My heart can't stand it

It’s so weird to watch.
I mean, no, not weird, just unusual. Jared knew from Dannyl that Jensen was a caring guy, and he’d felt it firsthand when he’d been struggling with depression. It was scary to think back to that time in his life, when he’d gotten up in the morning to go to work just because he had to, gone to conventions and smiled just because he had to. When you come from your favourite job, to your favourite family, to your favourite house, and something inside you is tormenting you, driving your thoughts to something unthinkable. But Jensen always made it easier by supporting him, by constantly checking on his well-being and mood, by always joking, and just by his presence.
So okay, Jared just wasn’t used to Jensen taking care of someone who wasn’t him or his family. Partly not his family, because-…Hell, who was he kidding, it was to be expected, Misha, though not from the first day, had fit right in, had become part of their little family and almost a brother. At least to Jared.
For Jensen, it must have been more than that. Because now he was walking around Mischa like a hen.
“Have you eaten enough? Sure you’re not hungry?”
And there is so much tenderness and concern in his voice. And Misha just shakes his head with a soft smile, as if to say, “No, I’m not hungry, thank you.”
“If you get hungry, let me know.”
Ackles, after the confrontation between Misha and some mugging assholes, began to treat him with more reverence. He started to appreciate him a lot.
Their friend is still under pressure from some fans, ignoring his participation in the series, thus devaluing his work, sometimes openly hating him. And at such moments, Misha does not show how it hurts him, he just becomes quieter, more silent, trying to joke away from any questions.
“I’ll get you some warm socks, it’s cold. You’ll get sick,” — Jensen interrupted Jared’s train of thought with a serious and gentle remark, and Misha agreed with a quiet laugh.
Watching his best friend try in every way possible to make his other best friend uncomfortable is awkward. But it’s what they deserve. It’s what Misha deserves. Love, hugs, care, tenderness, attention — in general, everything he so mercilessly lacks sometimes.
Jensen returns a few minutes later with warm socks with cute monkeys drawn on them and Jared snorts into his fist, trying to make it more discreet. But Ackles catches on and only throws him a slightly stern look.
“Rapunzel, lose your hair. Ah! How could I forget, you cut it off,” — Jensen laughed wickedly and went to pour hot green tea with lemon for Misha and two black ones for himself and Jared.
“But you have rightfully taken the title of Rapunzel,” — Padalecki nods at his friend’s silky and grown out hair and smirks.
He hears Misha’s laughter from the side and sees Jensen’s full attention instantly shift to the man on the couch. No matter what anyone says, these two are so in love, so serious. And those pinched, soft glances at each other are proof of that.
Jensen sets the steaming mugs on the table around which they’re gathered and before he sits down on the couch next to Misha, he takes the light blanket-the only one they have right now-and throws it over his lover’s shoulders, hugging him gently, almost cocooning him. Jared tries not to notice the kiss on the top of his head.
“Thank you very much”
It was unusual to see such tender care, because Jensen gave the impression of a stern and a little rough man. But when his gaze fell on Mischa, he smiled softly, his features softening as his gaze softened, and under Mischa’s hands he was like warmed plasticine-just as malleable.
“Doves, I should probably go” — Jared hid his smile when Jensen didn’t even turn to him, just nodded and waved, continuing to tell Misha silly jokes and the sweetest words of encouragement. He didn’t want to keep barging in on such an intimate and cozy moment, so he walks out with a quiet creak of the door and a burgeoning happiness in his chest for his friends.
