Protection.

Settings
A gray wall of high clouds covered the sky, casting its sad shadow on the lifeless streets with tightly curtained windows. In this urban anxiety, where life was losing its meaning, every day put residents in danger. More and more people filled the streets in search of safety, and bulletproof vests became their last hope. Protection is his promise. It seemed that there was a hidden potential in these shiny shells that could grant safety and protection to every unfortunate soul. They proudly wore them, feeling confident and at peace inside themselves. However, it was at such moments, when the sun's rays penetrated through the grid of street lighting, body armor suddenly became a clumsy shadow of illusions. Malik was a quiet man, yearning for better times. He knew well that they were already far behind. There was always something sad in his dark eyes, like a reflection of a forgotten part of his soul. He walked through the streets among the crowds of people, wary of every movement. The world around him was steadily losing its clarity, like an imaginary landscape, and he felt that everything could disappear in a matter of seconds. The bulletproof vest weighed heavily on his shoulders, reminding him that physical protection could not save him from the longing and loneliness that were melting somewhere deep inside him. Different faces inhabited the crowd, each with its own story and its own wound. He saw their eyes-the eyes of hopelessness, loss and longing expectation. Some still dreamed that the bulletproof vest would turn out to be their saving angel, a reliable refuge from acute trials. But for Malik, the bulletproof vest was just one of these illusory brethren in this dreary game of life. One day, when the city fell into the darkness of the soul and hopelessness, Malik and his mother were caught in a merciless war. The sounds of explosions overwhelmed them, turning the gray houses into rubble of destruction. And then, like a quiet whisper, it came to an understanding - a bulletproof vest cannot protect the most important thing. The humanity of people distraught with grief. The hearts of people broken by the loss of loved ones. And the meaning of life that people have lost in the devastation and madness surrounding them, which they could not preserve, hoping for imaginary protection.
