Chapter 1

Early in the morning, as the first rays of the sun began to peek over the horizon and through the gaps in the lush, fluffy clouds, the Temple of Fire awoke. The American sprawled across the bed as usual, but closer to dawn, half of his body slid onto the cold floor. The memory of his warm, soft, luxurious, expensive double bed, positioned in front of massive panoramic windows, couldn't leave him. Unconsciously gripping the mattress with a dead grip, the Hollywood star fully drooled over the slipped pillow until the lower half of his body was almost covered in frost. Suddenly opening his eyes, Cage groaned sleepily, stretching and loosening his stiff limbs. β€”Ugh... What the hell, it's the damn Temple of Fire! Did they forget to turn on the heating or something? - Yawning, the man grabbed a towel, brush, toothpaste, and comb lying nearby, opened the door, and headed to the showers. Successfully refreshed and groomed, Johnny exited the communal shower with a smile on his face. It was challenging to catch him without a smile, considering it was part of Johnny Cage's image. There was nothing suspicious here, and besides, the American finally managed to warm up and style his hair quite nicely, of which he was extremely proud. Opening the door, Johnny straightened up when he saw Kenshi, disheveled and with a red bandage over his eyes, standing in front of him. The actor could only hope it was all a dream, but no. Yesterday, they really returned from the outer world, barely able to stand on their feet and bringing a couple of new comrades. β€”Haha, so today I woke up earlier than you! Who's unpunctual now? - He greeted him warmly, patting his friend on the shoulder. β€” Good morning, Cage, - Takahashi relaxedly exhaled. The swordsman had already started to miss this blockhead. Surprisingly, spending some hours with healers in soothing silence allowed him to contemplate everything – what comes next, what he would do today, whether to meditate or train – and even understand being and non-being. Most importantly, the burning pain in his torn eye sockets, which had been relentless, began to subside, almost disappearing. β€” As usual, I'm waiting for you at the 'buffet.' Heard on the way here that Kung Lao was arguing about something with Raiden!" β€”Today is going to be damn dramatic! Just don't forget to bring my gift, - he informed his friend with a BLINDING smile. After that, Johnny started talking, saying that it would probably be like one of his movies. The Japanese responded with a smile and went to wash up, leaving Sento standing at the entrance. β€” Indeed, they could be heard from the opposite part of the Temple. - Pouring himself tasteless but balanced breakfast, Johnny attentively watched the dispute between the two Hat Boys. At least something interesting this morning, because, apparently, the Hollywood star forgot to charge his phone all night. Pushing an empty chair away, he sat next to Takahashi. β€” I think you and Kung Lao have a lot in common, Cage, - he chuckled, and Johnny replied, β€” Yeah, maybe, but I'm better. *Cough* the opposite *cough* - the swordsman cleared his throat and took a few sips from his mug. β€”It's a great idea! I don't understand why you don't like it? -the first one insisted on his absurd idea, twirling his hat in his hands. β€” You're already spinning it, and then you throw it. Why turn it into an electric razor? Do you want to give Cage a gift?- Kenshi, not going to support such a ridiculous venture in any way, exhaled and turned towards the American and the Japanese. β€” Well, mine broke, and shaving with a shavette or disposable razor is damn barbaric! So I'm all for it! And Oddjob's hat will become way cooler. - Looking at the guys through his sunglasses, Johnny added fuel to the fire. Kenshi quietly watched this absurdity. β€” Even he agrees! So help a friend out! I'll attach the second blade myself, and you just zip it up with your lightning. Done deal. - Insisting on his farmer-like idea without giving up, Kung Lao prompted his friend to action. β€” Kung Lao, please! You nearly lost your forearm in the last training, and Kenshi didn't cut his throat! Did you forget? - Raiden, not intending to support this absurd idea in any way, tried to dissuade his glutton. β€” Did I? I didn't even notice, - the swordsman inserted his two cents to lighten the mood. Everyone turned to him, and after a second, quiet and not very laughter sounded from each of them. β€” Seriously, Lao, perfect your skills first, and then shave. Seriously, - the electrician sighed tiredly, leaning towards his mug, already dry from this dispute. β€” Hmphfvmhfm- The guy responded indistinctly, chewing on this "balanced and nutritious" meal. At least for lunch and