Xavier couldn’t sleep. He knew saving Abrahm was the right thing but he couldn’t help but think that there was something off about him. Of course, they didn’t get to talk much and didn’t know anything about each other and this weird behaviour could be simply because Abrahm is unwell, he wouldn’t know. Lying wide awake in his bed, his thoughts filled with some unwanted assumptions, Xavier slowly got himself to get up. He decided to go check on Abrahm so he quietly walked into the direction of his room. Opening the door, he looked at the bed where he thought he’d see the pink-haired man but... The bed was empty. It was completely untouched since he made it some time during the day. Xavier blinked fast, thinking his eyes were fooling him, but he quickly realized that there was actually no one in the bed. He simply sighed and left because there was nothing he could do about it. But now he knew he wouldn’t be able to fall asleep tonight.***
It didn’t take Abrahm much time to satisfy his hunger. He almost didn’t get any blood on him and it would be enough for him to just wash his face and hands to wash away all the traces of what he’s done. He looked up, hoping to see Jebodiah on the top of the building they were on, but he just sighed when he didn’t see him there. “How can you call yourself a ghoul if you get scared by seeing someone get killed?” Abrahm laughed quietly and began slowly walking to the direction of Xavier’s house. He wasn’t far away so it wasn’t a long walk. Yeah, he wanted to kill someone else tonight when he first got outside, but this desire was gone now. He got inside through the window exactly just how he left. That’s when he needed to start being more quiet. Trying not to make any sound, Abrahm walked to the bathroom to wash the traces of blood from his face and hands. After that he went to his room and got into bed as if nothing’s happened.***
In the morning Abrahm was woken up by Xavier who couldn’t even open the door quietly. Or it was just that simple to wake Abrahm up. It didn’t really matter, because he got enough sleep anyways. “Good morning” yawned Abrahm as he looked at Xavier and sat up on the bed. “Oh, Abrahm, you’re here… I walked in tonight and you weren’t in the room” recalled Xavier tonight’s events as he sat next to Abrahm. “I was probably in the bathroom when you walked in, don’t worry about it” shrugged Abrahm with a slight smile. Xavier didn’t reply and smiled back, getting a bit closer to Abe and wanting to put his head on his shoulder. Although he resisted himself because he didn’t want to make Abrahm uncomfortable. Who knew how he felt about it? But Xavier couldn’t sit like that for a long time because he heard his doorbell ring. He was surprised because he wasn’t expecting any guests today but he quickly got up to go answer it. Outside of his apartment was standing that blue-haired guy Abrahm saw tonight, he was about to break down and was biting his lip and preventing himself from even blinking, trying his best not to cry. It was obvious something happened. “McLaren, I didn’t expect you to come” smiled Xavier but his smile quickly faded when his brother fell into his arms and started crying. “What happened?” he asked quietly and hugged him back. Meanwhile Abrahm got up from the bed and stood behind the corner, listening to their conversation. He recognized McLaren. “Me and my boyfriend… We were walking home and…” started McLaren, it was hard for him to speak because he couldn’t calm himself down and stop sobbing. Seeing his brother like that broke Xavier, he was about to start crying as well. “We were attacked by a ghoul… He… He didn’t make it…” at these words he started crying even harder. McLaren had no one else to go to, he didn’t even know what to do with himself. It’s like his whole world fell apart that night and he hated himself for not doing anything. But he knew he had no chances against a ghoul, he had no choice but to at least save himself. Xavier patted him on the back, understanding that the best he could do right now it just be nearby. “I’m so sorry. I’m sure the CCG will be able to catch that ghoul. They’ll get what they deserve” whispered Xavier as he held his brother close. No one said anything after that and they just stood there hugging each other. Abrahm watched them, having no remorse for what he’s done. That guy was meant to die anyways, he was nothing but a weak human. McLaren would easily find a replacement. But McLaren wasn’t going to simply forget about someone who was so important to him. He will take vengeance on whoever took his boyfriend away, no matter what it will cost him.
