Chapter 10. One-way ticket.
November 24, 2023 at 6:32 AM
Opening his eyes,
Soulless saw the ceiling of the room in front of him, looking around, he saw
that Sakura was asleep on a chair. When he examined himself, he saw that his
entire chest was bandaged. After lying down for a while, the Soulless One got
up and sat down on the bed, then opened the drawer, took out his clothes, and
somehow dressed himself in a way that hurt every movement. After dressing, he
took a pack of cigarettes out of his jeans and lit a cigarette, then walked to
the door and left the room, when he reached the main hall, he was noticed by
Monocle, he ran up to the Soulless, bowed and said:
“You’re
awake!”
-Yes. Gather
everyone who survived. General Meeting.
-Ok. Monocle said,
bowed, and left.
- As usual, you
run away. I heard it from behind me.
“This time
there was no one lying on top of me.
“Half of your
chest was ripped open. So not an option.
- How long did I
lie down?
- A day and a
half. Maybe more.
-Got it.
When everyone
gathered at the base, Soulless turned on the loudspeakers and said:
-Attention. From
this day forward, you are all free. From now on, there are no “black”
or “soulless” people.
In the lobby,
everyone began to actively discuss this news.
- And what is the
meaning of this? The king asked.
“And the fuck
knows,” Rain said.
- Do you think
this is another idea? Falcon asked.
“Ask me
something lighter,” Monocle said.
The mouse squeezed
into Soulless’s office and shouted:
“You can’t do
that!”
There was silence
in the room.
“Fuck the
mice,” Rain said.
“Uh-huh,”
the king agreed.
“Oh, you
fool,” said the Shore.
“He’s going
to be killed,” Monocle said.
Soulless
approached the Mouse, and the Mouse’s legs began to shake.
- What do you
propose? Soulless asked.
“N-n-I don’t
know…
-Exactly.
Soulless went to
his desk, thought for a moment, and said:
- Monocle here.
- Monocle of you!
Someone in the crowd shouted
-A what?
“I think
you’re finished.” Rain said.
“you…
The monocle
squeezed into Soulless’s office.
-Close the door.
When the door was
closed and the loudspeakers turned off, Soulless said:
- Like in a crowd?
- There are a lot
of people who are dissatisfied.
-Reason?
“They don’t
want to leave, and they have nowhere to go.
-Hmm. Ok. Will you
accept the fast?
“W-w-your-w-your-s-
-Yes.
“It’s an
honor for me! Monocle shouted and bowed.
- But with a few
conditions.
-What?
After Soulless
said the terms, Monocle agreed without blowing it up, and Soulless turned on
the speakers and said:
- From now on, you
obey the Monocle.
There was silence
in the hall, but it was not long before everyone began to clap and rejoice.
- Go, you’re in
charge now.
-And you?
“I’ll be back
soon.”
Monocle bowed and
left. Only Soulless and Sakura remained in the office.
“Are you
going to leave now?”
-Hmm. See.
- Again until you
get bored.
-Almost. Whenever
I want, and only from the outside.
-Hmm. Sakura
grinned, “Impenetrable.”
-Yes.
Soulless stepped
out into the main hall. Everyone fell silent.
- And so. Soulless
said, “From now on, Monocle is in charge of everything, just like the
Hail. — he added.
-And you? The
forester asked.
“And I’m
dead.” So, don’t break what’s left and remember that I’ll get you
everywhere.
Everyone changed
their faces, and then they bowed synchronously.
-Hmm. Soulless
grinned, and then walked to the car and got into it. Sakura approached the car.
“Where are
you going now?”
-I don’t know.
“And you’re
going to give it up like that?”
- I didn’t throw
it, I passed it on.
-Again.
-Yes. And then
you’ll come back to ask me to solve the problems.
“You’ll break
down and come back.”
-See. Goodbye,
Sakura.
“I’ll see you
again.”
-It’s possible.
