Day. What could be more terrible than a summer day? Probably just boring work. That’s what Jamie is struggling with right now. Of course, it’s fun to deliver letters all over the town, but he wanted some cold water and rest. Sweat was slowly dripping from the young man’s forehead, making it clear that he needed to finish faster.
There are only 5 pieces of letters and one small parcel left. “Great. I’ll be done soon. I’ll take the package first!” said Jamie, taking a small box out of his bag. Stephen Universe’s address was written on it…
“Oh my God, now we have to go through the whole city!” the guy whined dramatically. Therefore, he looked at the letters, and then you never know if you’ll have to come back again! It’s good that all the addresses were nearby and basically all the letters were addressed to the residents of the beach town. Delicious and fresh pastries from the “Big Donut” came to the boy’s head, as well as well-fried French fries from some diner, the name of which the young man successfully forgot. It’s been a long time since there was a postman in that part.
After a while, Jamie reached the boy’s house. The young man was always amazed by the location of the building itself. It’s literally a house in a huge stone figure! It seems like this statue has been here since the time of the settlers. A joyful Stephen ran out of the house. The postman pulled out the parcel and the tablet is meant to be a paper tablet. with a pen.
— Hi, Jamie, — the boy was twitching all over and waiting for his parcel — My book has arrived, right?!
— Yes, here it is, — he held out the box — Stephen, before I give it back, you have to sign it!
— Okay, come on, just hurry up!
James handed him a document with a pen and the boy quickly signed it.
— Here you go, — the postman gave him the book with a smile — Good luck!
— Thank you very much, Jamie! Stephen said, running back into the house.
The young man turned around and went on to do his job. He was passing through a bakery, so he finally picked up his favorite banana donuts.
The last 4 letters have been delivered, only one remains. “So, who’s next there?” the young man said with a note of fatigue. Damn, it was a letter for Kevin.
Kevin is the most narcissistic cretin of all those who could be found in the city. He is very rich and can afford to look fashionable and beautiful.
“Okay, you just need to throw the letter in the box and that’s it.” the young man whispered, walking towards his house. To be honest, Jamie didn’t really hate him that much. He just understood that this person just needs attention, which Kevin clearly does not receive in due measure. Everyone has their own sorrows and shortcomings. In this regard, Jamie thinks sensibly.
After a couple of minutes, he reached the villa. A huge house, you can’t say anything. It is made in the “hi-tech” style, looks like a white cube with panoramic windows and wooden details, a fairly large courtyard with a swimming pool. The building was surrounded by a high white fence with doors and gates for cars. His yellow sports car was parked on the plot, and everything was covered with greenery. Jamie could only dream of such a life.
A small mailbox hung to the left of the door. The young man took a letter out of his bag and quickly threw it into the slot. The postman was about to leave, but suddenly the door opened from behind. The owner of the house came out from there. Kevin is always dressed stylishly, even now. He leaned against the doorway and smiled wearily.
“I haven’t seen you in these circles,” Kevin began.
— No, I’ve been living here for a long time. Jamie was a little nervous.
— Hmm, — Kevin thought, — What’s your name?
— Jamie.
—That’s it, Jamie. Come to the parties at least once in a while, okay? Otherwise, you will spend your life only at work. — the guy reached into the drawer and took out a letter.
— I’ll tell you honestly, I don’t really like such events. — the postman relaxed a little, folding his arms on his chest, and thoughtfully looking away.
— Come on, — Kevin looked at him in surprise, distracted from the letter — I’m surprised. You look well-groomed, neat. In appearance, he is quite attractive. You look like a young guy who lives like that!
A blush appeared on Jamie’s cheeks.
— Tonight there will be a party in the same abandoned building that is in the beach town, — the young man said quickly, turning his back to the postman — Bye.
The door slammed shut. Jamie didn’t know what to say. He fell into a stupor, and his face was blushing. “Was that a compliment?” the guy asked himself. The postman understood that it was somehow strange to stand here, so he turned around and left, plunging into his reasoning.
On the way to the post office, the word “attractive” did not want to come out of the young man’s head. It seemed like an ordinary compliment, but from Kevin’s mouth it sounded somehow special. Jamie felt a warmth in his soul, remembering this ordinary word.
