Being Isaac Lahey's sweetheart:
• You met Isaac when he moved to Paris with Chris Argent.
• You first met in college.
• You became his guide around the place.
• And then you became friends.
• When he introduced you to Argent, he told you that he was his adoptive father. Not officially, but ...
• You didn't really care, but you were still curious about where his blood family was. But you decided that he would tell you about it when he wanted to.
• You often came to visit them.
• His foster father, on the other hand, was often away for some reason, but Isaac assured you that his job was to be constantly on the road.
• But you hit it off with both Isaac and Chris.
• After a while, you came to them at the wrong time and saw some guy with yellow eyes in their apartment. He looked like Isaac, but at the same time, you didn't believe it could be him. You thought your eyes were deceiving you. There were no guys with yellow glowing eyes!
• He blinked a couple of times and stared at you, and when you began to slowly step back, not taking your eyes off him, he looked down at his hands, which were... huge claws. You looked the same way, swallowed, and continued to back away.
"Please don't be afraid," you heard him say softly.
• A chill ran through your skin. The voice was definitely Isaac's, but... what was it?!
"Who are you?" you tilted your head, studying him. — "No, I understand you're Isaac, but ... who are you?"
"Werewolf," he said, lifting the corner of his mouth in what looked like a smile and then dropping it. His eyes were serious as he looked at you.
You nodded back.
"And... how long have you been a werewolf?" honestly, your head was spinning. Werewolves... maybe there are also vampires? Demons? Angels? Who?
He looked thoughtful.
"Two years".
"Cool" You nodded again as your brain slowly processed the information you received.
• He told you that Christopher Argent was a hereditary werewolf hunter. And you didn't quite understand how a werewolf hunter and a werewolf actually became friends.
• He told you about this later. That Chris had a daughter, Allison, who was also a hunter, and she died protecting Isaac, whom she was dating at the time. And almost immediately after that, Chris and Isaac left the town of Beacon Hills.
• It was very hard for him, but you supported him as much as you could.
• Unbeknownst to you, you've fallen in love with Isaac. But you were a little scared to tell him. Moreover, he had just tragically lost his beloved. In no way did you want to impose anything on him or push him in any way. But now it was much harder for you to be friends with him, because you understood that you had fallen in love with him and that he could not answer you because he was going through a loss. But your conscience wouldn't let you leave him now.
• After his story about his former lover, Isaac told you that after her death, he often had nightmares about her. You advised him to drink soothing tea because there was nothing else you could do to help him.
• Chris came back to town and found out what you knew about his work and werewolves. But he didn't get angry (even though you somehow thought he would be annoyed at the fact that you knew everything), just said, "Welcome to our world."
• After that, you tried to help Isaac during the full moons, although at first you had no idea how to do it.
• But Argent had taught you some hunter tricks and a few werewolves, and now you knew when Isaac was best left alone and when he needed your help.
• At first, Lahey was very much against the idea. Until the next full moon, when he lay exhausted in the basement of Argent's house, chained up and just whining.
You went down to the basement and opened the door, pausing on the threshold, looking at Isaac who had turned. Then you decided to come closer, but as soon as you took a step, you were stopped.
"Don't move, don't come any closer! Lahey snarled at you immediately.
"You need help," you said softly.
"What makes you think you can help?" were you imagining it, or was there a hint of bitterness in Isaac's voice?
"I can try," you said firmly, more to encourage yourself than Isaac, "I can try, it won't hurt anyone."
"I could snap and kill you," he said softly.
His teeth clicked together, and you swallowed hard against the sudden lump in your throat and whispered softly, but firmly, too:
"No," you said, you didn't know how you could be so sure. Judging by Lahey's dumbfounded look, he didn't know either.
• You ended up staying with him in that stupid basement for the night. You would have brought your own blanket, sheets, mattress, pillow, and pillowcase, but there was already a sleeping place, so you used it with Isaac's permission.
• You sat up with him all night and didn't even know you were asleep.
• Surprisingly, in the morning you calmly opened your eyes, sleepily surprised that no one ate you. You turned to look at Isaac, who was sleeping peacefully next to you, his back to your face. You didn't dare wake him up and closed your eyes again, falling asleep.
• Isaac didn't wake you up either, so when you opened your eyes again, there was no one in the basement, but the door was ajar. You propped yourself up on your elbows, rubbing your sleepy eyes and looking around.
There were hurried footsteps in the hallway, and Isaac appeared in the doorway.
"Oh, you're awake," he said. "Good morning. Or rather, good afternoon" he smiled sweetly at you.
You groaned and buried your face in the pillow, and Isaac laughed.
• He gave you breakfast, and later asked if your parents knew where you were. But you reassured him, because you wrote to your parents not to worry about you and you will spend the night at a friend's house last night. To clarify that this is not a friend, but a friend, you did not, after all, it was such an insignificant trifle…
• You went to class together.
• And then he walked you to your house.
• Your mom immediately asked who the guy next to you was, because she saw you through the window. You told me the truth, that it was your friend and you went to the same college with him.
• Now that you knew Isaac's secret, you tried to be there for him every full moon to help him as much as you could.
• Your parents were very surprised that you spend so many nights at your friends ' houses.
• But you did ask your friends and girls you knew to cover for you. They were all very understanding and didn't refuse your request.
• Isaac kissed you once. It was so unexpected that you reflexively recoiled and looked at him with wide eyes.
"You should ask before ..." you shook your head, "before you do it. And think."
"May I?" Isaac asked quietly, looking at you carefully.
You hesitated for a few seconds, then nodded, still watching him intently.
He moved closer and covered your lips with his own in a tentative kiss.
"You're not such a bad kisser..." you muttered softly, almost under your breath, when he pulled away, but Isaac heard and smiled sheepishly. You couldn't help but roll your eyes. Werewolves have excellent hearing, of course…
• When Chris left for Beacon Hills, you asked Isaac if he would go there himself. He replied that he had a lot of bad memories associated with this town and he would not want to go back there, but if he was called, he would come back for the sake of friends.
• And he was willing to wait as long as it took.
