Chapter 2 - Imsula Underground.
November 15, 2023 at 3:49 AM
It would seem that none of the shinobi did anything special — they just listened and were surprised! However, everyone slept in a dead sleep.
The bridge separated everyone individually, but not everyone. Although there were enough rooms for everyone, some lived in twos. Of course, temporarily.
Almost all of them fell asleep immediately as soon as they lay down. Some thought about what had happened. This is all too unusual, strange… Why didn’t they kill them, help? Each of them asked these questions.
-There’s definitely something wrong here…
Obito interrupted the early morning silence with a half-whisper.
-Did you say something?
Shisui asked sleepily, rising on his elbows. They got one room for two. Nearby is Ashura, and the rest are in other places. Which couldn’t help but rejoice. I wouldn’t want to be neighbors with Uchiha no Borey.
-Nothing…
He answered his clanmate’s question with detachment. “Maybe this is all just a genjutsu? No… I already checked.”
-Why do I have to go through this hell again?
With this question, he turned his head towards the wall clock — 6:20. Since six in the morning I haven’t been able to sleep in one eye. Since six in the morning, he has been replaying the past two days in his head. But he still can’t find answers to his questions…
Shisui glanced at him questioningly. The last question confused him a little. Go through hell again? What did he go through? Although, he himself spoke about this in their first meeting.
“It would be better if they didn’t save me then.” Then none of this would have happened…
Shisui didn’t say anything to this statement, but simply watched him. Obito seemed to have forgotten that he was not alone in the room. Complete detachment, completely immersed in his thoughts. Doesn’t notice anyone. He lies with his head in his hands and looks at one point, and on his face there is nothing but despair, regret and sadness.
Shisui took a sitting position, resting his head on his hand. The suicidal attitude of his clanmate did not suit him. It wasn’t enough to commit suicide, only to start life again.
“I hope I don’t have to stop you from attempting suicide.”
Broke the silence. Obito turned his blank gaze towards him. “Suicide? It looks like it’s written all over my face, since he thought about it.”
-Don’t even try. By the way, thanks for the idea, I’ll implement it somehow…
He thanked his clanmate, turning his face to the wall. Maybe, indeed, this way the past will stop haunting him and he can finally continue to strive for the future. Just like when Obito Uchiha was a boy who dreamed of becoming Hokage and the mutual love of Nohara, and not Uchiha Madara…
- Obito, how did you die?
Taking on a serious look, I asked him. The unexpected question made Obito turn to Shisui.
-Why do you want it?
He asked incomprehensibly. Why such a question about his death? What does he want to know?
- Just out of interest. My death may be known to you, but yours is not to me.
Obito sat down on the bed. If there was chakra in this world, Shisui would have felt the terrible pressure of Ki.
-Why do you need knowledge of my death?
Shisui was about to answer, but the creak of the door postponed this idea for later.
The Uchihas simultaneously looked at the named guest in the morning. It was Ashura. As always, cheerful and cheerful, even if he ended up in another world… “Like Naruto…” flashed through Obito’s head, “Even after death you will remind of yourself… and of me…”
-Have you woken up yet?
Ōtsutsuki asked with a casual smile. He didn’t go further than the doorway, otherwise you never know…
“Did something happen, Ashura-kun?”
-Nothing, Shisui. Stan asked me to come get you. Have you forgotten? Today, after all, we will learn to delve into cars and other things, as he said.
- Honestly, I forgot…
Shisui answered, smiling apologetically and scratching the back of his head.
-Well, what about… Obito?
Shisui looked at his clanmate in confusion. He was already rushing around the whole room. It is clear that he was not interested in heart-to-heart conversations, since he got ready so quickly.
-Unlike you, I remember everything, kid.
He broke his silence, putting on his kimono as he walked. All morning, every now and then, he replays yesterday in his head. And not only him…
“That’s why I think we shouldn’t keep him waiting.” Right, Ashura?
Ootsutsuki nodded confusedly. Judging by the younger Uchiha’s face, this one had a sudden change of mood.
-Y-yes… I don’t think it’s worth it.
-That’s good.
Patting Ashura on the shoulder, Obito left them. Ōtsutsuki turned his gaze to Shisui.
-Shisui… I see.
He waited until the Uchiha moved further away.
-What about him?
