Chapter 1

Blaine and Lyle were an unlikely couple, having come from two very different backgrounds. Omega was rough and macho, with the attitude to match, while Lyle was sweet and gentle, preferring to spend his time baking cookies rather than working out. Despite their differences, they had fallen in love and wed. Blaine was always protective of Lyle, but lately, he had become particularly possessive. One night, after returning home from work, he found that Lyle had baked some cookies for a new neighbor who had recently moved in. He was livid.
Lyle smiled affably, taking out a cookie sheet and putting it on the table in front of a red-haired young omega who recently moved into a house nearby. "Honey, you're already back from work!"
Blaine was not at all joyful and friendly like his husband, he wanted to shout and find out what kind of whore was sitting at their kitchen table.
Blaine's temper flared as he stood at the kitchen doorway, watching Lyle's friendly interaction with the redheaded omega. He snarled, "What are you doing, whore? I thought you'd be in the kitchen waiting for me with dinner."
Lyle turned to face Blaine, hurt and embarrassed by the way he was speaking. "I just wanted to welcome our new neighbor. I thought everyone liked cookies?"
Blaine was seething. How could Lyle have the audacity to bake cookies for someone besides him? Especially a red-haired omega. This was unforgivable. And to make it worse, they were sitting at his kitchen table. He had to make Lyle understand that he was in the wrong here, and he would do what he needed to do to make sure that never happened again.
"Why the hell are you bringing some sluts into our house!? Are you cheating on me, you fucking asshole?" Blaine grabbed her husband by the hair and hit his head on the kitchen table.
Lyle shouted in pain, and tears swelled in his eyes as Blaine yanked him around by his hair. He was scared and confused, not understanding what he had done to provoke such a violent response from Blaine. All he had done was bake some cookies, something he had done many times before. It was something he did to show his appreciation for the people in his life, not to seduce any red-haired omegas. Blaine, however, wasn't listening. He just wanted to hurt Lyle for his perceived infidelity. The next thing Lyle knew, he was on the floor, and Blaine was towering over him.
The red-haired omega just ran away while Blaine was punching her husband in the face, smashing the alpha's nose.
Lyle covered his face, trying to withstand the barrage of fists that Blaine rained down on top of him. The punches left him bruised and bloodied, and by the end, he was a mess. The last punch he received sent his head slamming into the cabinet door, knocking him unconscious.
While Lyle lay unconscious, Blaine stood over him, satisfied with his work. He was furious that Lyle would dare to even talk to another omega, let alone bake them cookies. He would teach his husband a lesson he would never forget.
Omega's fists were covered in his husband's blood. The brunette sat down on a kitchen chair and watched his alpha lying on the floor all beaten up.
Lyle lay unconscious on the floor, bruised and bloodied, thanks to his husband's violent outburst. The last thing he remembered was being yelled at for just trying to be nice to a stranger. He didn't know what had come over Blaine to make him act so crazy. Lyle's head was spinning as he slowly began to regain consciousness. He glanced up at the figure on the kitchen chair, recognizing him as his husband, Blaine. He tried to speak but his mouth and jaw were too sore to say anything. He just wanted to know what had happened to make Blaine lash out like that.
Blaine wasn't always so jealous, he usually didn't behave so aggressively, but before the heat he became all nervous and angry. Omega's behavior became very possessive, he was terribly jealous. The brunette picked up his alpha in his arms when he saw that he was regaining consciousness. A muscular tall man carried his spouse into the bedroom, put him on the bed and took out a first aid kit to treat the wounds.
Lyle was relieved as he felt himself being carried, knowing that Blaine was taking care of him. The pain from the beatings he had received was beginning to subside as the painkillers in the first aid kit kicked in, along with being safe in his husband's arms. He looked at his husband, noticing how much larger and stronger he was compared to himself. Blonde man felt like a helpless child compared to Blaine's might and physique. Alpha was grateful that Blaine had always taken good care of him, despite his tendency to overreact sometimes.
Every time after outbursts of rage, omega took care of his beloved and asked for forgiveness for what he had done, pressed his nose into his neck and whined sadly. Lyle could never hold a grudge against his omega for long.
Lyle was always sympathetic towards his husband after his outbursts, knowing that deep down, he was a good person and didn't really mean what he said in the heat of the moment. He knew his husband didn't mean to hurt him, it was just his way of protecting their relationship. In those moments of anger, Blaine would become more possessive, needing to feel that Lyle was his and his only. He didn't like to share Lyle with anyone, especially other omegas. But once the anger passed, he would become apologetic and ashamed, wanting nothing more than to be pardoned by Lyle.
A strong and athletic brunette carefully hugged a petite guy with blue eyes and began to whine a little and hide his head in his chest. "I'm sorry, darling."
Lyle had come to expect Blaine's apologies and knew that he was being sincere. Even though the violence and outbursts were frightening and painful, they were nothing compared to how much his husband loved him. Alpha was smaller and weaker than his husband, so he loved to be held tightly and lovingly by Blaine. Their size difference only made their relationship more special. And when Blaine apologized, Lyle found himself quickly forgiving him, eager to return the affection.
"I love you, Lyle," Blaine whispered, placing kisses along the smaller man's neck and shoulders.
Blond guy nodded, snuggling closer to his husband as he accepted his apology. He knew that despite his flaws and the occasional outbursts, Blaine truly loved him and just wanted to protect their marriage. As long as he had that love, everything else was just minor bumps in the road.
Lyle said in a low voice, "I love you too. I would never cheat on you." There was clearly some longing and sadness in his words, because he knew perfectly well that even these words would not be able to assure his omega and another outburst of anger would happen again sooner or later, but the alpha would never give up on his husband and would endure beatings.
"I know you would never do something like that," Blaine whispered against his husband's ear. "It's just that I worry about losing you." He paused, contemplating how to explain his feelings to Lyle. "I know that you love me, but I know that you have a lot of suitors and admirers, and I worry that one of them might be better than me." Blaine wasn't usually forthcoming about his insecurities, but in this moment, he felt vulnerable and didn't want to hide anything from Lyle. He trusted him implicitly and was hoping he would understand.
"No one is better than you," Lyle reassured his husband, stroking his cheek. "I've had many people try to get my attention over the years, but they've all fallen short of you." He smiled warmly at Blaine. "I love you and only want to be with you. You mean the world to me."
Blaine felt a rush of relief wash over him as he listened to his husband. He felt silly for having doubted him in the first place, and now his fears were assuaged. He held Lyle tightly, glad to know that everything was all right between them.
