Chapter 1

- Stay where you are, bastard! - Gilgamesh shouted in rage, holding on to the golden chain that entwined Shiro, while the latter tried to press himself harder into the ground so as not to be swallowed up by the Grail, - Stop until I get out of here! - Crap! - Emiya hissed, trying not to show all the pain that was inside him and trying to press himself harder into the ground. Now the “King of Heroes” was holding on to it, not wanting to be processed into mana, fueling the Grail
Emiya was ready to cut off his own hand, but immediately pulled himself away from this thought. Gilgamesh can use the chains again to grab onto something else. Shiro clenched his teeth. He didn't want to die. He still has a lot to do. He still has a lot of people to help! But it is not necessary for Gilgamesh to survive. There must be a way to survive on your own and let the Grail swallow the blond! Must! But nothing came to mind. There wasn't even one idea! “This is... the only way out,” Shiro sighed, looking at the Grail funnel and taking his consideration into account. Looking at the “King of Heroes” with all his fury, he clenched his fists. The same, seeing Emiya's gaze, unconsciously shuddered, which surprised himself. “Wha... What do you want to do, bastard?!” - Gilgamesh shouted in rage, directing his gaze to Shiro's face, which was filled with determination. - Finish all this! - The red-haired one shouted back and ran towards the blond, which was easy because of the Grail that was pulling him in. He was scared. No matter how he makes excuses to himself, the fact remains: “I’d rather die than anyone else!” - Bastard! - Gilgamesh shouted when he realized what Shiro wanted to do, - You and I will die! But it was too late to reason with Emiya; he had decided everything. Finding himself directly in front of Gilgamesh, Shirou hit the blond in the face with all his might, sending him into the Grail vortex. He did not hear the last words of the “King”. He didn't hear anything anymore. “Forgive me, Sakura, Rin, Saber,” Shirou smiled sadly, looking at the crater. This is his end. He accepted it and was ready to go into the arms of death.

Shiro didn't know where he was now. His eyes were closed, and trying to move even his fingers was an incredible pain. He could not feel anything, even with a great desire, except for the cold that penetrated him to the bones. It was impossible to breathe. It was as if he had been plunged into ice water. It was difficult to even think. He didn't know how much time had passed. Day? Month? Or a millennium? As soon as he was consumed by the Grail, he lost his perception of time. Now Emiya didn't care about anything anymore. He is now dead. Then the logical question arises - why worry if you are already dead? He will no longer be able to harm or help anyone. “Young man...” a muffled male voice was heard somewhere above. Shiro was surprised by this. For the first time in some time in this darkness, he heard at least some sound. Emiya tried to answer the voice, but only a faint groan came out of his chest. - Young man, wake up! - The man’s voice was heard again. This time, Shiro's eyebrows began to tremble and his fingers began to move slightly. A minute later, his eyes opened. At first Emiya couldn't make out anything. My head was furiously dizzy and aching, and there was some kind of haze before my eyes, which receded after a minute. And the first thing Shiro saw was the man's face. It was a man, about forty-five years old. His face was covered with many scars. His mustache twitched slightly, and his eyes looked at Shiro with excitement, which disappeared when he saw that Shiro had woken up. On his head was a burgundy cap with a pinwheel attached. He was wearing the same red uniform, with short sleeves, revealing the man's new scars. His legs were wearing short burgundy trousers. - Are you awake! — There was incredible relief in the man’s voice. Shiro rose slightly on his elbows, leaning against the wall so as not to fall. The next thing Emiya tried to do was get up. Grunting and groaning, the magician tried to get out of bed, trying not to fall over, but he was stopped by the man, who put the guy back down. “For now, exertion is contraindicated for you, it’s better to rest,” the man said, slightly straightening his cap that was rolling down, and looking reproachfully at Emiya. - Well, young man, when you finally woke up, may I ask your name? “Shi... Shiro...” Emiya said brokenly, breathing more air into his lungs. Even something as simple as talking took a lot of energy. - A strange name. Anyway. My name is Genzo, sheriff and mayor of the village of Cocoyashi,” the man introduced himself, lifting his cap, showing his black hair with several gray strands, “Where are you from, Shiro?” “Cocoyashi Village? I’ve never heard of anything like this in my life, or even the man’s title. The title of Sheriff is given only in English-speaking countries, and the name of the village is definitely Japanese,” Shiro thought, wincing slightly from the pain in his head. Wait... Maybe the Grail just teleported him somewhere far away? Although it sounds like nonsense, knowing that he was supposed to die, this is the only answer at the moment. Still, he answered Genzo: “I’m from the city of Fuyuki.” - Fu... yuki? - Genzo repeated, as if trying the name, rubbing