Arc One. A new world - new hopes. Chapter 9. This is just the beginning.

I was sitting on the "bed" in my room, finishing the food left for lunch. There was nothing holding me back now, so I decided to continue practising with the chakra. I concentrated. Warmth began to spread through my body, spreading to every cell in my body. I felt an overflowing energy. It was the first time in my entire life. It is a very pleasant and unforgettable sensation. I would have liked to continue this exercise, but I needed to move on. The heat gradually left my body when I stopped concentrating, however, I could still feel a lump of this energy somewhere in the area of my abdomen. It was calming me down. I decided to start with a more interesting exercise.       I walked to the nearest wall, whereupon I began to perform chakra manipulations. To begin, I channelled the chakra into my hand, with my fingers on it I touched the wall of my room. Slowly and gradually I channelled more and more chakra into my hand, watching what was happening. I felt that my limb was simply attached to the stone surface, however my interest did not diminish after that, causing me to continue pouring more and more chakra into my hand. This happened for several minutes. When I thought that there would be no result, a strange grinding sound made my consciousness return to normal. I was surprised, for small cracks went down the wall, but there was a side effect. Cuts appeared on my fingers. I seriously wondered after everything that had happened.       It turns out that chakra creates a forceful pressure on an object. If the force is not too great and the object is strong enough, then, with a constant supply of chakra, the hand is literally glued to the object of interaction. However, with enough concentration, the chakra can create such a powerful directional field that it begins to destroy objects. My fingers got cut due to the strong pull. It turns out that we can draw two conclusions from the experience: the first is that chakra can indeed be used to walk on vertical surfaces; the second is that if you learn how to properly direct a huge flow of chakra into your hand at a certain moment, you can use it to amplify blows in close combat. I continued to test the chakra's capabilities, making a note to myself of the new possibilities. I moved on to a specific exercise.       I raised my leg, resting my left foot against the wall, proceeding to adjust the chakra in my leg. I had already figured out roughly how much chakra it would take to damage a stone surface, so I directed an order of magnitude less chakra, then tried to walk along the wall, directing roughly the same flow of chakra into the other foot. I took one step, starting to feel an uncomfortable heaviness around my neck and spine. My body just wasn't prepared for this kind of movement. This was the reason why I fell. I unconsciously began to channel chakra into my neck and spine to make it comfortable for me to move around, however, I was unable to keep the flow of chakra in my legs constant while doing so. I should have taken a painful blow, however my body was fortified with chakra at the point of impact, causing me to feel nothing but discomfort, for the floor was cold. I leisurely rose to my feet, after which I tried again. It took a long time, but I didn't get the proper result. My limit was twenty seconds of standing on the wall. I wanted to try again, but when I heard footsteps in the corridor, I sat down on the ledge that served as my bunk. Sweat dripped down my forehead, and I tried to catch my breath. There was an unpleasant scraping sound as the door opened. A ninja had come to get me, ready to escort me to my evening training, but when he saw my condition, he hesitated, not knowing what was going on. I did not explain anything to him, as I thought it was unnecessary, and went to the open door. We moved in absolute silence through the corridors of the arena. In a few minutes I was already standing among the many children. We were arranged in rows, so I was able to find Yumiko.       She was in the third row in the fourth position. I was in the ninth row in the tenth position, which was far enough away from her. The girl was looking around for someone. Somehow I didn't even doubt that she was looking for me. While the others were being set up, Yumiko still managed to find me with a glance. She smiled when she saw me and waved her hand in greeting. I raised my hand as well, indicating that I saw her. After that, the ninja in charge of the others began a warm-up, at the end of which we started honing the stances that belonged to the close combat style I had read about in the book. The three hours passed very dull but useful.       I repeated punches and lunges, bringing them to automaticity. Pretty much all the kids were doing it. Some of them were approached by ninjas, pointing out their mistakes and showing them how to do the moves correctly. When the training was over, I felt an unusual weakness in my arms and legs. It seemed to put less strain on my body than before, but it was so sore that I could barely stand on my feet. I was taken to a cell one of the first to go, and I couldn't talk to Yumiko. I just collapsed onto the retractable stone slab, getting a long-awaited relaxation. My arms and legs were burning from fatigue, and my muscles were cramped in places from overexertion. I decided to check something out.       I tensed up, starting to send chakra through my body. Gradually, the pain began to go away, and the warmth turned from burning to pleasant and tickling. It came as a surprise to me that chakra allows, with a simple run through the body, faster recovery from physical training. My recovery took an hour of time. During that time, dinner was brought to me. After eating quickly, I started a new workout. Since my body wasn't sore, it meant it was ready for the physical workout. As I realised, all chakra control exercises weaken the ninja greatly, because chakra is just energy taken from the spiritual and physical components of a person. By using it, a person stresses their body and mind. It's very entertaining. I tore a page out of the book to begin the second exercise. I shredded the page into many small pieces. I sat in lotus pose, beginning to distribute chakra throughout my body. A piece of paper was already placed on my head.       I began to focus on the flow of chakra, directing it towards my head. When I felt that the piece of paper was fixed on my skin, I tried to move it slowly on the surface of my skin with the help of chakra flow movement. I didn't find this exercise difficult, because after twenty minutes the piece of paper could move along any trajectory on my body. Then I decided to try this exercise with two pieces of paper. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be. Controlling the movement of two independent pieces of paper on my body was a little challenge for me, which I spent all the time before bedtime, but in the end I managed to control the movement of the pieces of paper on my body at a good level. Of course, it wasn't perfect, in my opinion, but it was good enough for the first time. At the end of the workout, I just collapsed on the bed. I was soaking wet, and I'd taken off my outerwear. I could now clearly feel the chakra channels in my body, which were burning from the unusually great strain on them.       I closed my eyes, falling straight into sleep.
