Emily held Lilith's hand tightly and walked toward the elevator. She heard a voice behind her. - Wait a minute. Why are you barging into the office like that?- It was Diana, she was concerned that Emily had taken Lilith out of class. Before Emily could say anything, Lilith spoke in a sad, thin voice. - It's okay Diana, Emily is under a lot of stress right now, but she's very kind and I hope I stay with her for a long time.- Lilith looked at Diana with sad eyes. Diana looked fiercely at Emily and said. - Don't ever do that. By then Emily had recovered from the shock and said. - I'm sorry, that was very rude of me. I'm struggling with my stress, and I hope I can be a good guardian.- Emily let go of Lilith's hand and put one arm around her. Diana just turned around without answering. - See you next week, Diana.- Lilith said to her. Emily walked briskly to the elevator. Lilith followed her. - Emily didn't like that Lilith was looking for victims in the group. She decided to let Lilith know in advance. -Why Emily? -An upset Lilith asked. In response, Emily only frantically pressed the elevator button. Lilith continued. - Why Emily? Why Emily? Why Emily? For the third time, Emily decided to answer. - Because you're using the group like a restaurant. You can't just come in here and pick any victim you want, be a little more selective. - Don't overreact, I picked the poorest girl in the group. Especially at her age, she was already addicted, and she was black. I don't remember meeting anyone more hopeless in my short life.- Lilith looked at Emily, waiting for an answer. Emily stepped into the elevator and said. - Okay, I understand that you need this like people need food and water. But next time you'll choose your victim better, or your short life might be cut short. - Emily tried to compromise. - Okay, it's a deal. It will be only black addicts or drug addicts, 10 years old or older, and I can kill them once every two months.- Lilith held out her hand to Emily. - No, that won't work, one person every six months. - Emily replied. - No, let's do one person every three months. -No, five months minimum, my little racist. - I suggest four months. - Four and a half. -We'll settle for four months. -Emily and Lilith smiled and shook hands. Lilith laughed and said. -If only my parents were also willing to make such a compromise. I would come to them on holidays with children in the future.- Lilith looked at Emily. -Well, now you'll have someone to drive your children to. I never thought demonic curse-bearers wanted to have kids. -So what, I'm the same person as you? I just have a slightly different way of eating and sleeping. By the way, can you take me to that Asian cafe where you had dinner with Mike tonight? -You read my mind, I wouldn't mind having lunch.- The elevator's up to the first floor. -Great! Can I go to group next week? -Let's just wait for the new "fresh meat" to arrive. Two weeks. -Okay, I'll wait. Lilith got off the elevator and headed for the exit. Emily followed her with a smile. .
