Chapter 1 "Is there any common sense left in our lives?"

“A month has passed since the victory over Vecna.
We’ve been through so much, we’ve been through a lot. Is this really the
beginning of a new path, or is this nightmare not over yet?
I would really like to believe that it’s all over, but I can’t do it anymore…
I can’t lie to myself that I don’t feel anything…”
- Knock Knock! — a knock and a cheerful voice was heard outside Will’s window.
Seeing the knocker, he broke into a tender smile — Mike was there!
What a surprise! He put his notebook and pen aside.
- Mike! — the guy shouted and ran to open the window, laughing.
Only when this brown-eyed boy climbed into his room did Will notice the small
box in his hands and glanced at it, then looked questioningly at Mike.
- Oh, that’s… I wanted to show you something that’s there…
Will looked at the guy in surprise and excitement.
- What is this… a gift? — he asked enthusiastically.
His heart trembled with excitement.
Mike was a little confused:
- Uh… Well, yes, — he looked kindly at his friend. — I… Well, it seemed to me
that… What I gave you for your birthday was not the best gift for you…- he
looked, looking away to the side, blushing slightly.
Of course, he lied about the fact that it was supposedly a birthday present. In
fact, there was more to it than just a gift.
- Oh, — Will chuckled nervously. — You shouldn’t have bothered yourself so much about it! You are the most beautiful…- he smiled shyly, — your gift was wonderful, I really liked it! — at that moment he wanted to hug him very much and cry from such a touching act.
The guy came closer to Wheeler and lightly put his hand on his shoulder.
-Mike… — he was about to say something.
- Mike!!! — then Nancy bursts into the room, having come to visit Jonathan. It
seems that she was clearly dissatisfied with something. — I hope this is not
your doing?! — Looking gloomily at her brother, she put her hands on her
hips.
- What are you talking about?! — Mike looked at her with confusion.
- Let’s go, I’ll show you! Jonathan will show you! — She grabbed his hand and
led him somewhere downstairs.
On the first floor, everything seemed to be the same, only an angry Jonathan
stood near the telephone:
— Well, firstly, Nancy and I saw you climb out the window, and secondly, until you showed up, this didn’t happen, — looking sideways at the phone, he handed it to the guy; Mike noticed that the wire was torn off. — Put it to your ear! — Joe ordered.
Wheeler looked in surprise at his sister’s boyfriend, but did not dare to
disobey him and took the device in his hands, falling into a stupor from what
he heard.
-What do you hear? Interference? — asked Nancy.
-Voice, — he said in fear.
His answer shocked them both.
- Oh — oh! Has it really started?! — Jonathan said excitedly and expressively,
throwing his ribs up.
- What kind of voice?! — the sister shouted worriedly.
-He said: “The end of everything is coming. All you need is Lipriconn.”
— Lipriconn…- Nancy said thoughtfully. — I think I heard something, and if it’s true, then… You can’t hesitate! — She looked decisively at Mike and John.
- Wait, Nancy, let’s not rush, we need to figure everything out. I understand
that we recently experienced something… truly strange, but we shouldn’t
completely lose our minds and… There should be common sense in everything…
- he said the last phrase somehow hesitantly.
Nancy sighed heavily and said:
- And he remained in our lives?! Common sense? — She said excitedly, looking at
her boyfriend with regret.
- Common sense? Maybe not! But the adventures remain! — Mike said with a bit of
positivity in his voice.
Nancy put her arm around his shoulder tenderly.
