Chapter 4. Questions.

-Where am I? Sakura asked.
She tried to move her arms, but she couldn’t, looking at her hands she
saw that they were tied to a chair.
-What do you want?
Then the black dot began to approach, she had something in her hands.
Approaching the dense head, they lifted and poured something into their mouths.
Sakura couldn’t resist. After recovering a little, Sakura tried to figure out where
she was. Taking a closer look at the black dot, she realized that it was the
Soulless.
“Y-t-you?”
“You’ve come to your senses quickly.
-What are you doing?
“I’m saving your aimless life.”
Sakura didn’t understand.
“What were you doing in that building?”
“It’s none of your business.
Soulless didn’t say anything. Pulling out a pistol, he checked it and
pointed it at Sakura. A picture of the building flashed before Sakura’s eyes
and she screamed.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- I will not repeat the question.
Sakura lost her head and tears began to flow. Soulless then took a mug
of water and splashed the water on Sakura. Sakura continued to cry.
-Time. Soulless pointed his pistol at Sakura.
-Two. He took the safety off the pistol.
Sakura lifted her head and froze, the tears stopped flowing, only her
breathing was ragged.
-Three.
“Wait, I’ll tell you!” Tell!
-Listen. Soulless said without lowering his pistol.
“N-n-we got an order from an unknown person.
- What’s the order?
- Y-elimination of the target.
-Payment?
- The weapons that were there.
-…
“We came, and it turned out to be an ambush.
-Loss?
- I can’t say.
Soulless strained his finger on the trigger.
- I don’t know, really!
-Lying.
“No, I swear! Believe me! There was no connection!
-Farther.
- Then there was shooting, screaming, then you appeared.
- Who is the customer?
“I’m not knowing.
- Where did the order come from?
- We don’t know. We don’t check.
-Got it.
-That’s all?
-Almost. Now all that’s left is to kill you.
-A what!? I’ve said it all!
- You’ve seen a lot.
“Stop, please!”
- Hello bee.
Sakura closed her eyes and heard three gunshots. She continued to sit
with her eyes closed, but she felt no pain. Then she opened her eyes and saw
that Soulless was sitting in front of her with a downy pistol, then she lowered
her head to see where the bullets had hit, but there was not a single hit on
the body.
- “Missed? No, Sakura thought.
“You didn’t mean to kill me.
-No. Then the blood would be gone.
-A what?
Sakura looked at her left arm, there was a needle with blood running
down it.
“Did you give me the blood from your stock?”
- As you can see.
“And whose blood did you take from?”
Soulless got up from his chair, put away the gun, walked over to Sakura
and removed the needle, then took the bag of blood from the counter and threw
it into Sakura’s lap. She began to read the tag.
“Y-Yours!?”
Soulless took the walkie-talkie, put it to his mouth, and said:
-Block.
-Yes?
- Rejection of blood.
-I got it. We’ll take it back now.
“You can’t, then the blood will be gone.”
-Let.
“W-What?”
-…
- Stop, stop, stop, I’m glad and grateful! Do not!
The Equipment Block came into the office.
-Start. Leave the door open.
Blok bowed and began to prepare the equipment.
-No! Don’t wait! That’s not what I meant, honestly!
Block placed a needle in a vein.
-No! You are welcome! Please!
-…
- You’re good to go. Blok said.
-Start.
-Pull over! You are welcome! You are welcome!
Soulless took the walkie-talkie and said:
- “Charlie” prepare the bags.
- Understood.
-Wait! I want to live! I want to live!
“His methods scare me. Mars said.
-Shut up. Nat said.
“What’s that screaming?” — said the rider who ran up.
Nat nodded toward the office.
“Yours!” The rider said quietly, “Where’s Rose?”
-Somewhere. Nat said.
- No, no, no! Sakura kept shouting.
- I’ll go and get the car ready. — said the racer.
-Wait.
“I’ll tell you everything!” All! Just stop!
-Block.
The unit stopped and began to remove the equipment. When he had
finished, he left the office and closed the door.
- What do you want?
-Cargo.
“Please tell me what you want now?”
-All.
“What’s it!?”
-…
-Ok. I don’t know where the cargo is, what is there and everything else
about the cargo. I know that it exists or existed.
-Farther.
“What else!?”
-Where is he?
-Who?
-…
“If you’re talking about your fugitive, I don’t know either. He
just disappeared
- What was he doing before he disappeared?
- Nothing special. Maybe he decided to give up everything and live in
peace.
