Arc Three. The Evolution of the Shinobi World. Chapter 4. A not-so-joyful return.

I said goodbye to Delta very quickly. She took us back to the real world, or more precisely, to the place where I'd been found. There was a lot of dried blood here, and I could feel the remnants of foreign chakra as well. Ninjas had come here before. Obviously, following the hot trail, they had reached a dead end. It was for the best. I felt very invigorated. I was so eager to try out this new power. Senjutsu... Morgana was constantly labouring, building up a new kind of chakra in me. Denser and more powerful energy was flowing through my body and I could feel it... this boundless power... Delta must have been in a hurry too, so she threw a short "Bye" and disappeared in a puff of smoke, returning to Ryuuchi's cave. And I started moving towards the nearest port to get to the Water Country, where I was already expected. Along the way, I happened to glance into a puddle. My reflection made me stop. My eyes and face hadn't changed much, but there was a purple outline around my eyes. It diverged literally one or two centimetres, going down to my nose in a tapered line. It looked very mysterious. I didn't want to dwell on my appearance for long, so I moved on. The first interesting events began two days later, when I was ready to leave the Land of Fire. I went to the nearest port city, where I was going to buy tickets for a ship from some captain, paying extra for his silence about my person. But my plans were disturbed. I was blocked by six ninjas. Each of them wore a belt or arm band with the symbols of the Fire Nation. I don't like this. Some kind of grouping.
- Freeze. Michiko Yuki, you're under arrest for disobeying the laws of the Fire Nation. Come with us. - spoke one of those shinobi. He was a short guy with a very thin body. His voice was familiar to me, but I didn't know where it came from... Ahhhh, that's right... this guy survived with me in the arena... don't underestimate him. Everyone who survived there has quite a bit of potential in the shinobi path. I took a quick glance at the others, already realising that they were about ten years older than me. Of course, none of the others were familiar to me.
- Who are you? - I asked coldly, already beginning to sketch out a battle plan. I also wondered why they didn't attack me at once. Why didn't they use the element of surprise? It's still the main attribute of ninja... Or they are so confident in their abilities that they are not afraid of me... that sounds ridiculous. such ninjas don't live long... or they just have honour and dignity, which makes them want a fair fight... it doesn't matter that it's one against six... Fine, that way they'll really stand a chance....
- We are part of the ninja protectors of the Fire Nation Daimyo. We are one of the strongest ninja in this country, so surrender peacefully. - the teenager told me in a pathetic manner. It made me cringe. Well, I didn't think that this man would be so arrogant, although maybe it's me exaggerating my abilities? No, I don't think so.
- Makoto Sako, I'm giving you one chance to get out of my way. I'm not going to say it a second time. - I answered him in a calm and confident voice. I didn't want to waste time now, but I didn't want to kill an old acquaintance either. From such a statement all the opponents raised their weapons, standing in combat stances. - You've made your choice. - I added with a sad exhalation, already concentrating the chakra in my hand. The chakra of nature now allowed me to use both physical and spiritual components separately. Intuitively, I knew that the physical component would allow me to make my attacks faster and more accurate while strengthening my body, but I wondered what would happen to the ninjutsu if it was based mostly on the spiritual component of the chakra. I didn't even need to concentrate huge amounts of chakra in my hands to release the ninjutsu. I simply thrust my hand forward and three icicles flew out of it at a decent speed. That was the shape I had given my ice in my mind. Two of the opponents immediately jumped back, leaving the range of the technique, but the third decided to take the attack on his blade, apparently relying on his weapon. I could see that he had chakra of the lightning element, but it did not help him. At the contact of the cold weapon and a small icicle, the latter immediately exploded, releasing into its surroundings such a frosty force that the entire ninja was instantly covered in a crust of ice, unable to even take a breath.
- Bastard! - The only girl in their squad shouted, starting to fold the seals. She was a good distance away from her teammates, so she was somewhat defenseless to me. I didn't give her time to finish the technique. Quickly closing in on her, I delivered a direct blow to her chest, intending to simply knock her out with a heartbeat slowdown, but my new power once again impressed with its capabilities. I could feel that the kunoichi had covered herself with a protective layer of chakra for the effort of her body, but even that wasn't enough to block my direct strike. My hand went through her ribcage without meeting even a hint of resistance. Her partners did not stand still, though through my perception I caught the bitterness of loss and hatred in them.
