She walked along the side of the road. It was pouring warm May rain. She was shattered, and her heart was pounding. It was as if the whole world had turned against her. She was always at fault, always doing everything wrong.
Crystal tears spattered from her eyes. The rain began to fall with renewed vigor. She walked ankle-deep in water. A car came by and splashed her.
What the hell had she done to come all this way!
It was a couple of alleys away from the gazebo. It was dark outside, and there was hardly any light in the windows. The puddles squelched under her feet and the rain poured down with renewed vigor.
With difficulty she reached the gazebo and flopped down on a bench. She was soaked to the skin.
Suddenly she felt a touch. Someone hugged her from behind.
- It is you? - she whispered.
- Yes.
Looking up, the red-haired girl saw a boy of about 17 with an umbrella. He was brown-haired with brown eyes, dressed in a black sweatshirt and jeans.
A moment later, she felt a light touch of lips on her cheek.
- Thank you.
