Chapter 1

Captain Price opened his eyes and saw a bright room, more like a hospital. The door opened and John saw his mentor, Captain MacMillan.
“Glad you're awake,” McMillan said.
- Where I am? Where's Soap?
- You are at my headquarters. And Soap is talking to his brother.
- With brother? - Price asked, watching McMillan sit down on the nearest chair.
- Yes, he has a younger brother. I just found out myself recently. James "Soul" McTavish and he's on my team. He is our doctor, he patched you and John up, as well as your two other guys. Ghost and Roach.
- Did they survive?
- Yes, Soul flew near that place and saw what General Shepard did to them. I came to their rescue and they ended up with us. They're fine now. How are you feeling?
- Better. Then you can tell your doctor thank you from me.
“You’ll tell it yourself,” McMillan smiled and steps were heard in the corridor, then the steps stopped near their door and it opened. Price saw that John and another man he didn’t know came to them, that guy looked a little like Soap and John guessed that he was his brother.
- Glad to see you in health, old man. - Soap said and sat down on the other side of the bed.
- Me too.
- By the way, meet my younger brother, James. He turns out to be a doctor here. James,” Soap turned to his brother. — Captain John Price.
“I’ve heard about you,” James said and extended his hand to John. “It’s a pity that we met under such circumstances.”
- I agree, but it’s better this way than nothing at all. - Price answered and looked at Soap and extended his hand to shake.
- Before I let you go, I need to make sure that everything is okay with you and I can send you back to headquarters with peace of mind. - James said and Price nodded. After examining the wounds, he nodded with satisfaction and said: “Everything is fine.” But if I were you, I would not be in a hurry to rush into battle for at least 3-4 days. This applies to you too, brother. - James looked at his brother, and Soap just rolled his eyes. “And there is no need to make such an expression on your face while you are injured, I am responsible for you.”
“Well,” MacMillan began. “If you’re both okay, then I suggest we meet with your people.”
Price and Soap looked at each other and followed MacMillan and James.
They walked along the corridors and there were doors on both sides. McMillan stopped at one of them and opened it; the interior looked like a lounge: a TV with a game console, a large table and chairs and a large sofa where Ghost and Roach sat and talked.
- Guys? Price asked.
- Hello, Price. - Ghost said and got up from the sofa, headed towards them, and Roach followed his example.
— I take it that everything is assembled? - James asked.
“Actually...” Soap began.
- I have already contacted your pilot, Nikolai. He's flying here. — McMillan notified everyone.
- I really hope that the next time we meet, you will not need the help of a doctor. - James said.
“Given our work, anything is possible.” - Price said.
“At least try not to get seriously injured again.” - Soul spoke.
“Come on, I’ll take you to the helicopter landing.” - McMillan said and led the others to the exit.
Going outside, they saw a large area: there was a training field for shooting, numerous types of military equipment and simple recreation in the fresh air. As they approached the landing, they heard the helicopter blades and looked up. The helicopter landed and the doors opened, and they saw Nikolai smiling.
- Did you order a taxi? - Nikolai looked at all his people, and then turned his gaze to James. — Soul, thank you for saving my guys. I've got a drink.
- Thank you, of course, but I don’t drink. - James answered. - But it will be better if you look after them.
“We agreed,” Nikolai answered and disappeared into the helicopter.
“I’m serious, John,” James began, turning to his brother. - Be careful.
Soap nodded at this and climbed onto the helicopter, the others followed him. James and Captain McMillan watched the helicopter take off and fly away.
- What do you say? - McMillan asked.
- About what? — Soul turned his head towards the captain.
- You are observant, express your conclusions. - If you mean that your former ward has a warm relationship with my brother, then do you mean that, captain? - Maybe. And I asked you not to screw me when we’re alone,” McMillan frowned. - Habit. - I will take her away from you. “I can’t wait,” James chuckled. - The beginning has already been made, let's go. Captain McMillan turned around and walked back to headquarters, and Soul followed him with a smile on his face.
Meanwhile, Captain Price was sitting in the helicopter next to Soap and closed his eyes with a calm soul, knowing that his people were alive and now they were heading home.
