«May you always be small, otherwise your parents will become cruel».
He would like to reclaim his innocent past. Looking ahead, leaving the village, he wanted it so much. But he didn't look back anymore. There was a dark bruise on his cheek, left by a stone thrown at him. Yes, there were large maroon stains on the shirt. There were tears in his eyes that hadn't been shed yet. And he didn't dare cry, not knowing what it was.
Kenji didn't understand why this happened at all. It didn't happen today or tomorrow, it was a long time ago.
Everything was as usual in the village. People lived their little lives without thinking about something global. They had enough of what they would have had during the harvest season or in winter, when supplies were slowly being used up. For them, it was a small paradise in which there is no place for evil and cruelty. And although they threw evil people off the cliff, otherwise they considered this place to be the abode of good. How could it be otherwise when they had such an innocent boy? It seemed that the whole village knew that he would remain the same.
But they could not imagine that this would change soon. They couldn't say a word when his abilities showed up. What about him? He was holding out a small bird with a broken wing to his grandfather and did not understand why he was looking at him with horror. The boy did not understand that he was the reason that blood flowed from the bird's body. In the end, he picked up her small weak body from the ground, tried to caress her, warm her. He stroked the dirty feathers on his head with his small fingers. But the bird only squeaked loudly, convulsed and went limp, silent.
The boy did not know what to do, did not understand why he had so much horror and fear. He was smiling sunnily, shivering slightly from the morning cold. Grandpa collected his thoughts for a few seconds. Finally, he shook his head. No, of course it's nonsense. This boy, like an angel descended from heaven, cannot be a murderer... especially at the age of seven. Looking more closely, he noticed a broken wing of a bird. Perhaps this is the reason for the death of the bird — that is, he tried to believe it.
Because the angel of their village can't be a demon.
Kenji hugged him when he finally smiled back at him. In the end, he helped the bird — now she is sleeping.
