Hunter

Settings
In the darkness of the forest, the stars twinkled like tears on the black fabric of the night. The hunter, like a wanderer in this world of shadows, wandered among the trees, his heart beating rhythmically, as if calling him to dance with the ghosts of the past. His gun was his companion, but not his friend. It adorned his shoulder, but it did not warm his soul. He strove in search of prey, as if he himself was a lost soul looking for his place in this world. His eyes reflected not only the thirst for luck, but also the pain, sadness, scratched on his heart. He sought to fill the void that dwelt in his chest, but the more he hunted, the more he realized that the dark void in him was not inferior. In the forest, in the darkness, he found a reflection of his own loss. The sounds of the night were his only companions: the sad howl of the wind, the whisper of leaves under his feet, the smooth rustle of living creatures. All this reminded him of his own loss, of the anxiety that was his constant companion. And so, he saw his prey: beautiful and carefree, like a reflection of what he was missing in his life. He raised the gun, but at that moment something inside him fluttered. The hunter's gaze met the gaze of this creature, and in that moment he saw the reflection of his own loss in her eyes. He lowered his weapon, as if realizing that killing this living creature would not bring him what he had been looking for for so long. He left the forest, but the heaviness of his heart did not decrease. He realized that the true hunt was not for prey, but for something that cannot be caught and held - for the lost meaning of his life.
