26th of May, 1929.
Leningrad, USSR.
Between Sennaya Square and Nevsky Prospekt, there was a small cafe "Daisy" on Sadovaya Street. His owner was Alexey Maysky, 42 years old. His parents were unremarkable immigrants from the lower middle class, he himself had two brothers, no education, a short military career and a strong aversion to hard supervisory work after the war. In his field of activity, he also proved that he has unsurpassed composure and natural charisma. Why did creating a bar seem like a good idea to him? Because, although alcohol was outlawed, the demand for it was always hyped, and he himself had a convenient secret place where he kept and sold it.
But everything changed when, one day in 1928, he was found brutally murdered in his apartment. He was so stuffed with lead that even the morgue worker did not allow him to show his family.
It is not necessary to say that after this, things deteriorated sharply, and almost all customers were beaten off by a competing enterprise.
His wife, Maria Mayskaya, a year later, after the tragedy, reopened the underground drinking room under the cafe not without someone else's help - another NEPMAN, Sergei Sablin, who had retrained in time to help the Soviet government in this difficult time, found something like that in Mayskaya, and she was not that against it. Another person was against it, - Roman Rykovsky, a 23-year-old boy who worked at Romashka. But it will be discussed a little later...
