At the same time
The van with the bandits was still standing there and watching. — Maybe it just seemed to you? — asked Marb. — I definitely saw that old man enter this house. Something is wrong here. — Barry explained, looking at the door of the house through binoculars and even paying attention to the windows. In one window, he even noticed some kind of scientist’s toy watching him from the window. — What? — he didn’t believe his eyes, rubbed them, wiping the binoculars in one go and looked there again, and in that window the toy was no longer there, after which the thin man sighed with relief. — What are you doing? — his partner asked him, and he answered: — It seemed to me that someone was still sitting there and watching us. At that moment, the door opened, the old man came out onto the porch first, holding a pizza in one hand, and with the other hand he shook goodbye to a mannequin hand hidden behind the sleeves of a robe, in which the toys, standing on top of each other, hid again, pretending to be a person who lives in this house. — Thank you again for helping me understand decimals. Because lately I’ve become so old and everything is flying out of my head. — the old man said out loud specifically so that the bandits could hear him, although he was slightly overacting. — Well, thanks for sharing the pizza with me too. — Well what you? Thank you for stopping by to visit me. — Shadow also reprimanded on behalf of that supposedly man with his head covered with a bag. — If you want, you can come to me again tonight. I'm throwing a party tonight and I'll have a lot of guests. — Of course, I’ll definitely think about it and maybe coming again. After all, I really love young people. — Andrew played along again, after which they removed their hands and the toys closed the door behind them with fake hands, and Andrew turned back and saw the van with those two, pretended as if he did not know that they had returned. He changed his kind face to a stern one and shouted at them: — YOU ARE STILL HERE!!! GET OUT BEFORE I NOT CALL THE POLICE!!! It was useless to argue and the bandits moved away like a bullet, so as not to drive the old man into rage. Andrew, seeing how they drove away like a bullet, grinned to the side and calmly went home.Chapter Six: The Pizza Hustle

From the Author: We apologize that this chapter has not been published for so long. Each of us was busy with other things, and simply lacked inspiration for further writing.
At this time, two bandits were robbing another empty house. The big man took the clean dishes, carefully putting them in a bag so as not to break them, and left the house through the exit. Before leaving the empty house locked, he takes out “Moment” super glue and coats the edges of the doors, as well as low openings, with it, after which he locks it behind him, and checks for one by pulling it towards himself. The glue seems to have dried quickly and now even the owners won’t open it when they return. On the way, he laughed, imagining this in his head, carefully putting all the collected bags into the trunk of the van, after which he closed it tightly and sat down in the front seat with his partner. At this time, the partner was messing around and playing video games on his tablet.
— What's wrong with you? Why are you laughing so much? — Barry asked Marba, but the latter was laughing uncontrollably and could not calm down, still imagining it in his head. — You did it again? Yeah? Did you again tape up the exit door behind you?
— Come on! This is our business card. We're kind of sticky bandits. — the jock explained.
— Sticky? — asked the thin man, and the big man explains:
— The name sticky bandits has already been taken!
— Have you watched that movie again? — Barry asked, already guessing what his partner was talking about. The only response was a smile from ear to ear. — You are sick!
— I'm not sick!
— Only a sick person does that! We don't need these signs! We can easily be identified and caught! — an argument began between the thieves.
— Nobody will catch us! As long as we pay that sucker Jimbo, we're safe! He won't give us up! — assured Marb.
— Yes, but any other policeman will easily catch us and Jimbo won’t watch our backs all the time! He is a simple captain, not a general! — the skinny one had already started the engine and quietly moved away. — In any case, I’ll say it again, don’t pull that glue trick!
— Don't tell me what to do! I do what I want! — the big man freaked out, like a small child.
— No, you are definitely sick! You're a damn psycho! — the driver was distracted and did not notice how he was rushing straight at the old man passing by.
— Slow down, idiot! — Marb yelled and his partner managed to brake right in front of the nose of the frightened Andrew Omarov, who almost had a heart attack.
After standing in shock for a minute and coming to his senses, the grandfather walked away a few steps and did not hold back his indignation.
