Chapter 1

It was hard to breathe, as if someone had placed a large, heavy stone on her chest. Hearing loud footsteps to her right, Kosach barely opened her eyes, but everything around her was swimming. An unpleasant chill ran down her spine; she was somewhere unknown and with whom, and if something happened, she did not have the strength to stand up for herself. However, when the excited “Olya” reached her ears, her soul became calm. She immediately recognized this voice and would never confuse it with anyone else.
“Everything is fine now, Ol,” Victor said soothingly and gently touched Kosach’s face with his palm.
Then everything was in a fog for Olga, but she remembered in fragments how Heavenly injected her with something, how she and Chablius were driving somewhere in a work car, and then Vitya helped her get to the bed and after that she fell through into a sound but restless sleep.
Opening her eyes, Olga realized that it was already morning and that she was completely not at home. Her heart began to tap-dance alarmingly, for it was as if she had found herself back in yesterday. Deja vu…
Sighing heavily, Olga slowly sat up and looked around, trying to at least understand a little where she was. Rising from the bed, the woman went to the window and sighed with relief, she knew this courtyard well and she could not be mistaken that this was the courtyard of Chablius.
Quietly opening the bedroom door, Olga carefully walked into the kitchen and, seeing Victor at the table, said quietly: “Good morning, Vit”.
“Oh, you’re already awake. How do you feel?” Shabliy asked smiling, then rose from his chair to pour Olga some coffee.
“Thank you, it’s much better now,” Olga smiled in response and sat down on the next chair.
“How you like it,” the man said, putting a cup of hot, aromatic coffee without sugar in front of the woman and looked carefully at Kosach.
She looked so homey and sweet. Olya, who was sitting in front of him and enjoying a tasty, bitter drink, looked completely opposite to the Olya that he saw almost every day at work and, strangely enough, he liked her in any form.
“I don’t understand what happened yesterday… I was driving home after work and stopped at a traffic light. “I woke up when you found me,” Olga said slowly after a short pause.
“Today is the 17th, that is, you were gone for 3 days,” the man answered gloomily, pursing his lips.
“You’re not joking now,” the woman either asked or said affirmatively and, lowering her head down, massaged her temples.
“Everything will be fine, we will find out who the kidnapper is and we will definitely find him.” “I promise you,” Shabliy promised in a decisive tone of voice in a whisper and, rising from his seat, walked up to Olga and hugged her from behind.
Pressing her back to Vitya’s chest, Olya closed her eyes. Finally, in the arms of a man who cared about her, she felt the long-awaited peace and comfort that she so lacked in these foggy, unconscious days.
