve meant to tell you for some time… S-Something v-very important… I… I…” And that was it. He couldn't produce another sound. No matter how much he tried, the fear was just too big and too overwhelming. QJ was almost about to cry. He was really a huge, enormous coward! “76-kun?” She started to approach him, again with worry in her eyes. “N-No, forget it!” he managed to exclaim, turned around and already wanted to leave, to run away. But before he could reach the room’s door, he suddenly heard quick steps and felt something warm and soft on his back. She was hugging him from behind, wrapping her arms around his waist. “76-kun… I love you too…” He was baffled. So baffled, he thought his ears were deceiving him. Had she just really… “W-What?... B-But how?” He turned his head to her and saw her gentle smile. She blushed and hugged him tighter. “W-Well… I have never experienced anything like this before, but I do have feelings for you, and am sure that you must feel something for me as well. I wasn't sure whether these are the same as mine, but after you said that you had something very important to tell me and seeing how nervous you were, I… just knew… So please don’t run away…” QJ0076 was overwhelmed.