- Corpses don’t live.
-Corpses?
“You don’t have any information for me, you’re useless.
Soulless drew his pistol.
-Wait! That’s not all!
-…
- There will be a war at home soon.
-Learn more.
- The “whites” who want to destroy you there.
- Decide how to avoid it.
-I can’t.
-Why?
- Because they have become on their own.
- How did you find out about the war?
- Passed on by those who are against.
-Are you sure?
-Yes.
Soulless walked over to the table and took out a sheet of paper and a
knife. After giving it to Sakura, he said:
-Sign.
-Contract?
-…
“You know it’s crazy.
-…
Soulless took a knife and stabbed Sakura’s finger.
“Will you untie your hands?”
Soulless freed one hand and handed the paper to Sakura. Sakura dripped
blood with shaking hands and put the sign “white”.
-All?
-Yes.
“Will you let me go?”
-No.
-A what!?
Soulless took a black bag from his pocket. And he hit Sakura, causing
her to lose consciousness. After regaining consciousness, Sakura opened her
eyes, she was in an unknown location. When she got up, she realized that she
was in some kind of bar, and when she finally came to her senses, she saw that
Soulless was sitting in front of her, in ordinary clothes.
-Where are we?
- At the bar.
“What do you mean?”
-Drink.
Soulless poured something into a glass and handed it to Sakura.
-Poisoned?
With that, the soulless one emptied his glass, and then Sakura’s glass,
and poured a new one.
“If I was poisoned, I wouldn’t drink.
Sakura cautiously took the glass and gulped down its contents.
-Boo! What is this?
-Whisky. Soulless said, and emptied his glass.
“Why do you need all this?”
Soulless took out a pack of cigarettes, took out one cigarette and lit
it. Handing out a pack of cigarettes, Sakura said:
-Going?
-No.
Without answering, Soulless put a pack of cigarettes and a lighter on
the table, then poured whiskey into glasses.
- Why are you doing this?
-Want to.
- Do you want something?
-Yes.
- It is wrong to achieve one’s desires by torturing and humiliating
others.
- Tell me the one who lost a lot of people not so long ago.
Sakura made a face that combined pain, anger, and sadness. Somehow she
said:
-I… I didn’t want that to happen. You’ve been there, is there anyone
alive?
-Only you.
Sakura lowered her head.
“you!”
Soulless filled his glasses.
- Tell me, how did you lose people, but remained calm?
-Used.
-Used? Why is it that all your people are being killed? Or the fact that
you don’t consider people to be your dolls?
“If you kill yourself about every loss, you’ll be like you.
- How am I?
- Do you kill yourself for every person you kill, and where are you? You
have about the same amount of losses as I do.
- Don’t compare me to yourself!
- I am not comparing, but stating facts. You’re responsible for them.
All the corpses are on your hands.
“But still, my hands are cleaner than yours.” Your hands are
up to your elbows in blood.
-…
“I know you.
-No.
-Why?
“You know the outside, but you don’t know the inside.
“For as long as I’ve known you, you’ve always been like this.
Cruel, cold, you don’t care about people, you don’t care about yourself.
-It’s possible.
-It’s possible? Bee, me, Sim, Three, Greek and that’s just what comes to
mind, and how many more? Of all the people I’ve named, I’m the only one alive.
Because of your cruelty, they’re calling you “soulless"—and it’s only
now that Sakura realizes that they’re in an empty bar—"and where are the
people?”
-No.
-Nobody?
-No. Soulless said and drank.
Sakura repeated after him.
“Everyone you mentioned was killed for a reason. You’re only alive
because I didn’t kill you…
“Because you’re afraid of war. Sakura interrupted.
-No. You said yourself that I don’t care about myself or people. Society
called me “soulless”. Know what?
-A what?
Soulless took out a pistole, placed it with the muzzle towards him, and
pushed it towards Sakura.
-Come on.
-A what?
- Pull the trigger.
“There’s a blank like they were back then.
-Check. Soulless said and began to pour whiskey into glasses.
Sakura took the pistole, began to check the cartridges, there were
loaded live cartridges.
-What for?
“You want to kill me, here’s your chance.”
- If I kill you, there will be a war.
-No.
-Why?
“You’re lost to your own people, so they won’t recognize.” For
my own people, I’m lost.
- Nat will find out.
-No. Jammers.
“Who doesn’t know we’re here?”
-Yes.
Sakura raised her gun and pointed it at Soulless.
