Imagine that you were Dmitry's childhood friend from the palace.
***
"She's a knyazhna," Dmitry whispered to you, watching the dancing girl and the dog together with you and Vladimir.
You narrowed your eyes and looked at her appraisingly.
"I don't think it's her. Do you think the Empress won't understand that it's not her granddaughter? She has already seen so many of them that now she may not want to accept you," you clarified with Dmitry.
He silently pointed you to the mural behind Anya, you thought only for a couple of moments, mentally comparing the two girls and nodded.
"Maybe everything will work out," you shrugged and called out to the girl, "Anya! So how old do you say you are?"
"Eighteen," she smiled, and you mentally noted that she was also ideally suited for age, "at the age of eight I was found at the train station and I grew up in an orphanage.
You and Dmitry exchanged glances. This was consistent with the words of Maria Feodorovna herself.
"And even if it's not the real Anastasia, the Empress will immediately understand it and won't even talk to us," Vladimir said quietly.
"What's his name?" you turned to the girl, pointing to the dog that was spinning under your feet.
"It's Pooka," she smiled, stroking his head.
You all went to the train station to buy train tickets and go to Paris to the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna, the grandmother of Princess Anastasia, who was looking for her, being sure that her granddaughter was alive.
***
During the trip, Dmitry and Anya had a big fight, and then you had to move from the compartment to the luggage compartment because your documents did not meet the new requirements. And then for some reason your car detached itself from the restaurant car and the locomotive was disabled. The brake jammed and Vladimir, trying to turn it, accidentally tore it off. The rails in front of your car just exploded and you tried your best to slow down.
"Remind me to say "thank you" to her after," Dmitry muttered with displeasure when Anya helped him with the chain.
You jumped out of the train and went by ship to Paris to Vladimir's friend, Sophie, who was the second cousin of the Empress.
That night, Anya fell fast asleep and almost jumped overboard. She was having a nightmare. Fortunately, Pooka managed to wake Dmitry up with his barking and he managed to stop Anya from taking a mad step into the raging sea.
You arrived in Paris and went straight to Sophie. She also warned you that the Empress does not want to see anyone else, because her heart will not stand another "granddaughter" anymore.
***
"You must have gone completely crazy," you shook your head after listening to Dmitry's plan to meet the Empress and Anya.
"Impudence is the second happiness," he smiled completely like a cat, taking the music box from Anya's things.
In the end, Dmitry nevertheless put his crazy plan into action and the empress found herself near the house where Anya was staying. Maria Fyodorovna agreed to meet with Anya only because she saw a box that she had given to her real granddaughter a long time ago. But she was lost during the escape from the palace and could not have been with him in any way…
You were in the room with Anya and helped her pack her things, simultaneously trying to persuade her to stay. As soon as there was a knock on the door, Anya shouted without turning around:
"Go away, Dmitry!"
The door opened and you heard the sound of heels.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Anya turned around and saw the Empress. You immediately curtsied and quickly left the door so as not to disturb them.
"Dmitry?" you called out to the man, running out into the street.
"Hi, Y/N," he stopped and turned around. When you caught up with him, he smiled, but the smile came out somehow painful.
"Why aren't you there?" you pointed to the house.
"And you?"
"Don't answer the question with a question, please," you frowned.
"I don't think I can help them with anything else. I have already done everything that depended on me," he smiled again.
"And where are you going now?" you asked warily.
"I don't know yet," he shrugged and turned to leave.
"Can I come with you?" suddenly you blurted out against your will.
Dmitry's heavy sigh served as an answer for you and you went after him.
***
A few days later, the Empress herself wanted to see both of you. You arrived at the palace and were shown into a study.
When you saw the Empress, you immediately bowed.
"You sent for us," Dmitry said.
"Here is your money and my gratitude," Maria Fyodorovna said softly.
"I accept gratitude, but I don't need money," Dmitry said firmly.
You rolled your eyes and looked at him. What's the matter with him? Wasn't he the one who wanted to get paid for finding the real Princess Anastasia Romanova?
"What do you need?" The Empress asked.
"What you can't give me," he bowed again and turned to leave.