- Fire Element, Phoenix Flowers. - said the teenager as I came to my senses. Several fireballs flew out of his mouth.
- Earth Element, Mud Dragon. - Another ninja spoke out. A mud dragon appeared next to him and began firing mudballs at me, which were already combining with the fireballs fired by Makoto as they approached me. The combined technique of fire and earth elemental is a very dangerous ninjutsu in skilful hands and these shinobi knew it, even very well. About a dozen projectiles flew towards me, in my head I had a few reasonable thoughts on how to counter this attack. This technique was very close to the improved lava genome technique, albeit inferior to it.
- The ice element, the technique of the coming storm. - I whispered, deciding to respond to their combined ninjutsu attack with an attack of my genome. A huge amount of ice wind flew out of my mouth. My technique was enhanced with natural energy, causing the ninjutsu's confrontation to be short-lived. First, the glowing earth cores began to cool down and slow down, and at a distance of about two metres from me, they all completely lost their inertia, falling to the ground. The opponents were forced to use chakra to keep from flying off, but even so strong gusts of cold wind moved them backwards, freezing their elbowed hands, with which they tried to cover their face and torso. My gut was crying out for danger, but it was too late. I wouldn't have time to do anything. Two more opponents were already behind me as their squad mates used a combination attack on me, bringing their weapons in for the killing blow, but they hadn't taken something into account and I knew it. They were aiming for my heart from different angles, but as soon as their tantos made contact with my back, there was not the sound of tearing flesh that accompanies the penetration of iron into human bodies, but a ringing, ear-splitting clang that indicated that two metals had made contact.
- What? the two shinobi yelled in unison, surprised and shocked. They didn't understand how their weapons couldn't penetrate my skin. They tried to evade my counterattack, but it was too late.
-Ice Element, Ice Oblivion Technique. - I spat out the name of the technique to myself. Again, it was a simplified technique that didn't require a huge expenditure of chakra, so I didn't have to fold the seals. Two sharp spears flew out of my back, piercing the bodies of the two ninjas at vital points. They are no longer tenants. A couple of minutes and they would die from blood loss. They won't even be able to move.
- What do you think you're doing, Michiko?! - My old friend roared. He was hurt less than his partner, since he was further away from me than he was. He had only folded four seals, preparing to use a technique I was not familiar with. I tensed my body, preparing to dodge his attack.
- This is my personal technique, get ready little one. - Sako growled with anger. -Storm Elemental, laser beams. - He shouted the name of the technique, folding his hands into a single fist in front of him. A concentric aura of chakra began to emanate from his hands, creating a springboard for the technique to be released. In the next moment, rays of light began to fly out from that area, which I didn't want to be hit by. I was about to start dodging, but quickly changed my mind, biting my finger until it bled. Why did I make that decision? It was very simple. There were too many rays. You could tell that I was being fired at by some kind of energy cannon. A small haze enveloped my hand and I felt the blade in my fingers. Morgana understood without a word, starting to help me fend off all those lasers. After about forty seconds of firing, I saw that my opponent was on his knees, breathing heavily. Through sensorics, I realised that he had almost no chakra left. His only surviving partner had his hands on his mate's shoulders. He was having a hard time as well. Apparently my former comrade still lacked the chakra to use such a powerful ninjutsu. Their eyes rounded as I emerged from the curtain of dust.
- You're not human. - Makota said with horror in his voice. It was the first time he had ever seen anyone survive such a devastating ninjutsu and not only that, this person was not even seriously injured. I decided not to feel sorry for them. I simply had no reason to. I gave them a choice and they made it by trying to kill me. I quickly got close to the weakened enemy, then struck with my blade. The enemy covered himself with a tanto, trying to block the blow, but his weapon could not withstand the power I put into my attack. I split the shinobi's body into two even halves. Sako remained seated in his seat, looking at me like I was some kind of demon. There was so much horror and fear in his eyes, that I even for a second felt reluctant to kill him, but I quickly dismissed such thoughts, separating the old comrade's head from his torso with a horizontal blow. After that, the blade immediately disappeared in a white haze from my hands. It was pointless to hide the bodies, so I went to the sea to wash myself....
