Chapter 12. In the Room of Requirement
December 10, 2023 at 10:38 AM
Obito sat on pins and needles all day. He was tormented by the fact that Kakashi could see Thestrals. When did he get there? And whose death could Kakashi have seen? Uchiha knew that Hatake's father had died, but he didn't know when. Ask directly?.. The idea is so-so. He didn't want to offend Kakashi by starting this topic. Therefore, throughout all the classes, he kept returning to the dialogue that could happen today in the Room of Requirement.
Kakashi was as calm as a boa constrictor. At least outwardly, he did not betray the anxiety that had arisen in his soul. Hatake kept telling himself, "What interesting lessons." And so his day passed.
After classes, in the late afternoon, having finished with their homework, which was not so much yet, the guys went to an earlier appointment. When Hatake approached, the brunette was already hovering at the entrance to the room.
When he heard footsteps, he still dared to look up.
- Oh, Kakashi? Hi...
- Hello. Shall we go? Hatake nodded in the direction of the Rescue Room. - A library or a cozy fireplace?
- As your heart desires,- Obito smiled, trying to give his voice more confidence.
- A library with a cozy fireplace. It's decided,- Kakashi followed the instructions given earlier, and a door appeared in front of them.
The guys went inside and settled on a luxurious sofa.
- That's it... What did you want? The ash-haired man asked.
Uchiha involuntarily swallowed.
- Well, this... We're kind of... Did you want to train? Let's find a book about Patronuses.
The brunette jumped up from the sofa and went to the nearest shelf.
- What kind of Patronus do you think you'll have? - he asked from behind the shelves.
— I don't know. Maybe... - Kakashi closed his eyes, concentrating, after which, a little surprised, he asks. - A wolf?
- A wolf?..
- The patronus is a wolf.
- I get it, it's simple.. a little unexpected. I don't know what kind of Patronus I can have. Maybe you can guess?
- Mmm... A red deer?
- Maybe, - Uchiha grinned.
- Okay, let's teach.
- To create a Patronus, you need to recall the happiest memories and cast a spell: "Expecto patronum,"- the brunette read an excerpt from the book.
- Happy ones... Memories?.. Kakashi frowned and thought, then whispered softly. - Memories... Good.
Hatake stood up and waved his wand.
- Expecto patronum, - the ash-haired man failed for the first time the first time, which angered Kakashi a little. He repeated it. - Expecto patronum!
And nothing.
Hatake swore softly.
- Try something else. There are a lot of memories, but it should work out with some. Expecto Patronum!
And Uchiha did not succeed, to which he only laughed. The ash-haired man was a little annoyed by this. He snorted and sat back down, folding his arms over his chest.
- That's it. I don't want to! I will not.
- Well, don't sulk, - Obito walked around him from behind and somehow managed to roll over to dangle in front of his face. - Maybe you should create them yourself?
Kakashi already opened his eyes when he saw Uchiha's face hanging close to his own.
- What?
- I say: create memories yourself. What do you think?
- How?
Uchiha was silent for a few seconds, after which he quietly said something.
- They either thank you or hate you for it... I hope it will work out for me...
Hatake arched an eyebrow.
- Well, for the idea, I mean ... - he got nervous again. - How to create it? Well... do what you want, have fun... Although, a pleasant surprise will be more effective... Maybe... What do you think?..
- Maybe.
- There is... Ideas? What could possibly happen that could make this the happiest memory? For example, for you.
- No. Those times can't be brought back.
Obito remained silent, averting his gaze.
- Then, - the ash-haired man began, - everything was fine...
- When...
- Your father was alive, and no one was following you...
- And then... Were you happy?..
- I couldn't understand it then. What we have, we do not keep, having lost, we cry...
Obito laughed.
- I'm sorry. I know it's not funny. But... We're here to create new, good ones, right?
- We're here to learn new spells.
- And for this you need to remember something good, - the brunette lightly flicked his nose.
Kakashi frowned and looked at him. Obito was smiling. Hatake sighed.
- I've already tried it - nothing worked.
- Surely these are not all good memories. Suddenly it's so good, but it's lying around somewhere in your memory. Maybe you don't realize it yourself, but it is the best thing. Which one is closest to you?
- You, - Kakashi decided to joke.
- Well, then... Think about me?
- All right, - Hatake chuckled. - Expecto Patronum!
And he did it. Kakashi's patronus was indeed a wolf. There was surprise on the ash-haired man's face, and a slight blush appeared on his cheeks.
- It turned out ... - he whispered softly.
Obito stood with his jaw hanging open. Closing his mouth, he turned his gaze to Kakashi, smiling.
- Well done, - he praised just as quietly. - Maybe I can do it too? Expecto Patronum!
But Uchiha has failed so far.
- We need another memory... But which one to choose?...
- The best.
- And you can't argue, - smiled the brunette. - And if... This one? Expecto Patronum!
And again, nothing.
- Well, what is it... Expecto Patronum!!!
Another attempt was unsuccessful. Obito sighed softly.
- I have so many of them that by the time I try, morning will come, - smiling, he shook his head.
- It's strange, but... - Kakashi cautiously approached him and kissed him on the cheek, after which he walked away, slightly turning away.
The brunette was left slightly confused.
- Expecto... patronum?...
A light burst out from the end of the wand, and a silver deer ran across the room. Obito followed Kakashi's example and also turned away a little, blushing.
The ash-haired man laughed loudly.
- Well, wow, it worked too...
- Yeah...
- Now we know one more spell.
- Yes, that's right. You're right... One more spell... And for one wish too,- he added quietly.
- Desire?
- Did I say that out loud?..
- Ahem... no... I didn't hear anything...
Uchiha quietly said something to himself, after which he turned around already smiling.
- Okay. I think that's enough studying for today. It's only the second day, and we've already learned what they don't teach at school.
Obito walked over to the shelf and returned the book to its place.
- Great. Shall we go to the living room then? It's already night.
- Yeah... - Uchiha stretched and turned towards the exit. - Shall we go?
Kakashi got up and, after waiting for Obito, went to the door.
In the hallway, Uchiha threw an invisibility cloak over them and led the ash-haired man to his living room.
- Thank you, - Hatake said - and good night.
- See you tomorrow.
Obito let him out of the shelter and, after making sure that Kakashi was safely hidden behind the door, went to the Gryffindor living room.
After saying the necessary password, he quietly crept into the room and lay down on the bed, putting his hand on his face. Replaying in his head what had happened today, he was embarrassed and happy at the same time again.
And when did they get this far?..
