Imagine that you were the adopted daughter of Scott McCall and Allison Argent. You were also Eli Hale's younger foster sister. He was five years older than you.
At some point, you realized that he was not an older brother for you, but rather a love interest. You decided to share this with your mom, but how could you tell her that you fell in love with your own stepbrother (well, at least not a blood brother)?

"Mom, do you know that I like my brother? Not in the sense of being a relative, but in the sense of... damn, what is it? "you almost tore your hair out of desperation.
"Are you okay?" your mom knocked gently on the door of your room.
"I... yes, yes, I'm fine, come in, mom," you sat down on the bed and tried to smile at her when she looked into the room.
"Is something wrong?" your mother has always been perceptive, especially with regard to her own children. She went into the room and sat down on the bed.
"How did you fall in love with dad?" you asked.
She cocked her head to one side, thinking.
"I liked him. But we didn't meet right away, a little later. As you know, my family are werewolf hunters, so it wasn't easy at first, but then we finally found a solution," she smiled sadly.
"Yes, and around the same time Grandma died," you nodded and she nodded back to you.
"And then we broke up, I started dating Isaac, and eventually died," she shrugged, smiling slightly.
"But you realized that you loved dad," you frowned, looking at your mother.
"Yes, I confessed to him right before..." she hesitated for a few seconds, blinked, and then finished, "before I died."
"How did you tell him that you love him?"
"It was simple, but at the same time difficult, because we were both dating other people at the time. I was with Isaac, and Scott was with Kira," you nodded, because you knew them both. "I know I hurt Isaac when I said that, because he was right there and heard every word," she shook her head, her hair covering her face, she sighed heavily. "Now he says that everything is fine, but it's been so many years..." her eyes seemed to be clouded, she looked ahead, but as if through time.
Then she seemed to wake up, blinked, turned her head and looked at you.
"He held me in his arms while I was dying," she said softly, "he held me, and I said that he was my first love and I always loved him. I asked him to tell my father something, and then she died," she shrugged lightly, biting her lip.
You were silent for a few seconds, and then hesitantly said:
"There is something I want to tell you about…"
Your mom turned in your direction and cocked her head to the side with interest.
"What is it?" she asked softly.
You knew that you had only a few minutes left before your father came home, so you took a deep breath, exhaled slowly and said literally in one breath:
"I think I fell in love with Eli!.."
Your mom looked at you blankly for a second, and then frowned.
"Are you sure?" she asked.
You made big eyes and nodded. Not this question you expected, oh not this…
Your mom seems to be thinking about it.
You both heard the front door slam.
"Hello?" a question was heard from the corridor. You giggled nervously. Your father always checked if you were at home.
"Dad, we're in my room!" you shouted.
"We are here!" Allison exclaimed at the same time as you.
Scott appeared in the doorway and you immediately turned your gaze to mom. She looked at him with love in her eyes and smiled tenderly. He smiled back at her and then looked at you.
"Is everything OK?" he asked.
You glanced sideways at your mom, but she remained unperturbed.
"Yes, everything is fine," she nodded to Scott, and you just repeated the same thing after her.
"Uh—huh, everything is fine," you mumbled, barely noticeably smiling.
You really hoped that your mom wouldn't tell your father or Eli about your conversation.
Your father nodded and disappeared into the hallway, and mom turned her gaze to you.
"Honey, we won't judge you," she smiled at you encouragingly, and then squeezed your hand.
You breathed a sigh of relief.
"Please don't tell dad... and Eli," you added, "I'll try to figure this out myself."
"Okay," your mom nodded back at you, "but if you need something, then you will come to me, okay?"
"Okay, mom," you agreed.
She kissed you gently on the forehead, and then got to her feet and left the room.
