Chapter 1

“I called Sam, he will visit us a day before Christmas,” you inform your husband Bucky, who is sitting on the couch and trying not to fall asleep. When he hears you talking, he smiles. “What about Sarah?” he asks. “Unfortunatelly she and her boys won’t be able to come,” you kiss Bucky’s forehead, sitting next to him. It was already late evening and all of your three kids were sleeping. Hannah, your older daughter was really tired after school day so she fell asleep right at her desk, so Bucky should’ve put her on her bed. “I hope you haven’t forgotten about what Hannie asked for a present,” you whisper, trying not to wake your children up. Bucky looks at you, nervously. “I promise to buy it tomorrow, don’t worry,” he says, tiredly closing his eyes. “What did she ask for?” you asked suspiciously. Bucky groans, trying to remember. “Doll, you really think I can forget about it?” seeing your serious look, he says: “She asked for… For a dollhouse?” when you hear him guessing, you sigh. “It's what Jenny asked for,” when you mention your third child, James sighs, “and Hannah asked for a microscoping kit,” you say, laying your head on Bucky’s chest. James wraps his arm around your body, pressing you closer to him. “And Matt asked for a new football uniform, as always,” he mutters, kissing the top of your head. “Mhm,” you confirm, “and what did your favorite girl ask for?” you ask, grinning. Bucky pretends to think and kisses your cheek. “Hmm, I think spending a romantic evening together. Maybe in a fancy restaurant, if she wants,” the man starts gently caressing your hair. You smile softly, nuzzling your nose into his neck and leaving there a light kiss. Bucky blushes a bit, as it was the first kiss you gave him. After laying like this for a bit, you say: “Me and kids planned to decorate a Christmas tree together tomorrow,” Bucky listens to you carefully, “so I wanted to ask if you would be able to come home a bit earlier?” Bucky presses his lips to your forehead. “Sure,” he answers simply, “sure I will.” “Thank you,” you say, smiling. “You don’t know how lucky I am to have you by my side.” Bucky didn’t care about what was happening around him — the only thing that mattered was you. “I love you, Doll. More than anything.”
