she didn’t expect anything from a regular day, apart from drowning in the snow on the way to and from the university. levie walked to the building stubbornly stomping her frozen sneakers on the icy mess that the sidewalk has become.  winter time has always been the slowest, it’s as if minutes and hours also have to swim through the thick snowdrifts covering every flat surface of the moscow region. after a few minutes which truly lasted an insufferable amount, levie got to the cloakroom.  amongst the colorful crowd something glowing caught her eye. after passing her coat to the cloakroom worker, she turned back towards the direction where she saw the glow only to find that all she sees now is green wool and sparkles.  from slightly above levie heard a cheerful hello, and hugged any designer’s nightmare back.  really, she couldn’t possibly believe that someone who studied the basic color theory could be this horrible at making any clothes-related choices. it was a giant sweater with a christmas tree and a real string of fairy lights sewn on top, and in this suspicious item of clothing was adrienne. tilting her head slightly up levie looked at her face, still rosy from the cold, and was caught off guard by the expression. adrienne’s eyes were sparkling with joy, and lips curved into a slightly one-sided smile. it took all of levie’s strength to look away and focus on what she just heard.  ‘let’s go ice skating today,’ adrienne suggested. just seeing her smile at the idea warmed levie’s heart, but of course she couldn’t agree without a fight.  ‘i’ll think about it,’ she replied, making the most serious expression.