his chin, - I have never heard of such a town in the East Blue, although our sea is large and calm. Many of our villages and towns are not known, because basically everyone in the East Blue starts talking about places where something like this happened. - East Blue? - Shiro repeated. This was even stranger. If with Cocoyashi he simply could not have known about her, then... East Blue? Emiya could not call himself an ideal student, some knowledge lagged behind each other, but he knew geography, especially the seas and oceans. - A? Oh, forgive the old man, I forgot that you only regained consciousness a couple of minutes ago, and I’m already loading you,” the man laughed a little at his mistake, scratching the back of his head, “Ahem!” Just rest for now, Shiro, we'll talk tomorrow, good night. These were the last words spoken by Genzo, and he, muttering something about the pain in his back, left the room. Shiro looked at the door through which Genzo had come out for another minute and turned his gaze to the window. “Indeed, the sea,” Emiya flashed through his head when he saw the endless blue of the sea, which was drawing his gaze towards itself. And the dark sky towering above this sea only intensified the enjoyment of this view. Shiro didn’t even notice how a slightly sad smile bloomed on his face. It seemed to him that Saber, in her blue dress, would look good against the backdrop of the sea, “Okay, stop beating yourself up. They wouldn't approve." Still, gathering all his strength, he got out of bed and went to the table that stood near the window. Sitting down on a chair, he looked around the table. Some books were laid out in a stack. Shiro couldn't make out their text due to the lack of light. He strained his vision, trying to find something. which kept drawing his attention to herself. - Candle? - Emiya whispered weakly, looking at an ordinary candle on a metal stand. After searching a little more, he found matches. After suffering a little, he was finally able to light the candle and look around the room normally, “Hmm.” There are no lamps, no sockets, no electrical appliances... Frowning, Shiro turned his gaze to the books. Taking one, he read the title: “The beginning of the Pirate Era?” Gol D. Roger: The History and Crew of the Legendary Pirate King? — Sweat began to drip from Shiro’s forehead and he swallowed the lump in his throat. Taking the next book, he read: - Loguetown: City of the Beginning and the End. Place of execution of Gol D. Roger. Quickly opening the book, he leafed through it and ran his eyes over its pages. - 1500. Execution of Gol D. Roger,” Shiro read the title of the chapter, “My Treasures? So take them if you can! I left them all there!” — read the last words of Gol D. Roger Shiro. “The Grail didn’t consume me or send me somewhere, but moved me to another world,” Shiro swallowed. While Sakura and Rin mourn him, thinking he is dead, he is actually alive. It was a nasty feeling, like he was deceiving them. Afterwards, Shiro took the next king, entitled: "Known Waters: North Blue, South Blue, East Blue, West Blue, Grand Line and Calm Belt." “Four seas, and the names of all cardinal directions,” a thought ran through Shiro’s head, seeing the names of three more seas. Throwing away unnecessary thoughts, he began to read a book. As he read, a picture began to emerge. With the four seas everything was very clear, only the pirates, as it was written, were stronger than in the East Blue. However, he was surprised by the Grand Line and Kalm Belt. The Grand Line is an ocean current that runs from northwest to southeast. As people who have returned from the Grand Line say, it is incredibly dangerous and the weather is unpredictable. It may snow suddenly or a strong storm may suddenly begin. It is to this place that everyone is eager to get the legendary treasure One Piece. At the same time, Kalm Belt is much calmer, but this calm is deceptive. There are no currents, no winds, and there are almost no storms, however, certain Sea Kings live there. As Shirou learned from other books, Sea Kings are carnivorous, huge fish that are almost always different from each other. The book contained drawings of these sea monsters: one looked like a dark green eel, with giant fangs and brutal red eyes, and the other looked like a pink snake, with fur and a bird's beak. There is also a military organization called the Marines, which maintains law and order in all seas. Many of their bases are located in all the waters of this world, except for Kalm Belt, to keep order. It was known that there were two bases in the East Blue - the Seventy-seventh Branch and the Sixteenth Branch. In the books, everything was described in general terms, which made it a little difficult to understand what kind of individuals were in the Watch. For Shiro, the main thing was that they maintain order and law. These were the people he respected the most. “Pha...” Emiya let out a quiet sigh. putting the book aside and extinguishing the candle, “It’s still better to get some sleep,” Shiro smiled, looking at the pale moon that illuminated the sea, “Heh.” I never thought that I would find myself in the world of pirates, where everyone is eager to find the legendary treasure. Without thinking for a long time, he lay back on the bed, closing his eyes. That night he dreamed nothing.