-Nothing. I just got off on the wrong foot.
He answered, stopping in front of him.
“Itachi said that he was also a manipulator and a liar. Now I’m beginning to understand what he meant. Madara, Obito… It’s not so easy for them to be at enmity with each other. Soon the chakra will return to us, as well as to them. Then not only Imsula but also the world will be in danger.”
Clasping his hand behind his head, Shisui followed his clanmate. Ashura closed the door and joined him. However, deep down, he felt something was wrong. You can’t trust anyone, not even your brother — he realized this when his father made him Ninshu’s heir, not Indra.
“We all wear masks, but over time they will fall off and reveal everyone’s true face to the world. Indra, Obito, Madara… I hope you don’t repeat your mistakes again. I don’t really want to fight again. To death… When we were given a second chance to start over.”
…Walking along the corridor, the Uchihas and Ootsutsuki thought about their own things, but in the end it all came down to one thing: How to survive in this world? If at home they encountered shinobi, then things are much worse here… Animals, if you can call them that, are made of metal, mutant people, incomprehensible weapons, equipment, speech — the list can be endless! But they sorted out the speech, thanks to Imsula, but with the rest… They have a month to find shelter for themselves and understand why they have to live in this… future? No matter how much they think, it all makes no sense if they do not learn the basic skills of this world, which the clan workers will be happy to teach them.
—O~ I see everything is already assembled.
Suddenly there was a sound from behind as the trio turned the corner. They turned around sharply, taking a fighting stance, out of habit from surprise. Stan. It was just him. Bridge stood with his back against the wall, smoking a cigarette.
-I’m sorry I scared you.
He said, putting his hands forward.
- Just don’t hit me.
Realizing that there was no danger, the aliens returned to their original position. Smiling guiltily and chuckling slightly, Bridge scratched the back of his head. He did not expect such a reaction — something new! “I hope that next time they won’t throw shurikens at me…” Pushing back from the wall, he continued:
-So!
Stan said loudly, hugging Obito and moving with him on the way.
—From today on, you are temporary representatives of the Imsula clan and future citizens of Japan who came to America and live in Vegas.
Noticing the undisguised lack of understanding, I decided to immediately put everything in its place.
- I’ll explain right now. You, as Japanese speakers, are citizens of Japan, by coincidence. At the moment you are in another country — the United States of America — or the USA, or America, as the common people say. Namida and Carter will soon add you to the database and none of you will stand out from the locals.
-Um… What will they contribute?
Obito said, slightly drunk. Why did Stan become attached to him? Why not Shisui or Ashura? Why exactly does he come across his hand?
- So what?
Bridge shouted, causing the Uchiha to wince slightly — straight into his ear.
-Your biography! Fictional, of course. How could it be otherwise? We wish we were children with our families in this world — for God’s sake! But here… excuse me.
“I hope they will write something good about us.”
Shisui butted in, inspired by this idea.
- It’s too early to rejoice, little one.
Obito put in his two cents.
— It is still unknown what they will write. Maybe some of you will be labeled as traitors or criminals…
-Why suddenly?
Ashura asked incomprehensibly.
“Itachi will try, since he’s with them.”
He answered phlegmatically.
-Where does so much negativity come from in you, Obito?
Bridge asked, tightening his grip slightly. The Uchiha already thought for a moment that they wanted to strangle him right here and now.
-Be more cheerful, otherwise you were able to cause rain with your aura yesterday, but what about today? Tornado or flood?
Shisui and Ashura looked at the two with a smile. By appearance you can’t tell that he is dangerous or hiding something, but reality is always deceptive, as everyone has been convinced of more than once. The fact that they were given only a month to live next to them is an achievement! The leader could have killed them all even then — it was tested on Madara. They were given a chance to prove that they do not pose a threat to them, and with some individuals this is almost impossible…

The garage is a mechanic’s paradise. “Men have always had a love for cold, damp rooms… Like, straight into a cave.” — Sanya Kayero once said when she first arrived to them. She couldn’t understand why they were so drawn to this place, but after hanging out for a while, she got involved… Now a trio of newcomers came to them — Ashura, Obito and Shisui, as temporary workers and a replacement for Kayero, who will be here only in a few days.