“As soon as you’re ready, you’ll tell me to have a drink.”
Sakura hesitated.
-I can’t.
-…
-I can’t!
Sakura tossed the pistole on the table.
- Raise the glass.
Sakura didn’t answer, but silently raised her glass. Soulless clinked
hands with Sakura and gulped down the whiskey from his glass. Sakura, after
sitting in one position for a while, also drank.
“Did you say you could do whatever you wanted?” Now you want
to give me a drink and take advantage of me?
- It depends on when and in what way.
“Don’t take me for a fool. You know what I’m talking about.
“If you’re talking about bed, I’ll think about your
suggestion.”
- I didn’t offer you. Hot.
Sakura began to take off her sweater.
“If you want to be here, it’s not the most convenient place.
- I’m hot. 'Cause you’re giving me a drink.
- You’re the one who drinks.
“Then you stop pouring.”
-No. Soulless said and poured more.
“You see, you still do it your way.
- I don’t listen to drunks.
- And myself.
- Thank you.
-…
- No, really. Not only did he save me from these freaks, but he also
gave me a blood transfusion. True, you are a moral freak for torture. I never
ask for that.
- The paradox of people. You drink with a moral freak, you say that he
makes you drunk, but you keep drinking.
“I’m just tired. I’m tired of it all and of you too. You can’t live
normally, you don’t have a middle ground. First you torture, then you sit and
talk as if nothing happened.
“You can leave.”
-No. This may be the last time you’re like this.
-What? Soulless said and lit another cigarette.
“So ordinary, yet gloomy with his heavy, vacant gaze. You know,
maybe that’s what appeals to me about you, but you’re ruining everything. The
bee wasn’t to blame and where is it now? She just took a wrong turn. If she
hadn’t contacted you, she would have been alive.
Sakura’s tears began to flow as she lifted her glass.
-Come on.
Soulless and Sakura clinked. When the glasses were empty, Sakura said:
- Explain what’s in your head.
-No.
“Please, I really want to understand how you think.”
- You can’t do it.
-Why?
- Because I don’t know.
-A what?
- Schrödinger’s cat.
-That is?
- I’m there, but I’m not.
“And you say I’m drunk.” You’re alive, you’re breathing,
you’re thinking. You live regardless of whether you are seen or not.
- Do you see my thoughts?
-No.
- Do they exist?
-Yes.
- It’s simple.
“But it doesn’t work that way.
-It’s working.
-Hmm. I don’t understand you. And you lit a cigarette again. Can?
Soulless nodded his head. Sakura lit a cigarette, but immediately
coughed.
-Lath. That kills.
-Hmm. Soulless grinned.
- This is the first time I see that you have positive emotions.
- Do you know who Prometheus is?
“Something out of mythology,” Sakura said with a stammering
tongue.
“So think of me as Prometheus, only with different views.
- Do you understand who you are comparing yourself to?
-Yes.
- Icarus once flew close to the sun and burned his wings. You are Icarus,
who will one day burn his wings, and I will hasten this event.
- Do you break your teeth?
-No.
- I’ll wait. Soulless said, filling his glasses.
-Idiot. Sakura replied and raised her glass.
Sakura and Soulless emptied their glasses.
- That’s interesting. I drank so much, but I didn’t get too drunk.
You’ve mixed something up. You’re almost sober over there.
-No.
- Why is it hot here? And I can’t undress.
-Up to you.
- I don’t buy it!
-…
“Just to stare at me!”
“I wish I could strip it back then, or while you were lying
here.”
“And how do I know you didn’t undress and then put it back
on?”
-Foolishly.
-Tc. Foolishly. Would you like to pour some more?
-Pour.
Soulless filled his glasses. Sakura raised her glass and said:
- So that the creature does not take more than one life. Sakura said and
sawed half of it.
-Abomination! You’ve added something to me!
-No.
- Come and try!
- Give me a glass.
- Hand must not be changed!
Soulless approached Sakura.
-Come on.
-No! Drink from your hands! You can’t change your hand!
- It’s about the one who pours it.
-No!
Soulless sighed and leaned into the glass as soon as he took the first
sip, Sakura quickly removed the glass, took the gun, put it to Soulless’s
temple, and kissed him. Turning her head away from Soulless, Sakura said:
-Farther.
- And if you don’t?
-Kill.
-Can?
-It’s easy.
“Scare me with death when I gave you the gun…”
Sakura didn’t listen any further, but held the gun even tighter and
said:
-Farther.
-…
