Chapter 3

Settings
Percival returned just one day after he was released from the hospital. The eyes fell on him for just a few seconds that felt like centuries inside his mind, although he himself knew that it was just an exaggerated paranoia. Still, Percival couldn't help but think that the people around him only remembered what happened to him or speculated about it every time they looked into his eyes if they let themselves. The wizard reached his office and snorted before discrediting the spell he'd used to seal the door the day he'd confronted Walter. In doing so he was surprised, not for better but for worse, the door did not need any spell or incantation because it was open something that Percival did not like at all although he could not be sure who had opened it, considering the complexity of the spell that had used guessed that it was a very advanced magician, in other words Seraphina Picquery so he just couldn't complain. In the same way it seemed strange to him, why would Seraphina want to search his office? Something was not adding up. Or was she still suspicious of him? Percival would practically have shaken his head like a fool not to think about it. Luckily, inside the office it looked completely normal and just as he had left it, not a bit more tidy and not a bit less. Although of course, one of the objects he found on his desk was somewhat new, a newspaper to be precise. The images began to move immediately and the photo in the middle of the front page showed a slender silhouette dressed in black subtly moving his hand, immediately the auror that had tried to approach his fell to the ground while his eyes tried to escape from their orbits. Percival clapped a hand to his mouth, a sick feeling attacking his stomach. The heading carried the words. "Dark Wizard Strikes Again" Graves became upset after reading. There was an error in the header if Walter was telling the truth, but it wasn't important. He would have transformed the newspaper into a handful of paper had it not been for the following image whose scene left him thinking: a man in long, powdered clothes holds a gun in his hands as he points it at de Walter's head. The bullet was fired but did not reach where it should have been, the sorcerer had caught the projectile with just a couple of fingers while he smiled at the stranger who, after drawing an expression of frustration, hatred and contempt, and then get lost in the shadows. "Allied with the M.A.C.U.S.A or another outsider?" They were the only words placed on the paper since there was no more information about the subject. Percival might have continued reading had it not been for the sound of a tapping on the wood of the door. He looked up and cleared his throat. "Come in" he said and waited a few moments only to find the Barebone boy" Oh, it's you. He mentioned without caring how kind or courteous he was in his tone of voice when reciting those words. The boy hurried over to the desk with his head down, which didn't surprise Percival in the least. It was normal that he didn't want to look at his face, "What the hell has Gellert done to this kid?" he wondered to himself before noticing that he had named the sorcerer by his first name…as if they were friends or as if he liked some affection, the thought made his stomach turn once more. "Mrs. Picquery wishes to speak with you" the boy told him. Percival was silent. "Has something happened? he asked, and Credence sighed before speaking. "You haven't told me exactly what you want to talk about. I'm so sorry. "Oh, don't worry. You can go. Credence left, and Percival pondered for a moment, rubbing his hands over his face. He had to see Seraphina, he had no choice even though he didn't want to. When Percival arrived at Seraphina's office he wasn't greeted with a "good morning" but he didn't care in the slightest since he himself hadn't knocked on the door before entering. She gave him a very serious look and he knew very well that something bad was waiting for him in that conversation. "I've been considering it a great deal," she said. Percival held his breath for a few moments" I think the best thing for you would be to come back in a few weeks, maybe a month. His eyes widened and winced as felt his heart begin to crumble inside his chest. "No" he answered" you can't do this to me, Seraphina... please, work is all I have now. Seraphina closed her eyes as sighed, she was about to speak but a stunning alarm resounded everywhere, it was alerting everyone about the new attack of the damned dark magician. Percival looked at the woman with pleading eyes, clasped their hands, and moved a little closer to her, if necessary he would have dropped to his knees right there. "Please" he began to say" let me... let me try to catch him, just this once, please, Seraphina. " Didn't you hear what I told you? " For the love of God, I ask you. His voice sounded a little needy, Seraphina noticed right away and growled. The alarm did not stop ringing and resounding, impacting on each and every one of the walls. The aurors were getting ready in a hurry and Percival's eyes were getting brighter with longing, Seraphina didn't know what else to do. "Fine" he snapped" you will go. The man closed his eyes and sighed, he could have hugged the woman if it hadn't been for the fact that he knew very well that he couldn't do it. He turned around after thanking him and only stopped and turned when he heard his voice again. "But if you get hurt, rest assured that you won't come back until I say so. Percival smiled, the first smile Seraphina had seen in a long time. He didn't answer anything, although he nodded at his words before leaving as quickly as possible to the place where the attack was located according to the magicians who had located it. * "Oh, Percival" Walter told him as he gave him a smile" after the last time I saw you I didn't think we would ever be the same again. "Not really" he replied, referring to the group of aurors that accompanied him behind his back. Walter raised an eyebrow and chuckled, putting his hands behind his back as he cocked his head. "Of course, of course we are not the same, how could I forget? He mentioned while lightly touching his hip. Percival half closed his eyes and then regained his composure before putting one of his hands to his belt... he remembered that he still hadn't managed to find his wand and cursed. The rest of the aurors were very quiet, Percival did not want them to find out about the incident as they would probably report it to Seraphina who would lose patience and send him home. He made a quick movement, one of the light poles that was a few steps from him was thrown with power towards Walter who dodged it doing exactly the same trick as Percival. The aurors wasted no time and began to conjure against him although they were relatively unrelated. From one second to the next they all fell to the ground with just one word. Sleep It was enough. Percival noticed that he was left alone in front only after looking down at his feet when he felt something weighing on him, it was the head of one of the aurors. He was horrified before realizing he was just passed out. He hastened to look everywhere, Walter was not in any of them and that began to scare him a bit. Now he found himself alone once more against a subject who was perhaps extremely dangerous. He swallowed hard and clenched his fists tightly… not taking his wand with him was just bad. "I don't understand why so much interest and so much disorder. Percival heard in the distance. The voice was soft and lulling. The atmosphere had changed radically from one second to the next and the magician thought it was funny, almost as if every inch of the place had transformed itself to be as captivating as possible. It doesn't mean he wasn't already slightly scared of being alone. "Why didn't you care about what happened five months ago but now you are in such a rush to get involved?" Walter asked. "Actually, I wasn't available at the time," Percival replied as he turned in all directions trying to locate the man. "Oh, sure, of course... by the way, what were Grindelwald's cells like? Cozy or devastatingly cold? "Fuck you," he said only to hear a small echoing laugh. Still turning his head, Percival thought it best to keep talking" now I'm curious, what happened five months ago? "Not much... you should ask yours. Come on, ask them, ask about the red clouds that covered the sky that time. Everything was clouded with darkness, it was so beautiful. "Holy God stop raving and show your face, damn bastard. "But why do you want me to do that, Percy?" he asked with a voice lower than a whisper" You don't have your wand. "I suppose you know where it is, don't you? "Well... it could be... Are you interested in knowing? After Percival heard those words, he managed to take two steps forward before running into Walter's silhouette in front of him. The moment caused him to get scared and back down, falling backwards. Walter smiled at him again, he was about to speak but was interrupted. A bullet was sent away with a wave of his right hand. The man in black's gaze flicked from the floor to the front, Percival's dark eyes did exactly the same. ...the strange guy from the newspaper was there.