Dragging Obito along with him, Bridge led them to a garage — hidden from human eyes underground — that’s why it’s called the underground. It will be sad to lose this base, but what can you do… You don’t need to blame the Mexican for this — is it really her fault that the whole pack of Horizons is chasing her? There is very little left and they won’t get them, but the baggage in the form of this seven can disrupt all plans, but that’s not the point now.
… While poking around under the hood of an old diesel Mustang from the twenty-first century, Nigel managed to throw out half of all the spare parts from it. Ritrace, passing by him, had already sighed twice in doom. No matter how much you ask him not to throw away spare parts, it’s all to no avail! Just as he threw them behind his back, he still throws them…
-Nigel…
I called him when Max was almost hit by a direct blow from an oily radiator. How could he pull it out with his bare hands?
-What?
He asked without looking up from his fidgeting.
-You’ll kill me.
He answered briefly, picking up the radiator from the floor.
-In terms of?
Walress turned to Ritrace incomprehensibly. Noticing this damn radiator in his hands, which he was tired of unscrewing from these rusty bolts and at the end he simply tore it off with all four hands, I understood what he was talking about.
-Sorry. He pissed me off.
After this phrase, the door to the garage opened with its characteristic size and sound, like a Japanese shoji. The mutant duo turned all their attention to the visiting aliens in the company of Bridge.
***
-Well? Welcome to our “underground”, dear guests.
Stan said loudly, drowning out the Uchiha under his wing. A couple more screams in his direction and his already crippled body will become symmetrical, almost — his eye was returned to him.
The Uchiha and Ōtsutsuki were simply shocked by what they saw. While there were a couple of buildings outside, there was a whole underground complex. Shisum even compared it to Root. A gigantic spacious room with a variety of equipment and machines, as they found out. But what attracted their attention most of all was the largest thing that stood in the distance, although its dimensions said otherwise…
-What is this thing?
Obito asked, recovering from his shock. How did she even fit here?
-This?
Bridge asked, nodding his head at the giant plane.
—Board 17-03 “Arekh”. Military transporter, aircraft.
-Isn’t he a little big?
This time the speech returned to Ashura.
-Bigger? He’s still small! Although its size is the size of a thirty-story building, its brother — 18-33 “Giant” — is the size of a seventy-story building.
Having gone into the drop, the aliens looked at this “baby” again. There is even more than that, almost twice that!
-How did you get it?
Shisui more or less came to his senses, turning to Bridge.
“Once upon a time there was a man named Sam in our clan, but he died.
He began to tell them the story of Arekh.
-So, he was once the pilot of this plane. One day he crashed and was considered dead by his own people. However, he actually survived but lost his left arm. At some point, Max and Nigel found it and patched it up, just like the plane. Since then, this trio has been the oldest members of Imsula — Rit, Kol and Arekh.
-How did he die?
Ashura asked. Why does he want to ask about the patient?
—During the “moving” we were attacked by the Minotaur…
Ritrace had already begun to speak, approaching the four.
—These creatures contain a mutation substance.
-They also explode when you kill them!
Nigel added, continuing to throw parts out of the car.
-Yeah… Me, Sam and Nigel killed this one, but this liquid got on us — blood, to be more precise. We all became mutants, almost overnight. Me and Kol kept our sanity, but Sam didn’t. Immediately becoming a monster, he attacked his own people. We had to kill him…
He paused, remembering this day again. Now it has become his nightmare. He constantly sees this moment where the head of the former leader is torn into pieces by a shot from a shotgun — “Akon-7”.
—So Sanya became the new leader, and the plane is now, one might say, a memory of him, like the clan.
-Sorry for asking. It must be painful for you to remember this…
Ashura apologized. Now he will definitely not ask about such things — never. This will be his personal taboo.
-Nothing. Newbies often ask about this. Therefore, there is no need for apologies here.
-It’s clear. Sorry again.
-So!
Having embraced the Ōtsutsuki, Stan decided to move away from this dark topic of the Imsula clan.
— Let’s remove the sour face — we are not at a funeral, although we remember it. We came here for a completely different reason. Have you forgotten?
-No…
The elder Uchiha said cautiously. If only this weirdo didn’t come back to him.
—Then let’s begin to study the work of a mechanic in practice.
Having taken on a student, Imsula began training. Ritrace with Ashura, Nigel with Shisui, and Obito with Bridge… Someone is clearly unlucky in life.
