Imagine that you were Loki's girlfriend and constantly tried to talk him out of dangerous ideas (such as taking over Asgard). He loved you sincerely and very much, but still decided to take over Asgard.

You were with Frigga and Foster when the Dark Elves came for Aether. As a result of Malekith's actions, the queen of Asgard was killed, and you were taken as a trophy by the king of Svartalfheim. Loki was only told about your mother, but they didn't say anything about you.
Then Thor decided to take pity on his little brother and came to him in prison to tell him what had happened.

"How desperate you are, brother, to come to me," says Loki wearily.
"Loki, Y/N is gone," Thor said with a tightening of his lips, "the moment Malekith came for Aether, she was with Mother and the illusion Jane, and our father and I came running when Y/N was already gone."
He watched Laufeyson's eyes widen, his face turn pale, and the black-haired man bite his lip mechanically.
"I'm sorry," the thunderer added, "but I'm sure she's alive and we'll be sure to find her."
And as Odinson left to consult with Heimdall, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, and Sif, Loki snapped.
"Y/N, I will find you," Loki promised in a hoarse whisper into the void.