Soulless slammed
the door and drove off into the distance. Six months have passed since the
departure of the Soulless. All factions were declared defeated, and the Cleaner
units were disbanded. In the meantime, the groups went into the shadows and
began to do business around the world, but there were conflicts, but they were
not large-scale, so the police wrote it all off as local squabbles, not without
the help of money, of course. The territories were divided between:
“Blacks”, “Whites”, “Dark Blues”, “Light
Greens” and “Greys” (Those who have separated from
“Blacks” and “Whites” and act as a neutral gang for
“Blacks” and “Whites”). Grad and Mole continued to rule
their territories and engage in business. Soulless was lying on a deck chair,
Misha in his left hand and a glass of whiskey in his right, and the sun was
shining in his face.
“You’ll have
to wait for me,” Soulless said quietly.
- Left again
without waking up. Sakura said.
- I wanted to be
alone a little longer.
-Tc.
Sakura noticed
Soulless drinking whiskey.
“The doctor
forbade you to drink.
-Yes. And I
allowed myself.
-Idiot.
Sakura stepped
closer and said:
-Move.
Soulless sighed
heavily, but moved away so that Sakura could lie down beside him, hugging him.
- Answer the
question. Soulless said.
-What?
“Are you
really sick?”
- What are you
talking about?
“Why did you
follow me?”
-I don’t know.
- Another
question. Why didn’t she kill me?
-I don’t know. And
you ask this every day, aren’t you bored?
- We need to find
at least some interest.
“Are you
interested in pestering me?”
-Yes.
- You don’t
change.
“Yes,”
Soulless replied thoughtfully and wiped Mike’s token with his thumb.
“Will you
throw it into the sea?”
- We are not in
the cinema, and this is the only thing left of it.
-Got it. How are
you doing?
- It seems to be
fine. They’re busy with something. They don’t touch me, so I don’t care. And
yours?
“Don’t forget
that yours are in charge of mine.
-Yes. That’s why
they had a conflict, and Monocle was convulsing.
“They just
scared you.
-Who?
-Mimosa.
- M. Prepare the
black bags.
Sakura raised her
head in fright.
“Y-t-you,
what?!” She shouted.
“I’m covered
in your hair again.”
- Don’t evade the
question!
- Calm down, I’m
not interested.
Sakura exhaled and
lay back down.
- But Grad is very
interesting.
Sakura pinched the
Soulless One and said:
-Fool!
-Yes…
- What’s next?
-Death.
“And before
her?”
-I don’t know. If
I’m lucky, I’ll survive, and if I don’t, I’ll die.
“And if you survive,
what are you going to do?”
- That’s a tough
question. I don’t have a goal, so I guess I’ll live for myself, as I wanted.
“I see,”
Sakura said in a sad voice.
Soulless sighed
heavily and said:
- That’s a tough
question. There is no goal, so we will probably live for ourselves, as we
wanted.
Sakura smiled and
said:
- I did.
- I’ve been seeing
your sour face for two weeks, I’m sick of it.
“Haven’t you
begun to feel anything other than hatred and malice?”
- As one person
put it, “Is Sakura’s ass
crazy?”
-A what?! Who said
that?
- A good friend of
mine.
-Panic?
-Misha. His name
was Misha.
-Yes. Forgive me.
May I ask a question?
-Yes.
- There were no
explosives at that time, were they?
-Yes.
-Reptile.
“Did you cook
dinner?”
-Yes.
- Is it possible
to eat it and not get poisoned?
- You’ll cook
dinner yourself!
- I think I’ll
refuse.
- Then eat and
don’t complain! Sakura said offended, “Let’s go home, or the food will get
cold.” — she added.
“Mg,”
Soulless said and put Mike’s dog tag in his pocket, then took a bullet from
another and threw it into the sea.
-What was that?
- Oh, yes… The
last thing… Hmm. My one-way ticket.
- As usual, not
answers, but riddles.
- Yes, that’s
right…
Soulless and Sakura got up from the deck chair and went home.