dinner, you could eat whatever you wanted, but breakfast just had to be endured. β€” Thank you for such pleasant company, - Takahashi said, rising from the table. β€” Not counting these two... - he added in a whisper, addressing Raiden. β€” But I'll have to go, haven't trained for too long, need to make up for the lost time. β€” Oh, come on, man! You've only been lying there for 5 hours while they patched you up. Rest a bit longer! If your conscience bothers you so much, how about I cover your sick leave? - Johnny suddenly chimed in. He wanted Kenshi to stay a bit longer; without their teasing banter, he felt somewhat lonely. Besides, seeing his friend alive and well was a pleasure! β€” You've already paid it to me. I got a whole three million dollars. Thanks, Cage, but I prefer to keep myself in shape. - The Japanese said from top to bottom. β€” What are you hinting at, my excellent samurai? I'll knock you out in ten seconds! Just like in one of my moviesβ€” β€” Let's check that in action, Johnny Cage. - Extending his hand to his friend, the swordsman smiled. β€” Well, let's go outside, - the actor replied, grabbing his hand and getting up, then turning it into a greeting from a movie. β€” "u're son of a bitch!" β€” EXCUSE ME??? - Choked, Kung Lao appeared. .... β€” I won't put Sento at the outcome of this fight. β€” πŸ”ŠπŸ”πŸ”πŸ” - the American responded with the sounds of a blind chicken. Pushing Cage away, Takahashi drew Sento from its sheath, around which a bright blue fire flared up, and under the red bandage, the lights burned even brighter in the same color. Johnny only snorted indignantly and irritably, as his glasses had cracked. Quickly taking them off and throwing them away, he pulled out a new pair from the back pocket, smiling as he put them on, adjusting them with his middle finger. Lunging at the actor, the swordsman magically pushed him further away, causing the man to fall. But not allowing the situation to be exploited, Johnny Cage squatted down and knocked the opponent off balance. When both got up, Cage continued with a quick rib punch, followed by an uppercut, but they were blocked. Creating distance between them, Kenshi first tried to stun the Hollywood celebrity by throwing his blade and returning it, then immediately performed a maneuver, summoning a magical silhouette in armor and with his own blade from the air, which turned out to be real and also sharp. Approaching his comrade, the Japanese launched an attack, but the man managed to step aside and immediately perform a roundhouse kick, making the Japanese exhale heavily as the blow came not to the thigh but to the diaphragm. Slashing through the air, Takahashi immediately after knocked Cage to the ground with a wave of new magical power. A moment later, already finishing with another series of moves, Johnny succeeded in interrupting the sequence of attacks and dragging Kenshi along. Quickly orienting himself, the swordsman placed his hands under him, hovering over the actor, while Sento floated in the air and then slowly descended to the ground. Taking a few seconds to catch his breath in this position, Johnny was the first to speak: β€” I thought we were going to shoot a real, brutal action movie, not romantic nonsense. - He grunted, getting used to the heavy burden hanging over him. β€” ... Unplanned script edit... To gather more views. - Still in this pose, the breathless swordsman replied, turning his head towards the rustling of leaves. Following his example, Cage also did the same; hidden in the bushes a few meters away was the lurking Hat Boy, with a shocked expression on his face. From the side, Raiden approached with some snack in his hands, apparently at the request of the first. β€” What did I miss? - The newly arrived electrician already stood with a silent question in his eyes. β€” Kung Lao, it seems to me, or did we interfere with them sorting out their relationship? β€” Everything was fine a couple of minutes ago! Kenshi was about to kick his ass! But not in this context! - Started to explain the one who was sitting. The guys were playing some kind of peekaboo, shifting their gaze from each other to the other. Still looking at the guys, Johnny said: β€” What are they waiting for? For us to kiss? β€” Sometimes I regret losing my sight, not my hearing. - Apparently, Takahashi didn't appreciate the joke of the man lying below. β€” Who would've thought, you're the one who pinned me down! By the way, do you want to get up? I'm running out of breath here, - the American began with a playful taunt. β€” You knocked me off my feet, Johnny, and no, I'm quite comfortable like this. ... β€” I understand, is this a draw, then? - Kung Lao asked, taking the snack from his friend and already opened it.
