Chapter 1

In the village of Fuushiya, a skeleton lived in one of the houses. He was tall, he had an afro on his head, and he was dressed in a black suit. He arrived on the island about 80 years ago after 30 years since the death of the Pirate King, Monky D. Luffy, who shocked this world from his first voyage. The skeleton came to the outskirts of the island every day and stood about 9 graves and sang the same song for 20 years.
On one of the usual quiet days, the skeleton was walking to the graves as usual. A pleasant cool breeze was blowing outside, the sun’s rays were trying to squeeze through the foliage of the trees, preventing the earth from warming up. They were lined up in a row, as if accompanying him to the right place.
When he came to the cliff, he saw 9 graves lined up in a triangle. There was a steering wheel on the far left, and a robe hung on a rack behind it. The next one was wearing a blue and pink hat with a white cross in the middle. On another grave was a long slingshot, and on another three swords. Another one had a pole, and behind it a bush with tangerines, next to it was a chef’s hat and a meat cleaver stuck in. Next was the grave on which there were books laid out in a pile on which glasses hung. And on the far right was a wrench, behind which were two large light blue cubes with an emblem in the form of a star. In the middle of these graves there was one larger, a pirate flag was stuck on it, on which a Jolly Roger with a straw hat was painted and a straw hat hung on the flag.
The skeleton looked at the graves, it was impossible to tell from him what he felt looking at them, because he had no eyes. He listened to the waves beating against the rocks, saw the sea breeze waving the pirate flag, but there were still sounds that he did not hear in this place. Two children’s voices who were playing pirates shouting out the name of the techniques of two people very familiar to him. At one point they stopped playing, paying attention to the newcomer here. At the exit from the forest grove, a tall skeleton stood in the shade with a violin in his hand, coming out into the light, the children turned completely to him and looked questioningly at the skeleton until the boy rounded his eyes, clearly recognizing who this skeleton was.
— You’re Soulking Brook, right? From the Pirate King’s team?! This child asked with delight. The skeleton grinned and calmly replied:
— I’m glad that someone else remembers me and this team, — it’s not clear where he was looking, whether at the graves. — It was a long time ago, but for me it was like yesterday. Here we were dissecting the sea filled with different creatures.
— Did you really swim with him? With the Pirate King? Another child asks with her eyes wide open as the skeleton turns to face her.
— Of course, baby. I was honored to be a musician of this team. You see, every team needs music, YOHOHOHO. — still answering melancholically and sitting down on the grass.
The boy jumps and runs to one of the graves, plucking a tangerine from a bush and sitting down opposite Brook with the girl. He peels the tangerine and cuts it in half and gives it to his neighbor. Brooke just looks at them with her empty eye sockets, looking at them kindly. And the boy looks at the skeleton with a smile asking him:
— What were they like? — the skeleton looks almost saddened when his thoughts go back to those days, but he still decided to tell them about one of the strangest teams, but at the same time the most fun.
— I want to say that they were all moving towards their own dreams, we were all entwined by the dream of our captain and helped each other to achieve not only his, but also our own. So where to start… ah, our navigator. She was a cunning young woman with a habit of stealing and a love of certain fruits that you are eating now. Her dream was to make a map of the whole world. Our doctor was a strange creature, a raccoon dog, if memory serves. He wanted nothing more than to cure all the diseases of the world. Brooke stopped, raising his head to the top, hearing the wind increase, but then continued.
— Our shooter was still a coward, although his kind heart allowed him to do what no one else could. He wanted to become a great warrior of the seas. Our cook was hot-tempered, loving and constantly quarreled with the first mate, who wanted to find the sea called All-Blue, while the first mate became the strongest swordsman who ever lived. Our ship was unlike anyone else and bore the proud name of Towsend Sunny! It was built by a cyborg, with a brilliant mind and a strange aversion to pants. Our Helmsman was a great and noble fishman. A heart of gold and an iron will helped him to remain calm even in the harshest conditions. Our archaeologist, she was special now. The horrors of her past weighed heavily on her mind, although they never prevented her from learning everything she needed to know… — The skeleton turns back to the numerous graves lined up side by side, and the children listen with bated breath. The first one smiles with a wide smile, joy in his eyes at the story.
— What about your captain? — The skeleton’s mouth opens for a moment:
— Our captain… he made everyone he met smile. His rubber body, coupled with his indestructible will, was able to bring the dawn of our new world. You all know his story. He kept us together… I dare say they were my family, but enough of the sad stuff. Maybe you want to listen to a song?
The sea seems to rumble in response when a giant black whale bursts out of the depths, most of its face is covered with massive scars and a rough drawing of a Jolly Roger with a straw hat painted on the front. The skeleton laughs, and the children look at the whale in fright, shifting their gaze to Brooke:
— It was his favorite…