— Hooligans! Watch where you're going! Who gave you the license anyway?!
— Sorry, sir! We didn't notice you! — Barry started making excuses.
— You should also look around. — the thug leaned out of the window.
— But you should not talk, but watch the road! I have no idea what you were arguing about, but the screams were heard throughout the entire area! — the man made a remark and moved on. The van also slowly moved away and drove on.
At this time, Andrew approached the house he was heading to and went onto the porch, knocking on the door five times quickly and three times slower, then four more times faster, as if using a secret code. The toys realized that it was Andrew who came to them and they opened the door for him, allowing him to enter the house.
— Hello, Andrew! — Sonic greeted, closing the door. — What a surprise! We were just about to come to you!
— Hi guys. Why are you coming to see me so early? Did something happen again? — Andrew asked.
— Well... The thing is, we have pizza and we wanted to give it to you... — Amy explained, embarrassed.
— Pizza?! Where did you get it from?! — The toymaker was very surprised and scared.
— Cream wanted to surprise our hosts and ordered pizza. Only she didn’t think through how we would take her. We had to improvise, so we put on human clothes. Knuckles explained.
— I can imagine how we scared that courier... — Silver muttered.
— What about the payment? — grandpa couldn't get over the shock.
— You won’t believe it, but the courier was a little late while driving because he couldn’t find the right address. So he gave away the pizza for free. — Shadow explained.
— A! Well then you're in luck. But... — the toymaker looked straight at Cream. — Don’t take that risk again in the future. Okay! And if next time you suddenly want to arrange a surprise for your owners on our behalf, then first of all, just call first... Well, at least to me!
— Okay, forgive us. — the rabbit lowered her head, and grandpa patted her on the head.
— No offense! I know you wanted what was best. — the master reassured her. — By the way, why did I come in? I just came to check on you, how are you doing here without your owners?
— Everything is fine! — Omega replied, showing an iron thumb up.
— We still have something to do without our owners, and tonight we even had a party and danced until the morning. — Manik explained.
— You don’t have to worry about the garden in your backyard either. We sometimes go out to the greenhouse and take care of the vegetables ourselves. — Sonya added.
— And about the big.. By.. To.. Mato.. Moreover. — Gerald finished for her.
— Well done. By the way, hello to you too. — he took the doctor’s hand with his fingers and shook it. — You look exactly like that toy I once made for Danny. There are only a couple of differences.
— I know. After all, David’s grandparents already made me. — Gerald finished smiling.
— And I still can’t believe that I, oh, that is, you and I, now have two grandfathers. — Eggman wanted to finish first to himself, and then he remembered about Maria and corrected himself.
Andrew took the pizza and was about to leave, when he opened the door again and noticed the same van with those two guys who almost ran over him a couple of minutes ago. They looked suspiciously at the Drayton house and right at the entrance. He closed the door behind him, hoping that they hadn't seen him yet.
— What's wrong with you, Andrew? — Blaze was afraid for him.
— There are two guys there. Well, one is thin, and the other is healthy and looks like that actor, The Rock, it seems. Both are bald and in a van, with which they almost ran over me while I was walking towards you. I thought that they had already left, but they were looking suspiciously either at me or at your house. — Andrew explained, looking out lightly through the window, removing the curtain slightly.
— Maybe these are thieves? — suggested Infinite.
— Why do you think so? — Maria turned to him.
— I just heard somewhere that thieves showed up in our city. They say they rob one house every night and day, and when they take the loot, they seal the entrances and exits of the house with superglue, leaving it empty. — Infinite explained.
— Yes Yes. I heard about this too. They also say that one of them, just as a joke, left a letter taken and written with gloves on, which is why it was not possible to identify fingerprints and find out who the criminal was. These are sticky bandits. — Eggman finished.
— And most likely they are those two. — Gerald climbed onto the window sill, looking out with Andrew.
— Stop! — Maria came up with a brilliant idea. — They mainly attack and rob only those houses where no one lives yet or where no one is home?
— That's right! And what? — Infinite didn’t understand what the doll was up to.
