Chapter 1

Sanguine was having a good time in mortal form at the Harvest festival. It’s funny, but masquerade parties were still held in large decent cities, which made these events even more fun. Who knows what kind of strangeris hiding under the guise of “saber” or “bear”, however, in a fit of his fun, he noticed one single person in a mask that was extremely suitable for him and made him stand out even among his kind. A fox, bright red with glowing green eyes, and it wasn’t clear at first glance whether these were his eyes or the enchantment on the mask. As soon as Sanguine stopped and left the dancing area to rest, he immediately began to observe, apparently, a young male wood elf who danced unusually well, attracting more and more interested looks from the ladies. His movements were so light, elegant, even mesmerizing. His thighs made Sanguine choke on his wine, only imagining how he would squeeze them. And his whole physique was somehow, too correct… not surprising, it was an elf. The Nords, of course, were immediately found when they began to look at their opponent with displeasure, or make caustic jokes about the Mer. However, the young man remained unperturbed and continued to demonstrate his skills, not forgetting to show off in spite of his offenders. Sanguine could swear that he even noticed the chuckle from the guy. The prince of revelry himself was hiding under the mask of a “wolf”, which suited him very much, because his breton appearance with black hair ideally framed the mask. Although his eyes didn’t burn with the same sparkle that the “fox” had, many interested glances were also thrown at him and the ladies was “hunging on his neck”, but in the young man wearing the “fox” mask there was something different that made Sanguine literally burn elf with his glare. Some strange element, attractive and dangerous, from which Sanguine felt like a real animal, wanting to get his prey. And this didn’t go unnoticed, because when the Daedra lost his vigilance, this young man suddenly grabbed him by the hand and pulled him into a circle of dancing couples, clearly grinning, and Sanguine immediately got confused and accidentally led them into the thick of it. Green eyes watched the partner for a long time, forcing the “wolf” to swallow nervously with impatience and excitement. Excitement? The prince of revelry? How could it be that an ordinary masked mortal made him so worried. “Mmm, are you having fun here?” — stretched out a painfully familiar voice coming from under the “fox” mask, but due to intoxication, Sanguine couldn’t remember who its owner was, because he took alcohol with him much stronger than mortal’s wine and honey. “Of course, what could be better than a good party?” — the man grinned, looking spellbound into the green eyes, which watched him with some sly interest. “And what brought you so far?” — it sounded like an unobtrusive interrogation, but Sanguine was ready to play this game. “I…” — Sanguine hesitated, — “I kind of travel,” — they took a step back, holding hands, then they got close together again and Sanguine allowed himself to put one hand on the stranger’s waist, starting to enjoy. “Fox” gave a stifled laugh and put his hand on the chest of the “wolf” with amazement noticing that his shirt was almost wide open on him. He was clearly pleased with this, and his hands brought more and more memories to Sanguine. They circled in the very center of the circle, dancing the most primitive village dances, now moving away, now drawing closer to each other and each placing closer and closer, no longer fearing each other. “Well, I am a rare guest at such events,” — the “fox” admitted with a grin, -"tell me,” — he turned his head sideways with interest and narrowed his eyes, — “how often do you visit the Harvest festival?” The hands of the “fox” have already wandered over the body of the “wolf” with interest, studying its constitution, and the look becomes more and more interested. “Yearly. This is my favorite holiday,” — Sanguine answered with a smile, squeezing the hand of his companion tighter, — “and you should go out more often, with such an appearance…” The “Fox” proudly shook his red curls, forcing Sanguine to involuntarily bite his lip. “Mom told me to take care of my beauty,” — the “fox” said a little more quietly, pressing Sanguine to his waist and forcing him to breathe a little faster. They both sensed something that made them stop for a moment and close their eyes. The “Fox” was clearly agitated and his chest heaved more and more. “I like. You look like a princess,”- Sanguine smiled and chuckled softly, bending over to his partner. “Yes?” — “fox” was feigned surprise, not taking his eyes off Sanguine’s face, — “thanks, I tried to improve my appearance,” — he stretched out this offer so sweetly, coming close to “wolf” mask what made Sanguine swallowed again and slightly loosened his grip. “Fox” immediately pulled away from him, taking a step back, practically disappearing from Sanguine’s field of vision. He was surprisingly fast and deftly avoided dead ends and collisions with the rest of the revelers, but the “wolf” rushed after him, looking for him, literally, by smell, like a dog. As soon as he accelerated and, nevertheless, was able to find the place where the redhead slipped away, Sanguine was surprised that this dead end was empty. But… “You know, I couldn’t even imagine that we would meet with you here,” — said the “fox” in his ear, and grinning at his victory.
