State of Alabama. Tuscaloosa. “Leah, hurry up, we’re late for the airport!” Mom’s voice echoed along the corridor. “I’m coming, mom,” I said with sadness in my voice, and a shadow of sadness fell on my face. Summer holidays will end soon, and we are moving. To a small city located on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, which is one of the rainiest places in the United States - Forks. And we are leaving because my father was transferred to work at the local police station. Even though Tuscaloosa was a godforsaken place, I will miss it very much. In the last month before our departure, my father was full of enthusiasm for the move. In this rainy town lived my father's old friend Charlie Swan. He is the Chief of Police of Forks. Well, what about the mother, she didn’t really want to leave, because in Tuscaloosa all her friends were gossips. Well, as such, there was nothing keeping me here. I didn't have many friends. For most of my life I have always been alone. And I like it. Pleasant silence always calmed me and my thoughts. And what will you do to me? I am such a person. As my mother says, “a sheep that escaped from the herd.” I always respect personal space and don’t interfere with people. Because of this, everyone thinks that I am not sociable and that I don’t like to communicate at all. That's why everyone avoided me. But it doesn't bother me much. (It is advisable to include the Joe Layne song “Portrait” for atmosphere.) Here we are passing Black Warrior. I'll miss her. I liked walking along this river, and just being here. The wonderful views that opened up on the coast immediately flashed into my memories. All this will remain here, in the past... evening walks, reading fiction in the park nearby. We're moving for good. Of course, I will come to my grandparents, but still... I will miss my native Tuscaloosa. A single tear rolled down his cheek. My soul was empty. Leaving your native land is unbearably difficult, I didn’t think it was so difficult. For some reason my heart began to ache pitifully. I remembered my childhood, the first day of school, sleepovers with friends, a long-awaited trip to Black Warrior with my parents... An incredibly beautiful sight - the sunset. When the sun, so close, big, crimson-red, fantastically beautiful, says goodbye to the summer day, tenderly giving its last warm rays. And this is the most romantic time of day, which gives birth to legends with attractive magic. The clouds were large and shiny. One of which looked like a ship that was sailing somewhere into the distance. The sunset enveloped the trees in a pleasant golden glow. There was an atmosphere of calm and tranquility around. The city seemed to see me off; the best places in Tuscaloosa seemed to stand out with the bright rays of the sunset. We passed my favorite coffee shop. The coffee there was amazing. Library... Favorite library. I often spent time here reading old books. Many would consider me an avid bookworm, but I am not. Yes, I like to read, but it was precisely the atmosphere of the library, the bookshelves, which were full of wonderful collections of literature, that acted like a balm for the soul. And yes, I read in moderation. You can turn off the song Thinking about everything, I didn’t even notice that we had already reached the Tuscaloosa National Airport. It was quite old, it was built back in 1940. We have gone through all the registration procedures. The plane had already reached the runway and we began to take off. First, we had to fly to the airport located within the city limits of Port Angeles, and from there we had to get to Forks. We arrived quite quickly, probably because I slept the whole way, since we were flying deep into the night. But the road to Forks was quite boring. Just trees, and that's all. - Milia, look, the Forks sign! “We have arrived,” said the Father. Looking at the sign, I didn’t notice anything unusual. It simply said “City of Forks. Welcome".