— Have you watched the films Home Alone? - Amy immediately understood what Maria was hinting at, but the rest of the toys, except Maria, shook their heads in response. Maria then began to finish speaking:
— If we adjust the atmosphere so that at least someone is still in the house and lives, then these sticky bandits won’t even poke their noses in here.
— What if they eventually realize that there was actually no one at home? — Andrew was a little scared. — The risk is too high.
— Agree. — Tails did not argue. — And why make such difficulties? Should we just call the police? Let them come and arrest them on the spot?
— What if the bandits manage to steal all the loot and leave? The police may stupidly not have time to arrive. — Infinite explained, and Mephilis nodded in confirmation of Infinite's words, since he had no mouth and could not speak. Andrew drew attention to him and after a minute of silence, asked:
— Can’t talk? — asked and Mephiles nodded in response, making his eyes sad.
— Well, what did you expect? It has no mouth, so it can only communicate using sign language or moving its head to respond with either yes or no. — Rouge explained, and Mephiles only lowered his head in response, deciding to sigh heavily, but only silently lowered it.
— No problem. Now we'll fix everything! — the master answered, taking out a large black and indelible marker from the pocket of his jacket. — It’s not for nothing that I still carry it with me. — he added to himself and beckoned Mephiles to him. — Come here!... Well, come, don’t be afraid!
— This is the toymaker, not Oscar. You don't need to be afraid of him. — Cream encouraged him and Mephiles pretended that he wanted to sigh and still risked approaching Danny’s father.
At first her didn’t want to do this, but Mephiles nevertheless approached his grandfather, leaned his head towards the old man and closed his eyes, afraid that it would hurt. Andrew took off the cap of the marker and ran a black brush over the mouth area, drawing a small smile.
— That's it. It's ready. — he answered.
Mephiles opened his eyes slightly and turned his attention to his mouth area. Suddenly, the painted smile moved slightly, curling it like a wavy wave, then he tried to open it slightly, making a smacking sound. An image of a pink tongue inside the mouth was formed. He didn't stand for long in shock at the fact that he had his own mouth and was finally moving it. He smiles again and says his first word for the first time:
— Thank you. — and he said this not in his demonic voice, like his original from the games, but in a voice somewhat reminiscent of a shy ten-year-old boy. The rest of the toys gasped at what they saw and heard at the same time. Not from fear, but rather from surprise.
— Cheers! — Grandfather answers and, closing his marker with a lid, puts it back in his pocket. — I didn’t even know you were speaking in such a calm voice.
— I didn’t know that myself. To be honest, I was very afraid of scaring you all. — Mephiles admitted, still in the same calm voice.
— Why should we be afraid of you? — asked Maria.
— You see, we are all created in the image and likeness of our video game originals. My character speaks in a deep demonic voice because I am the villain. — the hedgehog explained, embarrassed.
— And that’s why you didn’t have a mouth? — Andrew asked.
— Almost. The fact is that my original did not have its own body and was dark matter. He createred Shadow's appearance before he was imprisoned in the scepter of Darkness, and "rose" from his shadow when the artifact shattered. And this Mephiles had no mouth.
The old man stood in shock, trying to comprehend what he had just heard.
— Well, that Mephiles didn’t have a mouth, but you will! — Silver encouraged, placing his hand on the demon's shoulder. — You are special to us!
— Thank you! — the toy demon was happy as never before. — Maybe I'll be lucky to find a mate too? — with these words he looked at Maria with a sly look.
— Slow down, faker! I don't need another opponent! Ivan is enough for me! — Shadow took the hint and didn’t like it.
— Stop it! — Amy appeared between the hedgehogs. — Leave your passions-faces for later! Now we need to figure out how to protect our house from thieves and help Andrew get home.
— Amy is right. You'll have to sort things out later. — Espio agreed and turned to the window. — What's with the van, Gerald?
— Her still standing there. — he answers.
— Maybe we can try the same trick again as with the courier who delivered us the pizza? — Cream suggested, raising her hand and everyone looked at her strangely. Cream lowered her head in frustration. — I know, I know, stupid idea. I'm silent and silent.
— What if... It works? — Andrew thought. He really liked Cream's idea.