"Wait a minute." Maria Fyodorovna's voice made you freeze in place and turn around. "Where did you get the music box? So you're the boy who helped us escape! It was you who saved Anastasia and me, delivered my granddaughter to me, but you won't take the reward?"
"Not anymore," Dmitry just as firmly refused.
"Has something changed?" The Empress asked ingratiatingly.
"Most likely, I myself. I'll go," he bowed one last time and left the office.
You stayed a little bit at the very top of the stairs and witnessed the collision of Anastasia and Dmitry. You remembered the address "Your Grace" and applied it almost immediately while going down the stairs. You were happy to see Anastasia alive and well, but you couldn't tell if she was completely happy at the moment.
"What's wrong with him?" "Anya" asked, looking at you seriously.
"He... he fell in love, Your Grace," you replied softly, revealing his secret, "with you."
You noticed it yourself and you didn't need confirmation to know for sure.
Anastasia froze in amazement, too stunned by this news, and you took advantage of this to escape.
***
You followed Dmitry to the train station, and when he returned to the palace, you also went with him.
"Do you think I'm going to leave you now? No, I'm just wondering what you're going to do next, because you promised Vladimir that you'd stop with crimes."
"Calm down, Y/N, please," he twisted his head, trying to find Anastasia.
"Say goodbye to life, Anastasia!" you heard a loud statement. "No one will save you!"
"You're wrong!" Dmitry hit Rasputin in the face with his fist on the run. And you knew exactly what Rasputin looked like, because you remembered that you saw him when he served in the palace.
But you were struck by something else. How could Rasputin have come here if he had been dead for more than ten years? And in general, his whole appearance reminded you of an animated corpse, no less.
Rasputin enchanted the statue of the Black Pegasus standing on the bridge, reviving it to distract Dmitry and deal with Anastasia. But while Dmitry was trying to fight the stone horse, he was hit on the head by a stone from the fact that the horse reared up and lost consciousness.
"Long live the Romanovs!" Rasputin laughed. Anastasia rushed at him, trying to get to some suspicious green flask that he was holding in his hands, but Rasputin pushed her away.
Pooka ran barking to Rasputin, grabbed the flask with his teeth, tore it out of his hands and threw it to Anastasia. The flask turned out to be right under the feet of the princess and she stepped on it so that she would definitely not roll away. When she saw Dmitry, who had fallen unconscious, she was very angry.
"This is for you for Dmitry," the girl stepped on the flask, it began to crack and red rays poured out of it, "this is for my family," she stepped harder, "and this is for me," she looked Rasputin straight in the eyes, "goodbye!" she stepped on the flask with all her might and it immediately exploded with a bright light, then you heard Rasputin's furious cry.
Suddenly, the demons, who apparently obeyed Rasputin only because he sold his soul to the devil to take revenge on the Romanov family, rebelled against Rasputin and killed him, and his body turned into a pile of ashes, which was scattered by the wind. With the death of Rasputin, the curse of the Romanov family ceased forever.
"Anastasia," you called, heading towards her, "How are you?" Are you okay?" you gently touched her face.
"Yes, thank you, Y/N," she smiled gratefully at you and turned to Dmitry, who had come to his senses by that moment. She threw herself at him with hugs, but first accidentally hit him in the face, and then miscalculated the force and almost strangled him by hugging him too much.
"I thought you were going to Petersburg," Anastasia said.
"I didn't take the tickets," Dmitry said as if reluctantly.
"Why?" The knyazhna asked in surprise.
"It's just... I..." he couldn't finish, as Anastasia kissed him, but they were distracted by Pooka, who brought the princess's tiara.
"I know what to do," the girl smiled, picking up the tiara. "Y/N, do you have a pen and a piece of paper?" she looked at you.
"If you search, I'll find it," you nodded, after a minute handing her everything she needed.
"Thank you," the princess thanked after a few minutes, having finished writing something, "please give this to my grandmother," she asked, handing you a folded sheet and her tiara.
"Are you sure?" that's all you asked, looking into her eyes.
"I've never been so sure," she smiled, turning to Dmitry.
"Then see you later, Your Grace," you made a playful curtsy, hugged Anastasia and Dmitry tightly and headed to the palace to deliver a message to the Empress.
"See you later ..." quietly rushed after you.
